I love this place. We live right around the corner so this place is really convenient for us. They have a large deli counter with reasonably pricey meats and cheeses. I haven't had their subs yet but they have a giant board full of everything you can order and I definitely am going to have to try a sub soon. We ordered 2 fish fries on the first Friday of lent and we're lucky because they were almost out at around 7. The fish fries were excellent, especially since they were only $7.99 each. They weren't beer battered but still really good. I wasn't a fan of the cole slaw though. It came with fries and cole slaw and a piece of the bread. Not the best fish fry ive ever had but it was very good and for that price you can't beat it. I'll definitely be back to try the subs. Update: as I was writing this review I got hungry and ordered a sub. It was great. Perfect roll, delicious meat, fresh veggies. The price at 4.99 for a 12" was great. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Maybe this isn't a good thing but now I can't live without the steak egg and cheese breakfast hoagie. Wow. Will cure any hangover.

Total ripoff. Charged me hidden fees for using my credit card. No signage information about said fees. Avoid.

Naturally, I still find myself frequenting this Wegmans whenever I'm back in Buffalo. The Amherst Street Wegmans has a massive parking lot, though you would never know it during the peak hours. Between how popular this store already is and the addition of the Wegmans Wine & Spirits shop in the same plaza, it's usually pretty packed. You might not snag a spot close to the entrance but you'll find a spot. Might I suggest that patience is basically required, as with all things Wegmans. Once inside, I'm almost always overwhelmed (in the best way) by how much there is. Prepared foods, deli counter, meat and seafood, bakery, flowers, produce, frozen foods. You name it, Wegmans has it and they probably have a Wegmans branded version, too. I love browsing the craft beer section and, more recently, the growing selection of non-alcoholic options (Thank you, Wegmans!). Honestly, I can't complain. Yes, Wegmans can feel overwhelming, but now that I don't actually work there anymore, I've grown to appreciate the variety, freshness, quality, and pricing. The things I would do for Wegmans to come to the West Coast... until then, I'll keep savoring every visit to Weggies while I'm back home.

And then, part of the information is obscured. This was in the vitamin aisle, and the employee who I asked for help was busy shelf-stocking and made no secret of her annoyance with my questions. In quest of Vanilla Extract (something I've never bought before) I asked two different employees (after going over aisle 17/Baking Supplies with a fine-tooth comb) who had no idea what I was talking about. One insisted it was in the ice cream area! It's always something in that place. In the end, I wound up paying more than I should have but was fed up and just left. I love Trader Joe's and even though it's a relatively long drive, I will only go there from now on. Wegman's can go hang.

Cashiers are always friendly and during my most recent trip, almost all the registers were open even though I went during an off-peak time (1:30 on a Friday). The new safety precautions make checking out feel safe and easy, as they installed barriers at the checkouts, and floor signage to maintain social distancing. The other shoppers who were there at the same time as me were also respecting social distancing. Overall, this is still a great location and definitely one of the best, if not the best, Wegmans locations in the area!

I think it's bad business not to stand behind your products 100%! If I spend 8 or 9 bucks a pound for prepared food, it better not be old or tasteless. I tried to get a refund on some prepared egg rolls and rice that were bad enough to throw away and they would not even give me a credit, which surprised me. I couldn't tell by looking at the food that it was not fresh. I did not keep my receipt because I threw it out when I sat down to eat.

It's a decent sized market with all the usual staples. What really sets it apart for me is the upstairs space. I've hosted a couple of events here, and there's always been plenty of room and seating. It's never felt too loud, which is nice. I like that people can use the space however they want. When I go with friends, some order from the cafe, some grab baked goods, others just pick up a quick salad or something simple. It makes it easy for everyone to join in at whatever price point they can. Parking is usually good, though I've run into a couple times when the lot was full. Still, I'm glad they have a parking lot. The store is clean, the staff are friendly, and having that upstairs area takes it up a star for me.
