Over the past few months, our 3.5‑year‑old dog faced several serious health challenges, including being diagnosed with Addison's Disease, and Dr. Vannini guided us through each one with compassion, patience, and unmatched expertise. She and her team cared for and healed our dog, educated and supported us throughout, and ultimately saved his life. Dr. Vannini's wisdom, depth of knowledge, and calm, thoughtful approach are truly exceptional. This isn't an option for everyone as I am a stay at home girlfriend so I was able to be with her all day long. Very affordable, reasonable and the staff is amazing. I am glad we came here! We had called around to multiple vet facilities in the area and ALL of them were nearly TRIPLE the price for the same kind of visits. For her surgery we were quoted nearly 10k at another vet clinic the surgeon here worked at. We could not afford that in any capacity at such a short notice(24hrs). The difference here is that the staff did not try to pressure us into the surgery. They let us come to the decision on our own(it WAS a hard decision as we want to give our animals the best care) and worked with us on what we could do! I wouldn't go any where else after this experience. 1000/10. All together, it was around 2k. We came in once a week, then eventually once every 2 weeks. Today she got her splint off! Yay! Thank you MVAH!!!

The calming environment helps reduce the stress of vet visits, and the breathtaking mountain views add to the serene atmosphere. Parking is easy and convenient. The first-time appointment costs $160 total, which felt a bit steep for the Reno area. It requires a $50 deposit to book the appointment, with the remaining $110 due on the day of the visit. New clients should also expect to wait a couple of months for a first-time appointment, depending on the veterinarian. The staff and nurses are incredibly sweet, welcoming, and professional. I enjoyed meeting Dr. Brown she seemed knowledgeable and caring, and she took plenty of time to address my concerns and answer my questions. During our first appointment, I was hoping for a more holistic approach to my dog's care, similar to the philosophy of Dr. Karen Becker (author of The Forever Dog). I was looking for guidance based on peer-reviewed studies around raw diets, nutrition, natural lifestyle choices, and all-natural prevention for longevity. Instead, after some initial discussion, the conversation quickly shifted to the standard recommendations for vaccines and flea/tick medications. I was a bit disappointed by that. After the appointment, I was referred to a local nutritionist and recommended for a dental cleaning. However, the estimate for dental cleaning, bloodwork, titer tests, and vaccines came to nearly $4,093.85, which shocked me. Because of the high cost, I decided to seek more budget-friendly and pragmatic options at another local veterinarian for vaccines and dental work, and I'll likely continue there to keep expenses manageable. The communication process also felt confusing and unnecessarily complicated at first. Everything is handled through text messages that link to the patient portal on their website. While the team usually responds the same day or within 24 hours for non-urgent messages, the back-and-forth and need to navigate the portal made simple tasks like scheduling the dental cleaning and receiving the diet recommendation -- feel frustrating. As someone who prefers more traditional, direct communication (such as a quick phone call), this system was challenging for me. Overall, it's a solid practice with great people and a lovely facility. It's luxury with a premium price for pet care. I especially appreciated the thoughtful welcome card they mailed to me with everyone's signature -- that was a nice personal touch. They could improve by streamlining their communication, offering more competitive pricing, and reducing wait times for new patients. I'd consider returning in the future with some hesitation, particularly if they can provide more reasonable rates and a stronger focus on holistic care in line with Dr. Karen Becker's philosophy in The Forever Dog. With an unlimited budget, I would happily go back.

Dr Tsai had diagnosed my little guy with kidney failure in mid July . Her bedside manner was absolutely awful but the reason I kept going were Dr Miller and the vet techs (Courtney and Jade) and front staff were amazing with my little guy. I took him every single day for about two months for them to give him fluids and treatment. I saw a rapid decline this past Friday night with him, but I knew that I had an appointment the following day and I text one of the vet techs, and she said for the doctor to take a peek at him. Well, the following day when I got there, the vet tech said she was gonna pull Dr Tsai aside in between her appointments. I'd even got there 45 minutes early knowing we may need more time. There was still an hour plus left to the day. I'm right outside the door to where they are and I can overhear the vet tech ask Dr. Tsai can I pull you for a quality of life for Beau. She said "I have no time for a euthanasia". I couldn't really hear what the vet tech responded but ultimately i was told Dr Tsai did a quick check and said he's not doing well but he will have to wait until Thursday bc there were no appointments, which was six days away. This would be for euthanasia bc that was the only time available. That did not sit well with me, but this was not the vet techs fault at all. Again - vet techs should be paid more and running that office, they care more. Dr Tsai could clearly see a rapid decline and a dog who was suffering. She had seen Beau a few times since July and there was absolutely no way she can dismiss the signs he was showing. Beau got his fluids and meds and we went home. I want to mention that When we presented to Dr. Tsai, Beau no longer had ability to use his back legs. He was lethargic. He had not ate and only drink water once. And she still decided to let him go home. That to me is some sort of violation of the oath that she's taken to be a doctor. I'm really upset still that he suffered an additional 24 hours before I ended up taking him to foothill Farms veterinarian where they kindly made time for him. Even though I was not one of their patients. Dr. gonzales there looked Beau over and said he definitely was in decline and she did a test for neurological problems that he did not pass that which means that he was suffering and in pain more than I knew. Had Dr. Tsai taken that time to do this quick check I would've taken him earlier to peacefully go. Foothill was so kind to my Beau and gave him a gracious and peaceful passing with dignity and respect that he DESERVED. I'm so disappointed in Meridian for allowing Dr Tsai to do what she does because it's obviously not the first time. Read the reviews. The negative ones are about her. I struggle with continuing care for my other dog here at Meridian based off of the lack of care and cold heartedness from Dr. Tsai. However, that may have worked in my favor because if she would've been as so coldhearted during his last hour of his life, I probably would've lost it on her. Everyone in that office has been kind, loving, compassionate, and friendly. I love Dr Miller and Dr Staam is great too. Courtney and Jade (vet techs) are the absolute best I've ever encountered. Jamie and Grace at the front desk are the best ever. Again. Everyone is great except dr Tsai. Yes my emotions are heightened but these babies rely on us for help and to be their voice and she flat out dismissed him. Shameful.

An upgraded treatment was added to their service without their approval, which increased the price. When it came time to pay, my parents paid with a $200 bill, but they were not given their full change back. $60 was kept without their permission. When they asked about the missing change, they were told to excuse themselves. I personally confronted the owner/employee about the situation and asked for $30 back out of the $60 that was owed to my parents to be returned. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, she became angry with me and asked me to leave and continued to argue in her language . As if a 20% tip was not enough for her service. Regardless of the service itself, customers should be informed before being charged for an upgrade, and they should receive the correct change from their payment. This experience was very disappointing and took away from what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration. I hope the business takes this feedback seriously and handles situations like this more professionally in the future.
