Wow! I saw Eva yesterday as a new patient (new to the area) and I can't wait to return. I'm writing this after a night of remarkably restorative sleep brought on by yesterday's acupuncture and cupping. Eva is the third acupuncturist I've visited since starting treatments over five years ago and I was incredibly impressed by her skill and the experience in general. I enjoy being able to learn about the process and Eva was patient in explaining things which was a big plus. She has a very comforting energy that makes relaxation a guarantee. Everything was clean and sterile, so patients should expect to feel safe in light of covid. Finally, I appreciate the ability to make appointments online. It's kind of bittersweet how effective this was! I loved my experience with Vito. He absolutely vaporized my shoulder pain with one visit. I experienced daily shoulder discomfort that made working out very uncomfortable and now I'm back to being fully functional. Eva and Vito left South Philly Community Acupuncture to open their own place, and I'm so happy I followed them! Eva has been taking care of me since I moved to Philadelphia. No matter what the ailment (usually joint pain, herniated disc pain, or period issues) she makes it better. She's an intuitive medical practitioner and she really knows her stuff. I trust her completely. Let's talk about the space itself. Because SWOON! It's so calming and beautiful, first of all, but the attention to detail! The bathroom has a fancy bidet and a foot wash. I spend possibly too much time in that bathroom. (I'm just going to buy a bidet for home. Everyone should.) My favorite detail is that they give you a little squeeze ball that rings a silent alarm if you're in the private room or lying on your stomach and you're ready to move--give it a squeeze and they're right there to take your needles out. Eva is the absolute best. A few months ago I was new to Acupuncture and began going to help in my fertility journey. Eva has a calm and reassuring presence that helps you really enjoy the acupuncture process. She also always has my favorite room ready for me with a window slightly cracked and the air filters on high to be extra careful due to covid. She even has a heat warmer on the table so I stay warm throughout the appointment. I can't say enough positive things about each and every appointment I have with Eva at this practice. I have had back issues for years that would bother me the most when I was walking. Doctors recommended steroid injections and possible surgery down the road. I wanted to avoid both and simply just put it off and dealt with the pain. I eventually decided to try acupuncture. After only a few sessions with Vito I began to notice drastic improvements. It hasn't gone away completely but it is much more manageable and has less of an impact on my every day life. I can't recommend Vito and Eva highly enough! I seriously tracked them down at their new practice when I saw that Vito wasn't at my usual place anymore. I've been going to Vito regularly for about 3 years now, and Eva was actually my acupuncturist for my first ever appointment, which was so awesome that I had to keep coming back. As someone who has a lot of chronic muscle pain, spasms, and knots that never seem to go away, I always leave feeling awesome. Vito is the only person I could find in the Philly area who practices a dry needling style of acupuncture, which targets muscle knots that I can't ever seem to get to. If you want something more mellow, though, both Vito and Eva offer a full range of styles. You can book private appointments, but for cash-strapped people like me, they've got community acupuncture pricing based on income ($30 if you make under $50,000/year, $40 if you make more). Although there are other people on acupuncture tables in the room with this option, you don't notice at all (and yes, clothes stay on). Although I've never had a private appointment, I always feel like I'm given the same level of time and consideration as if I was paying twice as much. Seriously, sometimes I feel guilty about the level of service I get for the price! Their new space is beautiful, and I promise if you're new to acupuncture, they're the perfect people to walk you through it without feeling intimidated, in addition to being super down to earth (I've heard that some places can be a little over the top with the hippy-dippy vibes). I've been going to Eva for over three years--and no matter what's troubling me, she's always able to help. She's a kind and lovely person and a gifted acupuncturist with a warm, playful vibe and a gentle touch. I haven't been to Vito but I've heard great things about him as well. And their space is gorgeous! Very comfortable and calming. They offer private sessions but I always go community--I'm a fairly private person, but there's something soothing about being in a room with a handful of other people relaxing simultaneously. (There are also white noise machines and soft music, so I don't find the other patients or occasional whispering at the start of a treatment distracting.) If you've never had acupuncture, this is an excellent place to get started. Let me start this review by saying I'm somewhat of a skeptic. And by somewhat, I mean I question practices like Accupuncture and chiropractors all the time. There have by 3 instances in my life over the last year where I was in so much pain, I was unsure how I would make it through the day. After multiple Accupuncture recommendations from multiple friends, I decided to give it a try. Boy was I wrong to doubt it. This is the cutest little place and Eva has been a lifesaver for me! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I can't live without it - I go once a week! I have been going to her for almost 2 1/2 years now - first for fertility and headaches, then for allergies and anxiety, and she's helped with all of it! They do a variety of techniques - regular acupuncture, cupping, moxa, and Eva always uses Badger balm to massage my shoulders or neck before I leave (for headaches). I have recommended her and Vito to everyone. Since it's community acupuncture, it's really affordable - only $30 if you make under $50K a year, but all community acupuncture means is that you're in a large room and other people are in the room too. There are several massage tables, well spaced, and everyone is silent and doing their own thing (mostly resting or sleeping). It's a warm, comfortable space and I always fall asleep. (They also have private rooms available if you prefer.) They did a major makeover of their space and it's sleek and modern - sexy black bathroom, calming music and tall ceilings. They seem to have thought of everything - comfy couches in the waiting area, an area for coats and boots, ginger tea and a water cooler. read more

As a bodyworker I have sent many clients with gross mechanical issues to Vito over the years with great results. Last week after spending 16 hours in the ER my partner found out she has several bulging disks and nerve compression from spinal stenosis in the cervical spine. This was causing severe nerve related pain going down her arm that was not addressed with steroid, or other pharmaceutical suggestions. The ER only had suggestions of pharma based pain management and surgery to offer. I booked her an appointment with Vito, she protested but complied saying she thought it was a waste of $. Thorough intake complete with physical tests to narrow the scope of focus followed by a few minutes of trying various positions to find the most comfortable option for her during treatment as lying supine and prone was tear inducing. 19 points where stuck and 1/2 hour later the stress of constant pain and sleeplessness had vanished from her face. She slept comfortably all night long and three days later still has full range of motion with her neck and significantly reduced pain in her neck and shoulder. Vito was warm, welcoming, understanding thoughtful and on point! Upon returning home my partner asked how to make acupuncture a regular part of her regular health practice. Eva has the magic touch. After a difficult pregnancy followed by a c-section and weeks of nursing around the clock, my back was in near-constant pain and my whole system felt haywire. Last fall I was about to go on a 10 day road trip in California that I had been planning for months. About 4 days before I was scheduled to leave, I did something inexplicably painful to my neck. I simply could not move. Every centimeter I moved was agony. I went to the ER, got a cortizone shot, helped a little, muscle relaxers, didn't help at all. Plus it cost me $500. My brother suggested going to AOB. I figured I had to give it a try, nothing else worked. 3 visits, one with Eva and two with Vito, and I boarded the plane. Pain basically subsided after 3rd visit.
