The…read morePT and OT staff and care were excellent, it was nursing and administration that totally fell short. Unfortunately, their lack of knowledge of how to treat my chronic condition and how to recognize a new condition was overshadowed by their perception of how they felt my care should be administered. As an RN myself, I was able to participate in my plan of care but was not only not listened to, but belittled. And, when I asked to speak to the DON several times I was only provided with visits from the social worker to address my concerns. The final straw was a doctor's order to administer a medication to me that was given without prudent nursing assessment and care because of their preconceived opinion of my needs and care and unfortunately caused them to overlook a new condition that I had asked them to check and placed me in a very intolerable and painful state because they thought they knew better than me. I will NEVER trust them with my care again. I am able to advocate for my care - I fear for those who can't.

During the screening, a nurse calls to ask some basic questions. Then, another nurse calls and asks you to schedule a drive-by test. She tells you how it will work and what time to arrive. 2) The toughest part about the test was finding the place! To find this on the GPS, type in 3620 Pawtucket Ave, East Providence, RI. Otherwise, you will be zooming past it and not know where to park. 3) I spent maybe seven minutes waiting behind two other cars. A woman greeted me and had me show her my driver's license. I then drove up to the tent. There were two people in gloves and N95's. They gave me a pamphlet and made a few jokes. They seemed pretty perky for people administering tests. She told me that they would be "tickling my brain for a couple seconds." I appreciated the humor. 4) The swab was tiny. Probably the width of two hairs. It was in and out of my nose in two seconds. Not very painful, but slightly uncomfortable. They put the swab in a plastic bag and told me that they would call me in 3-5 days. Overall, a good experience. I was nervous going in, but the staff made me feel comfortable and didn't treat me like I was some kind of infectious monster. My insurance covered it, so it was free for me with no copays! I'll definitely go back if I feel like I need a test again.
