Took the online Co-star, Commercial, and Improv Workshops a few times throughout the year, and my skills have def improved, specifically my slates and ability to really be myself in my auditions. I have to admit that every time I take his class, I'm shaking because I get so nervous doing improv and talking about myself, but Michael is so real and gives it to you like it is, with love and so much genuine support. He really wants to see you win and puts his money where his mouth is 100% of the time. My commercial booking rate increased substantially during 2020, which was surprising to me because of the pandemic. However, the skills he teaches are super practical. This was my highest callback and booking year and I am also now repped by an incredible Commercial agent. I highly recommend actors take these workshops because it's a great way to get out of your comfort zone and really discover yourself in the process. read more

Actors Ave Acting Studio - Commercial Workshop - Specialty Schools Near Me - North Hollywood, California

This is an excellent acting class and highly recommended, the only problem is that the prices have gone up a lot and there is a giant waiting list and it is very difficult to get into the classes. If you can do it though it is very much worth it. read more

This is such a convenient way to keep your acting chops sharp. Michael goes fast and is like a clinical doctor. He tells you what you need to work on and moves on. So glad this is available online! I look forward to taking more classes here! read more

I decided I needed to dive into the world of zoom acting workshops--which I was 100% not looking forward to tbh. BUT my introduction into this new world was a great experience with the Co-star Workshop. Michael is straightforward and honest (which I appreciate), nice and clearly has passion for this industry. Being instructed by a working actor helps you to feel like you are getting very current instruction---not outdated concepts. We did several scenes, and each time it felt personal and focused. Looking forward to another opportunity! read more

Michael is a terrific teacher, and it shows in all his students' bookings. Highly recommended!

Love this studio! Have been training with them for almost a year and have seen so much growth in my work. Thanks Actors Ave!

Recently took a 4 hour CO-STAR workshop. The class went over 10 minutes because we were learning so much and having fun. We work really hard but the gratification of the knowledge Mike Petrone gives us is priceless. Mike looks young but he has over 30 years of experience. I am writing this review only because i want to help my fellow actors but i am happy keeping this knowledge to myself. Don't ask me why his classes are so inexpensive because all i can think if is when you have had the success he has and keep going strong, you want to pass on the knowledge and watch others succeed because his method works. You work hard in class and twice as hard on your own but he tells you how it's done. In 7 full months i've had about 70 auditions, which i thought was impressive. The truth is having 5 callbacks in the month of July '22,that's impressive! Now we'll see how many i book in the next 7 months.Stay tune! read more

Took the online co-star class and it was amazing. Michael is a great teacher and I learned so much. He gave us 3 different scenes and had us work them, then watched it back and go notes. This showed met strength and the areas I need to work on. Would definitely recommend to any actor looking to level up their game. read more

I started with Mike when I was about 9 years old and stayed with him for a little over 6 years, booking left and right. Without a doubt I was put ahead of the pack of my age group because of his insightful teaching and dedication. He is personal, professional, honest, direct, wise, and a working actor. I am now 22, ready to graduate college. Even though I took a hiatus from my acting career for college, I frequently think about Mike and how much confidence he gave me. He is that unforgettable. Once in a while, I'll drop in when I am not buried in books and I am greeted like no time has passed. Its a great community. I could honestly write a book on how awesome this experience is. This class and this teacher is by far the best. Highly recommend. I would give Mike 6 stars if I could. read more

This class will challenge you in every way, no matter what level of an actor you are. Michael approaches acting technique from a practical "real world" standpoint, like it will be on set. Thus, his actors leave class feeling increasingly ready to act at a professional level. Additionally, Michael is a straightforward but fair teacher, the class environment is friendly & warm, and his students improve fast! If you take this class seriously, you'll definitely see results. read more

Mike is a great teacher with tons of real experience. Highly recommend! I started Mike's class a couple months ago when a friend and I (neither of us actors) decided to try something new and daunting. The idea of acting and participating in a class terrified me, but I don't like to let fear stop me. So we researched and found Mike Petrone's great reviews and site with info on his method. From the first class I was hooked. I was nervous but everyone in class worked like a team and Mike was focused on everyone as individuals. Everyone in class agreed Mike's class is the best. It's challenging but also rewarding. We covered commercial, theatrical and improv all in that first class, and all on camera. A lot of classes separate these causing additional fees. Mike knows all practices will benefit you, so we work on everything. I went from not being an actor to signing with a commercial agency in under two months. If you're an actor or if you want to improve your self-confidence or public speaking, I highly recommend Mike Petrone. read more

