But I've been waiting two weeks now to receive my after visit summary, clinical assessment, and next steps. I have never been to a provider that takes this long to provide an after visit summary, which are usually provided right after the visit. I emailed them, texted them, called several times, it's absolutely ridiculous. They assessed that my daughter did not have a tongue tie whereas a pediatric dentist we took her to assessed that she has a very thick and short frenum and would definitely benefit from a tongue release. I'm not sure how a multidisciplinary team missed that, but before I jump to conclusions or make any decisions, I wanted to look back at the clinical notes. Since they did not give me an opportunity to look at their assessment, I have no choice but to leave my HONEST review of the practice. This is the last thing a post partum parent needs, steer clear if you're in a similar situation.

My family's experience while my mother was a patient on the 3rd floor at Lorien Health Services…read morefrom March 25 through April 13 was very concerning. While I understand the demands placed on healthcare staff, we experienced a lack of consistency in care, limited attentiveness, and poor communication when asking reasonable questions. At times, interactions with staff felt dismissive, which added unnecessary stress during an already difficult situation. More importantly, we had concerns about whether care protocols were being consistently followed, particularly given the seriousness of my mother's medical condition. After my mother was transferred to the hospital on April 13, a significant medical issue was identified that, according to her physician, could have become much worse had it not been addressed when it was. This raised serious concerns about the level of monitoring and care she received prior to her transfer. In contrast, the hospital staff demonstrated a much higher level of attentiveness, professionalism, and compassion. I am sharing this feedback, as I also shared my concerns directly with facility staff, in the hope that improvements can be made in patient care, communication, responsiveness, and accountability. Families place tremendous trust in these facilities, and I hope this feedback leads to meaningful improvements in the care provided to future patients.

My father was admitted to Lorien Columbia for rehabilitation, and unfortunately, our experience was…read moreextremely disappointing. From the office staff to some of the aides, I witnessed behavior and conditions that were unacceptable for a healthcare facility entrusted with caring for vulnerable patients. I followed the advice given to me and visited on different days and at different times. During nearly every visit, I had to ask for my father's room to be cleaned. I repeatedly saw gloves, gauze, and other medical waste left on the floor. On one occasion, his urine bag had been left unclamped, causing urine to leak all over the floor. A staff member cleaned it using only a towel, without any disinfectant. I eventually began taking photographs because I felt my concerns were not being taken seriously. One day, while walking past another resident's room, an elderly woman asked me if I could please turn off her call light because she had been asking for assistance for a long time. The staff member sitting directly across from her room simply laughed. My father was also discouraged from using the bathroom. One staff member told him he was "pooping too much" and that it was affecting his bedsore, while another told him to simply use the brief and they would change him later. As a result, he developed a severe rash. When I asked how this happened, I was told that "sometimes patients are allergic to the briefs." If that was the case, I do not understand why they continued using them. In addition, my father was placed on what they called a "mechanical diet" for nearly the entire month he was there, without proper explanation to our family. He lost a tremendous amount of weight during his stay and weighed only 102 pounds when he finally came home. He was skin and bones. I even had to ask staff to allow him to brush his teeth because he wanted basic hygiene care. Healthcare is not just a job -- it requires compassion, patience, and respect for human dignity. These are people's loved ones, and they deserve proper care, cleanliness, and kindness. No family should have to witness the conditions and treatment that I observed during my father's stay.

After posting my original review, the facility publicly responded encouraging me to contact them to…read morediscuss my concerns further. I did exactly that and reached out as instructed, hoping to finally receive answers, accountability, or at the very least a meaningful conversation regarding my grandmother's care. Unfortunately, I received no response, no returned phone call, and no follow-up despite my efforts. This lack of response only reinforced the concerns our family experienced throughout my grandmother's stay: poor communication, lack of accountability, and disregard for the concerns of patients' families. It is deeply disappointing that even after publicly acknowledging my review and inviting further discussion, there was still no effort made to genuinely address what occurred or communicate with our family. Families dealing with the illness or loss of a loved one deserve compassion, responsiveness, and transparency. Sadly, our experience continued to fall short in all of those areas.

She rang the nurse bell and they told her stop. my mom was in pain at the time. se3cond issue was with the same attendant week later. my mother was in pain and needed to be attended to for using the bathroom. They did not change/clean her up until over a hour later. I reported this to a supervisor, and they said the person would be reprimanded and would not be back the next week. That person came in that next night and asked my mother did she need any help. My mother said she was in pain and had hard time breathing no one helped her. my mother had to call me from her phone and asked what to do. She called 911 and first responders took her to the hospital. The Nurses were good and vey profession and on their job. The attendant and supervisor are not. The place seems somewhat clean. Your love one's needs might be on the back burner with some attendants. Seems like they want you and your loved one's money but don't want to treat them like they would their own family. Since then, I have been looking into another rehab and senior place. She will not go back there and will never if i can help it.
