And would you believe this guy, "Lil Ralph", who has been working on cars & trucks for 28 years, not only quotes me 1/3 of their prices, but shows me the part, tells me he'll do the work "for a few bucks, whatever I can afford" and also shows me how to do it myself? What a humble, kind & compassionate gentleman! When's the last time you heard a mechanic tell you that & mean It? If you have to wait to get your car fixed, they have a cute little trailer office space; no WiFi though, sorry... bring a book or magazine to read. I replace the front wheel bearings on my car with the assurance the noise must be coming from there. Still, the noise continued. I took it to St Johns and they located the noise by lifting on the rack with wheels in motion. After they made the repairs, the noise was gone. I also mentioned that the suspension seemed to be warned. They checked that and found that the struts and stabilizers were all leaking. To further complicate the problem, the strut system was hydraulic and the cost to replace was quite expensive. Bill at St. Johns, spent several days finding an alternative conversion that was much less expensive. No other repair shop cared to take the time. I will ALWAYS take my car to ST. Johns for any extensive repairs. Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and fast.

They charge me $133 to run a scan tool on my vehicle told me they would waive the scan toll fee if I went and got the sensor and they put it in for me if it only took 20 minutes they'd only charge me 20 $40 came back. I brought it in to Haseleu's Transmission, and they ended up recommending I have Ward's diagnose the issue--as at first appearances it seemed to be an issue more on the electrical side. I brought it in to Ward's, and they were able to carefully track down the issue. Once they figured it out they carefully explained the issue so that I understood the problem and then their recommended plan of action. At that point they did not pressure me at all, but told me if at all uncertain about what way to proceed to not rush it and to take some time to think about it before deciding what to do. They wanted me confident and satisfied in the decision before making it and were fine discussing and researching different possibilities. Then, when an unexpected family emergency came up with one of their founders and they needed to pass the work back to Haseleu's to actually do they completely and absolutely refused to charge me for all the diagnostic work and time spent explaining things. When's the last time you felt you owed a mechanic something and he wouldn't take it? There are some first rate people and techicians there with integrity. Their warranty is also unparalleled... First, they honored the lifetime warranty that Napa and other auto parts places gave the alternator. Secondly, they gave a year longer warranty on labor than the local Toyota dealerships. Lastly, they have the best price. Replacing the alternator is nearly an $800 job. Because of the high expense, Adam took it upon himself to test it before simply replacing it. It turns out, it wasn't bad after all. My van has a lot of specialized driving equipment that allows me to drive, even though I am a quadriplegic paralyzed from my chest down. When Adam and his team were unsure how to troubleshoot some of the specialized equipment, he did not hesitate to call the handicap equipment company that built my van. They took the time to properly diagnose the problem and even helped me contact a local company specializing in the equipment installed in my van. Furthermore, they did not charge me for all their help! So instead of costing nearly $800 to replace an alternator that was not bad, I was able to replace a $26 backup battery that tied into my Specialty Equipment. I cannot speak highly enough of the team at Melvin's! Adam and the others treated us with respect, honesty, and like family.
