I have to say without a doubt, this team of professionals are by far the most knowledgeable and…read moreeffective with their skin care services. Candice and her team give excellent advice, and I truly appreciate them. Michelle

As a previous reviewer, Meredith had mentioned, Candice does an ok job (from the one time I…read moreactually had a service- I had no time to assess what she was really like), but her interpersonal skills are lacking to say the least. And this, in the end makes such a HUGE difference. I also own my own business and have a degree in Marketing and Business Management. Customer Service can make or break a business. So no matter how "good" the product is, if your customer service skills are lacking, you'll lose in the end. As Vince Lombardi said, "It takes months to find a customer, seconds to lose one." And in this day and age where so much is word of mouth, it can be a millisecond when treated badly. In this small town, bad customer service severely hurts businesses. I went in to see Candice the first time a few weeks ago and she was a little cold when I walked in. It was all business. Not much eye contact. I thought it was strange considering it was my first time in. She did an ok job. She seemed rushed. But I wanted to give her another shot for a different service. I had a family emergency a few weeks before with someone in the hospital with a stroke and so I cancelled with her a little over 48 hours in advance and rushed to the hospital in AZ. She said, "Ok" on a text; no "so sorry to hear that" or, "When would you like to reschedule?" ....It was just, "Ok". So I had to reach out to her to reschedule later. No biggie. I just rescheduled. I did think it was weird though. It was like she was doing ME a huge favor. But it was the second time that I came in that really started the ball rolling in negative impact. I came through the door and Candice was in the back and she was in a flurry of emotions. She had a family emergency and was shaking and crying a little. Which I get! She said she just wanted to get out of there to be with her son who may have had covid. I could totally empathize having just gone through an emergency. She said she could still do it, but was shaking and kept saying, "I have no time to numb you!". I told her that family comes first and to please just attend to her son and we could reschedule. I had cleared my whole day for this, but I totally understood. She handed me a container of lidocaine and told me to numb my own face 40 minutes before coming in next time...um...ok...I've never numbed myself but...ok...I just was worried for her and her son. Little did I know that from hearing from others, that she has a temper in general. We confirmed a time for me to reschedule by text and I put it in my phone. Only, I put it in as a half an hour later by accident. So, there I was on the morning of my appointment, numbing my own face (with no instruction from her on how to do this exactly), and I get a text with her saying that she would not take any clients 10 minutes late. Hmmm...I realized my mistake and called her to ask if I could still come in (it was 15 minutes past at that point). She was so angry and said she was "annoyed" at me and said that she "wished me luck" in finding a new provider and no goodbye. Wow. So it seems to me that she slams her clients in there back-to-back and has them do their own numbing. It seemed so strange to me at the time, but now I understand because she books her clients back-to-back and doesn't waste her time numbing clients and has them do it themselves. Word to the wise, do not get on her bad side. She has zero empathy for you. She just wants your business. Too bad. I really wanted to give her another try.

After flying from NY to Reno on Thursday for a family weekend wedding in Tahoe, I woke up Monday…read moreand couldn't move. The dancing, the drinking and the travel had won. I was defeated. I was depressed. I was going to be worthless for my last day in Tahoe with my mom. I had done it to myself, but still - this was not acceptable. My body, my brain and my bones were like sludge. I had overdone it, and needed help. Fortunately, Van Harding was able to see me that afternoon at his clinic. After a brief consult, he went to action using a combination of acupuncture needles, heated table/heat lamp and craniosacral therapy to revive me. I've had acupuncture many times, and he had a nice touch, making sure I was comfortable. Then he put on some soothing music and I was out. I floated to some magical restful place for a while. When he came back, he tweaked the needles and worked on my neck and shoulders, lower back and sacrum. Craniosacral therapy is a different from conventional massage (using a lighter touch) but the effects were immediate. I suddenly had energy again. I popped off the table like I'd been raised from the dead. I was so chatty, my mother was amazed. I was finally awake enough to take in the clinic, which is a lovely, zen space. Once alert, I finally noticed the books on the console. "The Brain That Changes Itself." Love that book! It is a relatively obscure favorite of mine, but there it was. We got to chatting and...holy cow. As a health and wellness wonk ( listener of Tim Feriss podcast, Bulletproof Radio and neuroscience nerd), I noticed the unusual equipment in the treatment area. Van mentioned the 'Interactive Metronome' - a piece of brain tech I'd heard about and always wanted to try. My wish was his command, and Van gave me an appointment for the next day. But first? I had an amazing night of sleep. I slept from 9pm-6am straight. As a chronic restless sleeper, it was the best night's sleep I'd had in months. I was in heaven. Those of you who struggle with sleep will understand this rave. I came back the next day, and went through one of the Interactive Metronome exercises. It was fascinating to learn this perspective on neurology and brain timing, and my mother - a Lumosity addict - tried it as well. The process was painless and the effect was fast. My mom and I were both more alert. and had increased bandwidth for engagement after the mini-session. I was definitely impressed, and am eager to come back and try more of Tahoe Neuro Healing toys. Having helped heal himself after a stroke, Van Harding's knowledge of the brain/body connection is impressive. In two visits, I only scratched the surface. Although he works with clients who have more intense neurological issues - stroke, ADD, Parkinsons, MS, ALS and even schizophrenia - I found his knowledge into me and my body to be profound. Van is a gifted and knowledgeable healer. Forgive the long rave, but anyone with an interest in enhancing their wellness and brain/body connection should check out Van Harding and Tahoe Neuro Healing. I was able to enjoy quality time with my mom and actually feel well for my last day and a half in the Truckee/Tahoe area. Time is precious, and I'm so grateful to Van and Tahoe Neural Healing for restoring me so quickly so I could enjoy time with my family.
