I wasn't in search of a new hairstylist, as I love the one that I have gone to in the past…read more However, my go-to hairstylist is located in Wburg, so it takes a lot more coordination to make the trek to the other side of the water. My hair was so long and I was beyond annoyed with the length and definitely was in search of a new haircut. I asked my sister-in-law who she and my niece went to, and she referred me to Kayla at Sleek Salon & Spa. I submitted my inquiry on their website that night and that's where all the magic began. The inquiry was late, but I got a call from the salon mid-morning the very next day. The person who called me was so nice and answered my preliminary questions. It turned out that Kayla had availability that same day, so I jumped at the chance. - Kayla - My sister-in-law raved about her, so I was expecting no less. Kayla was super friendly when we met and asked what I had in mind. I also asked her the same out of curiosity lol... "as a hairstylist, what are you dying to do to my hair right now?" We came to an agreement (I wasn't feeling drastic this go around), but she did want to bring my hair back to a more healthy look. What I got: a haircut. She actually cut it twice, because the first time, she cut a few inches off, but I was being a little more daring and decided to cut another few inches off. I had so much hair! Due to my Asian heritage and the way Asian hair tends to behave, she suggested and asked that she reverse the process and cut my hair while it was dry, then wash and them blow dry. That was a great suggestion, because there weren't any surprises and it shows that she knows what she is doing! Result: The proof is in the pictures. I'll leave it at that. I must have lost a good 2 lbs just from the cut. It. feels. so. good. I ended up getting the leave-in conditioner that she used on my hair which was $47. A little steep, but it'll probably last me awhile. Things to note: - AVEDA products for sale only, unless AVEDA does not make a certain product. They have a mix of CBD products. - They are open late for working customers which I thought was very nice. I got an appointment at 7pm. - Stylist price varies according to education and experience. Kayla's haircut starts at $60 depending on texture and length, but my hair is in the middle, not thin and not that thick. I was charged $60, which I was so happy about because have you called around for haircuts these days? Kayla can take my money! - you can get $25 credit for referring new customers! The salon was pretty spacious too, and clean. Just a nice vibe. They don't play super loud music and play the chill vibe tunes, staying true to the word "spa" in their name. It's right next to Momo's Kitchen. They seem to cater to all ages too, because there were kids next to me getting their hair done also. Highly recommend, and enjoy, Friends, and never stop exploring!

This was my first time receiving a service at Bracha Salon and I couldn't be happier. I had a…read morehybrid extension installation (sew-in + tape-ins) along with a color service, and I am completely blown away by the results. I've worn sew-in extensions for over five years and had a lot of reservations about getting them again -- mostly because of comfort, styling limitations, and having fine/thin hair. But trusting Leilani and her team was the best decision I could have made. They are true artists and absolute masters of their craft. My install looks completely seamless -- no one can tell this isn't my natural hair. It looks thick, full, shiny and healthy. The extensions are so comfortable I can't even feel them, and for the first time ever, I can wear a high ponytail without anything showing (IYKYK!). They've completely reset my expectations for extensions, and I feel excited to keep wearing them long term. & as an added benefit this service included a kit of shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, and an extension brush -- everything you need to maintain your investment! If you've been on the fence about extensions or are looking for a team that truly cares about quality, detail, and the health of your hair, I can't recommend Bracha Salon enough.

I didn't leave an immediate review after my haircut because I wanted to take time and reflect…read morerather than write out of emotion. My hair has since grown back, and with clarity, I feel comfortable sharing my experience. I booked a haircut online for a listed price of $70. During booking, I shared a reference photo and explained in detail that my hair is very long and thick, and that I needed a stylist who would be patient and not rush the service. When I arrived, I re-showed the reference photo and reiterated what I wanted. Once I was in the chair, the stylist explained that she only has one hour per client. Despite this, the appointment felt rushed and disorganized. I know this because my service ran into her next client's scheduled time. That client waited for a period of time and ultimately canceled with her and worked with another stylist in the salon. While the stylist stated she only had one hour per client, my appointment ran well beyond that. My scheduled appointment time was 12:30 PM. I received a text at 11:43 AM asking if I wanted to come in early, and my receipt was sent to me at 2:13 PM. Even accounting for arriving early, this places my appointment at over two hours from start to finish--far longer than the one-hour window that was repeatedly referenced. I specifically asked for layered hair with shorter layers to help with the weight. Instead, I was given long layers, and my hair was thinned out without my consent ( as you can see the bottom portion of my hair is noticeably thin, compared to the top) . I didn't say anything at the time because the thinning had already been done and couldn't realistically be fixed. While my hair is healthy and grows back, the haircut I received was not the haircut I asked for. It wasn't "messed up," but it also wasn't what I requested. At checkout, the stylist leaned over and whispered to the receptionist, after which an additional $25 charge for thick/long hair was added. This charge was not discussed with me directly, despite my hair length and thickness being clearly disclosed before booking. After leaving a Google review outlining these concerns, the owner publicly accused me of never being a client and stated she stood by her stylist, without acknowledging the issues raised. Later that same night, I was contacted directly via text around 10:30 PM asking to "chat." That message was unsolicited and crossed a professional boundary, especially after publicly dismissing my experience. The outreach did not include an apology and felt more focused on protecting the business's image than addressing client concerns. I was polite throughout this entire process and even tipped my stylist. There was no malice on my end--just honest feedback. While my hair did grow back, not everyone is in that position, and an experience like this could be very upsetting for someone struggling with self-image. Ultimately, the lack of communication, consent, and professionalism--both during the service and afterward--is why I would not return and why I'm sharing this experience here for other women

Today, I had the pleasure of getting my hair done by the lovely Idelette Herbst, and let me tell you, she is a dream. She took the time to really listen to what I wanted and executed it flawlessly. Also, can we talk about the head massage she gave me during the shampoo? ‍‍She totally nailed my haircut, and I'm already counting down the days until my next appointment with her. Oh, and let me just say--the playlist was everything! At one point, I thought they were playing my personal playlist because every single song was one I listen to.
