There's a real sense of discovery in every aisle, and you could easily spend hours exploring gadgets & treats you won't find in other stores. The Atmosphere: The live kitchen in the back cooks up wonderful samples using products from the store--a delicious touch as you shop! The Staff: Run by people who genuinely love food, the customer service is warm and incredibly welcoming. The team's passion and knowledge truly shine. The Prices: The pricing kept this from being a full five-star experience. While the quality and uniqueness are undeniable, a lot of items skew toward the higher end. Very few items are under $10, with most tools ranging from $15 to $100. Whether you're a casual home cook or a seasoned chef, Kitch is guaranteed to spark culinary inspiration. Just be prepared for a bit of sticker shock depending on what catches your eye.

As soon as I walked in I noticed her cute letterpress business cards and we started chatting how great letterpress items are. She has many of her items in store as well as her online site on Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/shop/WeekendKitchen In addition to her great stationary she has an extensive selection of wonderful vintage, antique and new modern home items. I found a darling set of vintage champagne coupes and found glass stir sticks for cocktails. She also sells a great selection of epicurean cutting boards. I almost snatched one up but I had to hold back. It was great chatting with her and I look forward to visiting the store the next time I'm in the area.

We love this destination in Essex for all kinds of kitchen accoutrements, and we love it even more now. Nancy Kirkiles has a knack for mixing vintage finds with kitchen necessities, and the new, larger space has allowed her to flex her merchandising muscles. You'll find an extensive selection of her lovely letterpressed cards on thick stock (and you'll want to stock up), plus a tempting mix of vintage glassware, interesting cookbooks, antique cleavers, teeny silver spoons, crystal salt cellars, linen aprons, essentials for baking; an entire batterie de cuisine. If you're on a spring cleaning rampage, head here for natural bristle brushes and potions with names like "Boys Bathroom" and Superlative Hand Soap. Over the years, Nancy has developed a talented team of collaborators. If you've been to one of her cooking classes or pop-up dinners, you'll know what I'm talking about. Chef Paul Barron will continue to offer classes and dinners through Weekend Kitchen (coming up: Potato Gnocchi and Easy Thai), plus home chef services and (coming soon) grab-and-go meals. You'll find Plenty of Cake, literally. Lesley Moore's imaginative treats will be available and by custom order (her gluten free versions may just be the best I've had), and a refrigerator case is on the way, to be stocked with Arethusa Farm's ridiculous fresh butter, milk, and cheese. I've been known to race over pre-party for a last minute ladle or gravy boat; now I'll just have so many more reasons to visit.

Wow, so this place is positively dripping in elegance from ages past. Do you need a masonic stained…read moreglass window? Maybe not but they have them. What about a gilded room that looks like it was ripped out of Versailles itself? I mean, who DOESN'T want that...? Or retro lighting fixtures from virtually every decade since the light bulb became a thing? The shop is overflowing with antiques and there are allegedly many additional warehouses of items behind the scenes. This does, at times, make navigation around all of the stuff hard, so this store may prove challenging if you have mobility difficulties or small children. The revolving nature of the items also means that not everything has an apparent price so there is also the danger of falling for something (literally or figuratively) to find out it is several hundred, if not thousands, of dollars more than you expected. However, most items appear to be quite good quality (staff indicated that they sell a lot of items to movie/television sets) and refurbishment + transportation is included in the price in some of the larger items (stained glass windows, for example). The rear portion of the shop also has a work area and I think they offer restoration classes. Definitely a unique place that fits in and adds to the eclectic vibe of Middletown. You might wander in to find yourself dazedly wandering out 75 minutes later.
