Classic arcade room
Joshua B.

This is a report from my visit last night This summer, they're running $1/string Wednesday nights after 7:30. At about 8:15, the lanes filled up so that was good to see. The music from the performer taking advantage of open mic night was way too loud, so my wife and I finished our second game and paid. Throughout our time there, generally, you'd go to the counter and wait until someone noticed you and came over. I was told the bowling was $2 but I reminded the guy we bowled 4 games so I'd pay him $4. My wife went to the restaurant and ordered a BLT which was good but she said the fries weren't. I played Ripley's Believe It Or Not pinball. The left slingshot wasn't working and the third flipper was a little weak. Otherwise playing nice. The Star Wars Pinball 2000 machine had the same dead left slingshot issue. They're down to four pins right now. The other two are South Park and Monopoly which was down. It looked like the bank was being fixed. Then I went to the new classic arcade room that they're putting together and talked to Josh who is very excited about it. They have a nice collection, but as of last night, only about half are playable. I have high hopes for this room. Josh also says he's moving the pinball machines into this room. I played Phoenix, Spy Hunter (upright) and Ms. Pac Man. Also working are Missile Command, Donkey Kong, and Centipede. Non-working but there are Pac-Man, Galaxian, Beer Tapper, Krull, and Defender. I think I'm missing one. One piece of great news: The redemption prize counter is in its own room, far away from the main counter. Candlepin bowling is fun, but a little expensive. It's awesome that the Drome offers cheap bowling Wednesday nights. My only complaint is that the open mic performance was way too loud for comfort.

Two empty lanes, yet a wait??

It took 10 minutes just to order our food at the Burgerdrome inside the place, with only one other customer inside. Crazy!! Then it took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive, just burgers and fries, what the heck!! When my bill arrived, the waitress overcharged me everything by 50 cents; when I inquired why, she said it was "meals tax." I gave her a quick lesson on how to calculate meal tax by state law. And, my check came to a lot less. She has also charged me for a soda I didn't order. Now onto the bowling alley: the place was not that busy, yet no one was at the desk to take our request for shoes, and when someone finally showed up, we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. What?! I saw 3 or 4 empty lanes!! Had it not been for a groupon I needed to use, and 3 kids who really wanted to bowl, and the fact that I did not have time to go to another alley, I would have loved to walk out. It was not busy, so it must have been a staffing problem. Never coming back!!

Thursday night bowling league

Good, honest people and down to earth fun! It can get pretty crazy on weekends with all the yuppies and snobs from Acton and Concord vying for position for their offspring. So come on a weeknight, watch the game in the bar/restaurant, or bowl some strings, or there's pool, air hockey, DDR, skeeball, pinball, and other video games. No shortage of stuff to do! The owners wife (one of the "young teen girls now with a baby in one arm" to quote another Yelper) is as hardworking as they get and has helped her husband bring this place out of the dumps it used to be and make it into the first place this Yelper thinks of when asked about bowling in the area. I enjoyed their Winter league and will be back for the Summer league(ask about it!), they're fair and run a tight ship for league play and there's tons of fun to be had. I'm horrible at bowling but the atmosphere and geniality of the owners and fellow patrons keep waiting for league night!

This place s****s! So much fun!

Had a blast with friends at a bowling league. First time playing candle stick, different but fun. Overall a nice group.

This place is not inviting. It's dark and most lanes are broken. The staff isn't friendly.

Along with Candlepin Bowling, they have great arcade and pinball machines to play and the prizes are great.

We had an awesome time here for my school-aged kids' birthday. While we love coming here in…read moregeneral, the birthday party was particularly fabulous and the focus of this review. It's well organized and there is a small area and a large area right by the entrance, flanking the ticket redemption area, the drink counter, and the employee desk. Great location for it. There's two flatscreen TVs in the large area and one flatscreen TV in the small one. Ability to turn off/on lights. We were able to fit high 20's number of kids in the small party area. Service and coordination was particularly great. Megan was our lead person, and she provided excellent concierge service. We were frankly surprised how great she was and attentive. We just assumed we'd be in for some chaos but nope, guided us, paced us, and was very attentive. You bring your own drinks and cake, and they have pizza baked in house. The pizza is really good. Wow. Move over boring kid birthday pizza. They take the cake back for you and cut it up and serve it. They clean up. They help with pizza distribution. They wheel in and out the carts with gifts (and coats this time of year) into and out of the party area. So if you want to stay around longer after the party area reservation, you're welcome to and they've got multiple carts to keep your things. The distribution of some of the credits on cards before and after was great. And the A or B on the cards of the kids to divide up the laser tag was great. And our kid got to do both times since it was their birthday. The area and place/setting is fun. Lots of different types of games. Everything was working -- a rarity for an arcade. There's better or worse use of credits, of course, as there is everywhere. I loved the variety though. There were electronic games, claw games, multiplayer games, violent and non-violent, physical sport/skill games (basketball shooting, ski ball, drop ball), and both ticket earning and non-ticket earning games. The redemption area has a large variety of choices and they're displayed well to enable kids to make choices without long queues. The laser tag area is surprisingly large and very fun for the kids. It's gotta be 2-3x larger than the rest of the arcade. The price here was great. Lots of folks will seek outer suburbs of Boston for good prices but all in this was a steal compared to some other options. And the other families loved it. Kids were raving about it through the school week, and multiple people said they're going to bring their families back here again soon and many for birthday parties.

Is it just me or is the pizza here actually pretty amazing? i have only been here for birthday…read moreparties but I am realizing that the pizza here that is made in house is different from other places and for birthday party pizza it is way better than delivering it into wherever the venue is. It's rectangular and super thick and i didn't think much of it until my son wolfed down two slices so fast i was not believing. so I had one. and i tried another weird pie called CBLT or something and it looked scary drizzled with ranch but crazy good! I think im just going to make excuses to come here again to try the pizza...the arcade games are definitely not really for little kids but pretty fun for older kids and grownups but it's nice that even if you have teensy kid points you can still get decent toy prizes and candy.
