So my take is come here and swim with the dolphins otherwise you will be greatly disappointed, but the area is still worth a visit in itself. Like others have mentioned the photos packages are more expensive than the experience itself, but when are you going to have the chance to have a photo of swimming with dolphins again (they know it!) I bought 2 photos and called it a good experience.

Again it isn't an all day experience but it's a nice escape from the heat of the day!

She made everything easy. Staff at the dolphin encounter were friendly and professional. Love learning about the dolphins! The only complaint would be the girl who let me through the entrance there was a bit rude in rushing me through. She told me abruptly that the group was waiting for me so I didn't get to browse the aquarium until after and had to backtrack but still a star experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Cancun!

It also happened to be the day after mine and my Husbsnds 10th Wedding Anniversary and we had such a great time! Being with the Dolphins in their natural habitat and not in a tank was amazing and the animals so loving. We got the couple's package which was 45 minutes of playing with a Dolphin dedicated to us while one of the keepers showed us how to interact with them before doing a duel swim with 2 of the Dolphins and of course the foot push. We ended up also getting the top tier photo package ($328 after 20% resort discount) which is 2 printed pictures in frames, a folder of 12 printed pictures and a disc drive with all of the pictures taken plus 8 minute video. If you're contemplating it.. DO IT! One of the best experiences! Couples package is $399 (or $299 if you're staying at Ventus / Marina) and includes towel and T-Shirt.

Taxi to the destination was separate and $15 each. When you arrive, they have you watch 5-10 minutes of safety + general environmental awareness videos before putting on life vests. Then you walk to the pool and get into the water. There is a guide and photographer with you the entire time, and closely guides the dolphins on what to do. Dolphins did some cool stuff - flips, leg push, got to touch them, but nothing crazy and wasn't as personal as I expected even in a small group of 2-4. After the dolphin visit (around 45 min - 1 hour) then comes pictures. They take you to a room and try to convince you to pay $210 USD for 10 pics, and the packages get more expensive from there. I personally did not want to buy the pics, and felt pretty harassed about this. Would rather just leave after the visit next time. Not sure if I'd recommend. It was cool to do once, but definitely pricey and probably better places you could go.

Visited this facility on a cruise ship excursion. They offer dolphin, manatee, and sea lion…read moreencounters. I did the manatee and sea lion encounters and found the experience absolutely amazing. I was hesitant to go because I know that many companies like this aren't very humane to the animals. After visiting, I can't speak credibly about how this specific company is with the animals. However, I was happy to see that the dolphins and manatees were in large ocean-based pens. Also, the first manatees my group got in the water with weren't in the mood to interact. The tour operator moved our group to different manatees- definitely the right move to not force them. Some of the things I did in addition to the animal encounters were, 1- watch the sea lion show, 2-swim in their pool, 3- eat at the Dolphin View restaurant. All three of those were solid. In particular, hopping in the pool after visiting the sea lion habitat which didn't feel super clean (but was probably appropriate for the animals). The food at Dolphin View was good. Not mind blowing, but was included in the tour and included margaritas (yum!). There is a rental fee for lockers and the experience/cost of buying photos is horrible (as I anticipated). The photo packages are exorbitantly priced. However, they are somewhat negotiable if you begin to walk away. You aren't allowed to take your own photos. So, be ready to pay if you want them! Also, bring sandals or water shoes if you are visiting with dolphins or manatees. The ground is hot and the deck is splintery. Also, it is a long walk and you can leave your sandals on the dock. The ocean based in-water landing is slick, mossy, and is rough on your feet. So, water shoes are a great move if you want extra protection. Overall, I liked my visit and will cherish getting to interact with the animals. The interactions were long and there were multiple photo ops with the animals. I mean- who doesn't want a manatee kiss?! I had fun.

That's was a plus! However the food? Was .. not explemplory. I had no issue (in theory) eating outside as we were wet. BUT the sewage smell was VERY unpleasant. I found the NO PICS to be very sketchy. I mean I get wanting to make money off the pics they take, which is completely what it is. But I can't say I agree with it. I was under the impression it was for animals safety, but that is not the case. I went to take a pic (while out of the water and walking away from the experience area, and was told sternly "NO PICS"!!! Which of course I complied. But it left a bad taste in my mouth. The decking around the animal experience needs some tending to as there are many places with weak boards. Now (other than picture girl) the rest of the staff were welcoming knowledgeable and very nice!!! The pool area and swim up bar was refreshing and cool (it was August so super hot). As a little trip with low expectations? It's an ok time. I got to touch and interact (for 5 mins "- that's the time frame given) with manatees and the dolphins also came up to be pet which was a nice surprise and welcomed!! The sea lion show was cute!
