While they were shaving my post I watched a worker take chunks out of the wood. I stated it needed to be fixed. the worker used wood filler that wasn't stainable. it's their job to know that not mine. I allowed them to do the work -I come back to a broken storm door completely bent screws missing that I had to fix myself- there was a gash in my wall on my stairs that I had to fix myself as well - no thank you from the company. there was a blemish on my floor right by kitchen- there was a stain in my closet -there was a stain in my dining room and my post going up my stairs was silver in multiple spots. I addressed this with the owner David Habib and he basically said well there's nothing that they could do nor did he offer any type of compensation. He said they would color it or try to blend it. He Didn't want to pay for the post that they ruined - so my husband said we would split it and we didn't have to. I told him the post could not stay like that/ it needs to be changed/ the post was on back order for three months. I told him when he came if he was going to take the post out I don't wanna have to deal with any more problems- he could not guarantee that. I could've been a bitch and said I don't care if it creates more problems if it creates more problems then you resand the stairs and you fix it but instead because I'm a good person I said I'll just leave the post like that after paying $7000 and I'll touch it up as best as I can thinking that I was preventing him from going into a bigger problem which indirectly wasn't my problem. the spindles on my stairs were taken out and never glued back: sent him a message about that got no response . I decided to call his partner Sean and tell his partner that where I come from this is not how people do business if the job is not 100% then I should be offered compensation and I'm not paying 100% of the bill. This wasn't one issue it was multiple. He came to my home clearly wasn't too happy about taking a dollar off the bill- he just wants to have imperfections in a home and not give a shit. offered a credit to the company and I said a credit will not be suffice. If you hire this company you better make sure the work is perfect because he will pretty much tell you to go fuck yourself and not give a shit about fixing it. My husband told him he needs to take $600 off the bill due to stains that I have to look at and live with for the next 15 to 20 years I think that was pretty fair. Both myself & my husband had no problem with anything else but had a problem with them not taking accountability for the multiple stains and markings that were on my floor after the job was done. we thought All was good but since David Habib had to finally move like a real businessman with morals he's mad- four weeks ago a worker dragged a box across my floor. nothing major the floor just needs to be buffed I sent multiple emails multiple text messages/multiple voicemails myself & my husband for five weeks to try to get in touch with them- they both ignored us. They want to appoint blame at the customer for having a reaction to their work the picture speak for themselves. Got a new company that wanted the color bc its custom - so consistently stated we need information & ignored on every attempt - finally Dave answers 6 wks later and says due to circumstances find someoneELSE to fix the job. His response was to carve out a piece of the sheetrock exposing the wood stud because the surge protector plug would not fit into the outlet. Besides this Steve was extremely rude to me. He told me not to speak to him in a very nasty way. It cost me extra money to fix his mistake! Never again! Let me clear up a few untruths you stated Steve trying to clean your record up: 1) We did not agree on your 'making covered outlet work' as stated in your rude text message to me'. Covering that outlet OUTSIDE the closet was a violation waiting to happen and needed to be fixed . You said the closet would stop a foot away from that outlet but you built it longer. 2) You were asked to place garbage AFTER job was complete or at END OF DAY when work was done. You made the bags so heavy that I could not carry to the street and I had to rebag them. I asked you to put the bags on the side of the house not in front...2 times..once for you, once for your helper! 3) You were asked if you wanted coffee or water 2 times in a day! You complained how other homeowners did not even offer you a drink of water after working in their homes all day. Why are you not complaining that I asked you what you and helper wanted for lunch and I paid for it for 3 days? 4) You told me NOT to come down into my own basement in my house! 5) Speaking nicely to your wife when you gave me estimate DID NOT translate into your being nice to me. Sad to say you were down right nasty especially before the last day! 6) Rerouting baseboard was only discussed as to whether it was okay to build a closet around it ! There was nowhere else to move the baseboard which mean the closet could not be built. 7) As for the outlet in another closet, you built it straight across to the wall when I asked you to build it so that the outlet would be exposed. After giving me a price you told me it would cost extra to build it shorter. 8) Last day of the job, who would blame me for not wanting to speak to you when you REFUSED to fix the closet on top of the outlet, when you were disrespectful in your attitude and tone of voice! 9) 8 months later review statement.... trouble walking/doing stairs due to medical procedures and finally surgery to ankle...finally the outlet is fixed but it took hours to unlodge from behind the wooden stud/ sheetrock and it cost me extra money! Thank you , Steve!!!! 10) Tops of closet where they meet the ceiling were finished showing spaces to the joists. Your closets were not amazing. Many companies would not pick up and if I left a message either not call back or call back weeks later. Anyway, Joe came to review all the items wanted help with such as a TV mount, a ceiling fan install, garbage disposal, driveway light install, etc and was very kind and patient with explaining everything we had to know. He then later emailed us a very detailed PDF estimate with all the information we could need on making decisions to move forward with the projects. This was great! A couple weeks later we reconnected with Joe and we scheduled him to come do the projects. My husband did a work from home while Joe worked away (since Joe owns this small business his hours are only on weekdays and not weekends).
