When I first visited Katarina I was in such terrible leg and back pain, and muscle tightness. I explained to her my situation, and we discussed what treatment plan would be best for me. She was very thorough, and took her time to explain everything to me as she evaluated me, and then treated me. After my first visit I already had relief. I continued on with my treatment plan. This was my first time getting acupuncture due to a chronic pain in my shoulder blade that went up to my neck. When I first called Acupuncture Therapeutics, I spoke with Katarina. I let her know I was a total newbie and did not know much about acupuncture other than it involved needles. She was very pleasant to speak to and patiently answered my questions. I came in the same week and she shepherd me through the process and that it should be painless (it was!). I was very pleased with my appointment and she made sure I was comfortable. The office and the rooms are very clean. I ended up getting five treatments for my pain. Katarina recommended this to me and advised that it would take a couple of treatments before I felt progress. I am now on my 3rd appointment, and can confidently say it helped. I still feel lingering pain, but it was definitely not as bad as it was before. The first treatment left me feeling dizzy, but I found out that it is normal. After my second treatment, the pain was not as much as an issue as it was before. I could turn my neck again, and didn't have sharp pain when looking up or down. I don't know if acupuncture can treat my problem 100%, but I am convinced after my recent visit that it is a great way to get relief for my pain if it continues. read more

I highly recommend Katarina to anyone suffering from pain. I went in for extreme sciatica pain that left me debilitated by it. Functioning at 30% of my normal capacity. Couldn't sit, bend or drive and let me tell you, that is beyond life altering. Katarina offers a peaceful space full of respect and healing. I am fairly new to acupuncture and have been seeing Katarina for a little over 4 weeks. I suffer from extremely heavy bleeding during my menstrual cycle due to large uterine fibroids (largest fibroid is 8.2 cm). After just 4 weeks of seeing Katarina, my symptoms have significantly improved. My menstrual bleeding has improved and my fibroids feel a bit smaller. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that acupuncture and prescribed Chinese herbs can really help with uterine fibroids. Definitely pass on coming back here. The acupuncturist was really rough and I've been going to acupuncture for years so I could immediately tell the difference. She doesn't really seem to question or ask much so I am not sure how thorough the application was. There's something about this place that just doesn't work for me. Upon arriving, there's no warmth or welcoming feeling from the practitioners and from some guy who was at the front desk one time busy looking at his phone. The practitioners don't seem to be on top of what's happening. They're busy managing too many different people at the same time and seem to be distracted. This is no bueno, especially when it comes to people with needles. And the practice itself seems unprofessional, they pull your socks off without asking, yank the "blanket" off you without asking and hurry through any massage type of modality. There's just an overall uncaring vibe. The energy there is low including from the people who are coming in for treatment. I tend to feel in an off mood every time I leave there. With so many places to choose from, there's really no need to go here. read more

Some history on me. I have severe anxiety and terrible neck to arm pain from working and stress. It got to the point where I could barely move my head. Massages and chiropractors helped a little but not much. When I met Katarina I was at an all time low. I also have really bad GERD but we haven't started my treatment for that yet. So far I am on my 5th treatment for neck, arm, hand pain and a anxiety. After the 1st session I felt fatigue and weak. I didn't feel any better but I know it takes a while to work. After the 3rd session my pain level went from an 8 to a 2 most of the day. It's only been about a week and a half since I started and I can't believe so much I've improved so far. My anxiety is better controlled now and I feel less stressed. I do still have anxiety it it's easier to manage and! I'm starting to sleep much better which I desperately needed.