I have taken the improv workshop and the commercial workshop and I learned a lot in both! It is definitely worth the money. You get to work on camera multiple times and also get to review all of your work at the end of class which leaves you knowing exactly where you're at in your craft and what you need to work on moving forward. Michael is an encouraging acting coach. He is positive, funny, and respectfully honest! I'm so glad that I found Actors Ave and can't wait to continue my training with them! I love that Michael is so knowledgeable and that he focuses on helping you both commercially and theatrically! All of the fellow actors in class are super supportive as well. read more

I found this studio during the pandemic and it was online classes, which I was skeptical about. No need to be skeptical, this class is amazing and has made me a better actress but also a better person. Coach Mike is amazing and doesn't ask his students to do anything he wouldn't do. He's in the business and knows it well, doesn't bull shit you... makes you want to come to class and WORK! Just trust me and go take any of his classes. read more

Mike has an incredible attention to detail when it comes to technique and on camera skill. Mike is extremely passionate about the craft of acting and the desire to help actors understand how to utilize their emotional ranges and abilities to enhance their tools. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to work with Mike, as he has helped in so many of my auditions, booking, and on set work!! read more

I've been training with Mike Petrone for over two years, and I recommend it for anyone looking for a new class. Everyone works multiple times on a variety of drills and materials. Mike pushes with exercises and drills that I'm not sure I'd press myself to do on my own - like cross training for my acting muscles. The structure of the classes lets Mike coach to where each actor is in their development. The bottom line is that he's helped me to become a more confident actor with more fluid access to the tools of my craft. read more

If you want to find a place where you can grow as an actor AND as a person, this is the place to be. Mike is a remarkable instructor that can help guide and train you in ways you would have never thought of. Michael Petrone is someone who teaches for the love of it, and it shows in his work, patience, and excitement in each tiny and large bit of growth he sees in his students. Passion and knowledge are the most important qualities a teacher needs, (in my opinion), and Michael Petrone has both of them pouring out of his pores! For this reason, I say... try him, he won't disappoint. If he does, it's because you're just not ready yet... :) read more

I have known Mike for a while. As an active producer of film and television, I will send any potential host or actor that needs extra coaching to him. I don't have a lot of time for achieving results. Mike delivers every time. But he is a results driven person. He won't waste his time with someone who won't do the work. If you have a passion, are willing to push yourself to be better, and will do what it takes, RealtoReel will work well for you. read more

I went to Mike for a couple of years. His prices are great, and he gives you more knowledge and challenges you more than any place you could pay thousands for! I learned more than I ever imagined in his class and saw huge improvements. read more

If you want to learn practical acting techniques and get work in this business, Mike is the class for you. You get to work at least 2-3 times a class. He challenges you with your memory, emotions and just being real and learning how to talk. If you want a scene class, with character development, performing on a stage, this is not the class for you. Mike is a straight shooter and will give you his honest opinion and help you grow. He makes you realize that acting is as complicated as other classes make it. While it is a lot of hard work, he breaks it down in a very simple way: FEEL AND JUST TALK. He cares about all of his students and if you show him that you are willing to work hard, he will go out of his way to help you with any career coaching you need. This is one of the best classes in LA and you can not beat the price! It is def. worth at least coming by for a FREE audit (what do you have to loose, right?). *** He has a kids class Sat morning too! read more

I am new to acting and had a friend highly recommend Mike's class. This class has changed my life. Mike is an incredible teacher and I feel so fortunate to have found this class. Mike is the best. He gives you confidence while pointing out what you need to do better to BOOK IT! Liz M.

If you want to book the jobs and learn "the craft", "technique" and practice tools to add to your "talent" enroll in classes with Mike. In less than a year, my memory has improved to the point where it (almost) isn't an issue yet. He's given me actor "scales" that I can practice at home. Every class is 2 - 4 filmed events: commericial, guest star and/or costar breakdowns, and emotionally activated improvs. You get coached filmed and then watch and critique the playback. He's tough, specific and supportive! What more could you want? read more
