Two of us ordered a different pasta dish and they were great. One of us ordered a sandwich and it was phenomenal. Excellent cannoli and espresso. We told the staff we were visiting from across the river in Canada, which we do four or five times a year, and they were very friendly to us. Lots of products from Italy to buy, and we bought some dried pasta, extra virgin olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. A great choice for a delicious lunch. The decor is very cool.

My friend's House Sandwich was huge and filled with salami, arugula, roasted red peppers, and house-made mozzarella. Another friend's fried mortadella sandwich was incredible. And the fourth person in our party had a huge bowl of delicious ham and bean soup made in-house. We all had excellent espresso and superb cannoli. I have to mention the beautiful decor, which is very Italian islands. The place is a real treasure. Friendly staff, too. Dalfonso's is at 162 Allen Street in Buffalo, N. Y.

First visit - simple order Beef on Weck and a bowl of Split Pea and Ham soup. Ambiance is a hoot…read more Total 50s, 60s vibe. Was greet nicely. Food took a bit longer than I expected. As there was only 7 people waiting. But it turned out they were ordering food for their businesses or similar because most orders were for 4-more sandwiches. Which explained the wait. Demographic was definitely us Senior citizens. Bathroom is tiny but clean. All in all a very pleasant experience. Any time I'm in the area I would definitely stop by again.

I was introduced to Charlie the Butcher many, many years ago. My goodness, it was back in the 90's…read morewhen I was in college and patroned their express location in the Ellicott Square Building downtown. Their roast beef sandwiches were the best. The roast beef is so tender, they give you a good portion on the roll and there's a nice flavor, leaves me salivating. It's been quite sometime since I had one, I finally had some time and stopped at this location. I regret to say I'm disappointed in myself because I was stopping for a roast beef and ended up making the mistake of being spontaneous and ordered the grilled BBQ prime rib sandwich. I'm sorry, I didn't like it. So, this sandwich costs $15.99 (comes with nothing extra), it was also on a roll, there was no BBQ sauce (I assumed there would be) but it was just dry, plain, devoid of much flavor, they topped it with provolone cheese, a couple pieces of peppers and some onions but it didn't hit the spot for me. The Costanzo roll was overbearing. I learned a valuable lesson today, "stick with what you love about the place!" So, I'll be back for that roast beef another day. The inside is reminiscent of the local 80's fast food joints of Buffalo, I would call it a little shack. You walk in, lean back, look up at the menu, order and walk around to pay and pick up your food. There is a small seating area, a few booths to sit a party of four. Pick up your food at the counter after they call your name. Nothing fancy, just a quick little spot to eat.

I've been wanting to try their Sicilian-style pizza for quite some time, and my birthday cookie…read morereward finally gave me the perfect excuse to celebrate. They already have a fantastic thin-crust pizza, so I asked if they could make the Sicilian style with the muffuletta toppings. No problem at all. It took a little longer than expected (ordered for 4:45, ready at 5:00), but it was absolutely worth the wait. Ordering is easy online or by phone. If you get voicemail, just call back - they're probably on the phone with another customer. Now, about that pizza. The thick Sicilian crust had the perfect chew: light and airy inside with a crisp, golden bottom. Every bite was loaded with the bold salty toppings, bringing a savory, slight spice/pickled kick that paired perfectly with the oils and melted cheese. The toppings reached edge to edge, creating a pizza that was hearty, flavorful, and impossible to put down. Please pencil in a visit to The Deli on a Wednesday to grab one of their pizzas. I do recommend ordering ahead to claim your dough. This version reads like a Yelp review and really highlights the texture and flavor of a loaded Sicilian pie.

I had the Sting which features their handmade, always fresh, never frozen chicken cutlets. It also has their hot honey which isn't too spicy it gives it a good kick that compliments the rest of the ingredients. We also got the Art Corvalay which was absolutely amazing. Not only are their sandwiches great, the service here is impeccable. Can't wait to go back and try some more sandwiches.
