I don't even know where to begin as there are just so many things wrong with this gym. To be honest, I am completely unsure how the health department hasn't stepped in to address some of the more unsanitary issues I noticed. I was a member for only a couple of months. It's a bit deceptive with their marketing tactics of what they have to offer. Sure they offer a pool, hot tubs in the locker rooms, an indoor 'track' and more. What they fail to tell you is the list of things wrong with all they offer. STAFF: When I initially joined Advope, I had inquired about taking some initial measurements to track my progress. I was told they don't do that. I inquired about fitness / weight loss challenges and was told that they don't do them as there isn't much of a 'community' vibe and people just workout and leave. The girl even said she was leaving in two weeks and 'didn't mind being honest'. Basically, if you need anything that normal gyms offer that involves a staff member, don't bother. You're on your own. Fine, I can deal with that but there are bigger issues at hand. A couple weeks later I inquired about personal training. The male staff I spoke with handed me a flyer and told me to email him. Way to upsell! (Not). Potential sales opportunities lost. I took my personal training $$$ to another gym. Staff was rarely around and when they were, it was staff social hour at the front desk. Not at all helpful and I was often left wondering where management was. FACILITIES: I could spend forever going on about how outdated the equipment is. I'm pretty sure most of it is left over from Jane Fonda's workout days in the 80's-90's. And the 'track'?!?? It's no track. It's a path of carpet surrounding the weight room that is almost always blocked by teenagers or equipment not put away. Don't even bother. You can get better laps in running around the parking lot. The swimming pool is always cold and dirty. You can see numerous complaints about this on here and their FaceBook page so they are aware of the issue and do nothing about it. The cardio equipment has gunk built up in the crevices and you practically have to pound on the buttons to get them to work. Most disgusting of all are the hot tubs. They claim they clean them on a 'weekly' basis. However, in all of my visits I never even once saw the women's hot tub clean. It was dirty and murky and even had a distinctive odor to it. Staff even had notes about these things written on their clipboards hanging in plain sight at the front desk (see the pic I am uploading). So even after numerous complaints over several months and their own written documentation, they still do nothing to address the issues. Someone needs to get the health department involved. I could go on and on but your u get the point. Adcope is not a place to get healthy. It's a place to flashback to the 80's, chase staff around for answers, and potentially get sick from its unsanitary practices. Avoid it and save your money. There are much better options throughout the LC Valley. UPDATE: Soooo glad I asked for a copy of my cancellation form when I cancelled. They have attempted to charge me for ongoing membership in addition to fees etc 3 months after the original cancellation. Left messages for management to call me 2x. No response so I initiated charge backs via my bank. Per my bank, they have yet to even respond to those charge backs. This place is a joke and management is completely unresponsive. read more

NEW EQUIPMENT AS OF SEPT. 1ST, 2011 You can't get much better than this. The staff is friendly and ALWAYS welcoming. You get to know them well after a few times in. They aren't there to twist your arm or blow sunshine up your rear... they are simply there to be excellent. Adcope Athletic Club is more of a family than a gym. You will see plenty of the same people there every single day which makes your work-out much more comfortable than a gym packed with tons of new faces. The environment is very organized with four full-sized raquetball courts with spectator glass windows at the entrance and a pressbox upstairs view of the back courts. Racquets and balls and all the equipment is available for rent for only $1 (but I suggest purchasing a racquet next door at Sports Authority). It is broken up into a Cardio room with brand new equipment from treadmills to elipticals. Free classes given from cycling to yoga. A room with an indoor track circling it with machines for lifting and toning exercises, and another room dedicated to free weights with dumbells, bench press and few machines. The place also has a heated (perfect temperature) indoor swimming pool (only 5 ft deep though I think), as well as multiple hot tubs. with all clean water and high maintenance. The lockers rooms are currently being remodeled as of 9/5/2011. The men's is finished but the womens is being worked on right now. All fresh tile with another hot tub, lockers, scales, sinks and showers. DRY and WET Saunas are also available! The prices are unbeatable, and you will not be intimidated to go in and try it out. The girls at the desk are very sweet and the guys there are friendly and helpful. I recommend this gym to anyone and everyone. Also has a daycare! read more

Ok. My review for Adcope has to end up going down. There haven't been any new machines added since last time I wrote my review. The place has suffered from the Red Lion not allowing routine maintenance to be completed. The hot tubs and steam rooms have been out of order more often than in order. Unless you want access to an indoor pool and racketball courts, Golds gym is a better choice. read more

Good enough for a hometown gym! I pouted a bit when I pulled into a closed down Gold's gym parking lot, so this was a huge relief! Weights are spread out, but decent selection for the space provided. read more

A member for 4 yrs and more frustration that a workout. Dirty. Pool area, dirty. Though I have seen some positive changes, there needs to be serious cleaning done DAILY! One person at the front desk is friendly and helpful...others act like they are going out of their way to assist. And calling for information....I have called to confirm a class, went over within the hour and class cancelled. becomes frustrating. High school kids with no one to monitor...need to stay out of the areas where there are classes...we pay for our classes! Instructors seem to show when they want....MANY times I have shown up and no instructor.... read more

I am new to Lewiston and here for work. Decided to find a gymn so tonight I walked into Adcope Athletic club. As I approached the front desk I saw a young man who appeared to be the clerk talking to a patron of the gymn. Every other word was f.....this and f......that. He stared at me as I walked up to the desk and promptly turned away from me and continued his vulgar conversation with the patron. He completely ignored me for close to a minute. It didn't take me long to figure out that if this individual running the desk was treating me in this manner, imagine how I would be treated if I was an actual member. No thank you!! I recognize there aren't many options for working out in this area but avoid this place. I also recognize the gymn might actually be decent but gymn management should know you're only as good as people's perceptions and first impressions are what people remember. The ads say this place is under new management!!!..............can't imagine what the service was like before. Btw, there's no option to give zero stars but I would if I could!! read more

My fiance and I just joined Adcope, and though it may not have been the best in the past as far as new equipment, they have done a major update and I think the gym is awesome! We went into 2 other gyms in the valley and (especially at Gold's) got completely turned off by the RUDE staff! Everyone working at Adcope is incredibly friendly, and aside from the quality of the facility, this is important to me when I am paying them money. All of the workout rooms are great, there are a lot of classes available (though we have yet to try any), and the locker rooms are wonderful. The pool is decent for being on the smaller side, and even when there are a lot of people working out, we have never had problems getting the machines we want to use. The fees are minimal for the types of activities you can do, and we didn't have to wait for any gimmicky special to not be paying a fortune. And I really appreciate that we didn't have to be already married or family to be on a plan together. Overall I am so happy with Adcope thus far, and I recommend it if you are looking for a community oriented, pleasant place with great staff to go workout. read more
