I was in need of a contact renewal and I called different offices that were quoting me $250 for an exam and a contact prescription which seemed outrageous to me when I paid around $100 without insurance in the past for the same thing when Dr. Hill was at Costco. It was actually a Costco employee who told me Dr. Hill was still in town and just had a different location at Eyemart. I called and was quoted roughly the same price I was use to paying previously, which was terrific! The pricing was a wonderful find, but knowing I would be seeing a great dr again was, without a doubt, the most important aspect for me. I have been to two other optometrists the last couple of years since seeing Dr Hill, and none have compared. Today I had my appointment with Dr. Hill and he was so gracious and thorough, as he always has been. He actually listened to my needs and adjusted my prescription appropriately. I left smiling because my sight was so much better than when I arrived! The last dr I had seen somehow missed that I needed my prescription adjusted. Not only did Dr. Hill help me today, he helped my brother also who was in need of glasses. My brother hasn't been to an optometrist in quite some time, and he requires glasses for driving. His glasses had broken and he tried taping them together to get by until he could find a reasonable dr to update his prescription and get some new glasses. When I mentioned my brother's situation to Dr Hill and his assistant, they got him in this afternoon right away. My brother sent me a photo of his new glasses with a big smile, which made me smile again. I will be back! Thank you so much Dr. Hill for helping me and my brother out and being so kind and accommodating. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing an excellent and appropriately priced optometrist.

The office has a bit of an unusual layout, but the staff is super helpful at letting one know where to go next. In fact, this has to be one of the friendliest office staffs that I have ever encountered at an optometrist's office. They were all excellent. Dr. Lannin was thorough and professional, and explained everything in a kind and understanding way. I never felt rushed or like they didn't appreciate the fact that I had chosen their office. When I chose to get new contacts but not new glasses at this time, they did not try to hard-sell me, while still letting me know that this is a great place to get new glasses when I want them. I would recommend this office to anyone.

They are located in a beautiful building on the banks of the Sacramento River adjacent to Cypress Ave in Redding. The facility is large, clean, modern, and well laid out. On the bottom floor are the physicians, Ophthalmologists, Dr Michael Sumsion and Doctor Sean Sumsion. Not only are both of these guys great physicians, their bedside manner and interaction with patients and family is fantastic. Very down to earth, patient, and happy to explain things. I have seen both of these docs, and I would put them as some of the best. For reference I see physicians at both UCSF and Stanford and this practice is at that caliber of professionalism and competence. Upstairs is the Optometrist, Dr. Jordan Evans. He is truly one of the nicest people I have ever met. He is so kind and patient. I was trying to switch from just eyeglasses to Contact Lenses and my experience with him and his awesome staff was phenomenal. They were not in a hurry to move me through, they took the time to educate me, ensure that everything fit right, on multiple appointments. The bedside manner, caring, and interaction are all outstanding in my humble opinion. I am definitely a fan!

I was invited to sit in the waiting room where they have a small area for children. The whole waiting area was clean and well-organized. I don't know if I was taken back exactly at the time of my appointment, but it was very close. There wasn't a lot of waiting around. The first lady to help me was nice, and made me feel at ease, answering all the questions I had. I was taken to another room where I waited less then 10 minutes and the doctor came in. He seemed like a good guy, had a sense of humor, and was easy to talk to. He also answered my questions and had a good "bed-side manner" When it was time to pick frames out, the lady out there patiently walked around trying to help me choose a pair of frames that would fit me. I also had my wife with me, and the two of them found a few good pairs. She went down the details of what everything would cost, and explained all the different lens options. After all her work I changed my mind and decided to go with contacts (which I've wanted for quite a while)... She wasn't upset at all - she actually seemed excited for me, and helped schedule another appointment to be fitted for those. Great job Dr. Gallagher & Co!

I tell them the glasses are suppose to have "corrective lenses." In other words, I should have sharp vision, not fuzzy vision with my new glasses. I recently discovered while coloring with my head leaning to the left, that I can see clear and then when I straighten my head back up my vision is fuzzy. When I told Dr Young what I discovered he said he could fix that. He did just that, and now I see very clearly. It's crazy that NO other eye Dr checked this problem out when I complained about having fuzzy vision with new glasses on. They just said "you nee to get use to the new prescription." Well it's hard to get used to a prescription that's WRONG for my eyes. THANK YOU Dr Young, for giving me back my sharp, in focus, eyesight back. Barbara O. Cottonwood, CA
