His expertise, style, strong relationships with a wide array of lenders, and team orientation (working very smoothly with my real estate agent and lawyer), made the mortgage process easy, securing a great rate for me. Despite the uncertainty of the current landscape, we were provided with frequent check-ins and guidance. Sean took the time to listen to us and to talk us through everything, and getting all our documents organized and uploaded felt pretty straightforward. Nicole and Sean were always impressively prompt in answering our questions and allaying our anxieties, and managed to get us rates that beat our local banks' by far! Our entire process was virtual, and we'd had little sense of what to expect before working with Sean. With larger institutions, I'd felt like just a number, but Sean really went above and beyond in helping us understand the process, as well as in advising us about how to proceed. Nicole and Sean definitely smoothed a complicated process, and we felt super lucky to work with them! Block has the best rates and the best service, and they really understand the NYC market.

It is quite important to ensure you have those skills in someone when you are a first-time home buyer. You will hit the lottery if you use Bobby Papadopulos as your loan officer. There are not enough words to express the upmost gratitude and satisfaction with his services or his team. There are so many people in this industry for quick cash and possibly the wrong reasons. Bobby is the complete opposite. I was more than defeated in the home loan process. After a random yet quick search on Yelp, I found Bobby and decided to message him. I see why he has five stars. Although skeptical, because who is perfect? I have seen perfection in his abilities. Bobby allowed me to call him at 7:00 AM, through tears and disarray coming from my end, he stated, "I will help you". My situation was far from easy, he decided to still help us. Through diverse companies not explaining the process or requiring funds without explanation, Bobby held our hands throughout this entire process. From day one to closing day and beyond, Bobby does not leave you. He takes the time to explain to you what is occurring, why it is occurring and how to ensure a successful closing, organize finances and better yourself. He is extremely patient and understanding. He has worked in his personal time to guarantee deadlines would be met and satisfied. Without being local to me, he communicated with agencies near me to get the work done. Five stars does not compare to the amount that he and Contour Mortgage deserves. He has completely changed our lives for the better. Bobby is someone I wish was in every field not just the mortgage company because he brings professionalism, kindness, and perception. If you are looking for a home, find a home with a person who cares about your wellbeing above all. That will shape your mindset for your new journey- Bobby is the person to set you up on the right path. I will highly recommend him to anyone and everyone.

If you want an overly-aggressive, super salesy, fast-talking, used car dealership type experience,…read morethese are your "every realtor in north Jersey recommends them" (but I have no idea why) by-default, go-to people. I spoke with 2 different reps over a 9 month period (basically tried switching reps to see if my experience was any different; it was not). They're all local NJ branches of a large mega-corp based out of California, so YMMV, but at least in the local Hoboken/JC/NYC metro area, there are a lot better options out there. Just call any established, well-rated, long-time traditional lender and you'll get much more low-pressure, personalized experienced than this chop-shop. Pretty sure everyone (including the most popular brokerages in Hoboken) just use them by default, either out of pure laziness/proximity or because "one hand washes the other," or simply from agents and clients not doing their own research to know that better options exist. Do your homework. There are plenty of better lenders out there. This is very much a "metro NYC experience," a rushed effort with little interest in actually taking the time to talk to you as a person, with a we-know-it-all, we're-the-best, just-trust-me-and-I'll-take-care-of-everything-and-how-dare-you-ask-me-questions attitude. Home buyers, you are not in the 5 boroughs anymore. This is New Jersey. Find a lender who will take time to thoughtfully and thoroughly explain all your options, answer your questions, give you a sense of the current market, and talk with you--not "at you" and over you. Tons of nicer and more patient, low-pressure lenders out there to deal with. And oh, BTW, their website is also clunky and buggy (couldn't even upload docs properly), and their rates were higher than most of their competitors too! P.S. I am closing on my condo this week, and it will definitely not be through loanDepot. Hard pass!!!
