Joey is great. We connected over the pandemic and he was great about coming over for multiple meet and greets with my pup in the backyard. She can be anxious around new people but warmed up to Joey pretty fast; it was clear he was well versed in handling dogs and knew how to make her comfortable. Lira (the doggo) gets so excited when Joey and the group comes and I get constant videos of her having the best time sprinting around on the beach. Lira is EXTREMELY energetic and her time running around at the beach really tires her out quite a bit. When she gets home, she grabs water, says hello, and then sprints to her bed. It is really great for her and clearly does wonders getting so much freedom and exercise. Joey has worked with me constantly to help with different behaviors and continuously works on recall and gives updates. When Lira wasn't responding to some of Joey's treats, he even asked what kind I use so he could get them. The group also (mostly) stays away from anything too gross at the beach, which sounds like a silly thing to note but is actually really nice when you have a dog that loves diving on dead fish and birds (this hasn't always been the case with other walkers). Update on my review from several years ago! Ken started walking my dog Dinga about 5 years ago (maybe 6?). He and his business partner are super reliable, communicative, and always happy to take care of little nuances when things have changed in our living situation and pet situation (ie dog meds, schedule changes, house construction... you name it). Gianluca walks Dinga primarily nowadays and he is super sweet. He is always quiet and polite when he comes in to get her. Ken and Gianluca make a perfect team and I'm glad I've stuck with them throughout the years. I highly recommend these guys. I know my dog is safe when she's with them and I know they will always be there when I need them. Also they feed our kitty when we are out of town occasionally! Gianluca and Ken are as good as it gets when you're looking for dog care. They've been walking our dog, Arrow, for years now and they're professional, compassionate, courteous, and love love love their dogs. Ken and Gianluca have been a Godsend to me and Sparky! I have a crazy schedule working for a tech company on the peninsula. Active Pack is always willing to accommodate my schedule including schedule changes and keeping Sparky for extra hours when I know I'm going to have a late day getting home. When I work from home, they always come in a timely manner which makes me feel safe knowing that Sparky is going out at the agreed time. Sparky loves Ken and Gianluca so much that when they come, he greets them at the door with an excited wag and doesn't even look back as they take him out(am I allowed to say that it hurts my feeling a bit that I think my dog loves them more than me?). Sparky always comes home super happy and even more pooped. He falls asleep within minutes. The best part of their service is when I need to go out of town. They are always willing to watch him and they send me pics and video while I'm away.It receives my guilt a bit when I see those pics and see that he is not only being cared for, but loved! Apparently their own dog Maybe and and he are besties because most of the pics are of them cuddled up together or wrestling. They even go on adventures that I have yet to take him on myself. One time they took hime to the Russian River for a weekend while I was in Mexico, and another time they took him to the Yuba River. When I moved to SF two years ago I was worried that my best friend wouldn't get the attention and care that I was able to give him when we lived in Colorado, but after finding Ken and Gianluca, I know without a doubt that Active Pack has given Sparky an even better life than we had before. I have been using Active Pack for a number of years and LOVE him. Ken has a great relationship with my doggie Suki. She's a rescue and can be very barky and a little aggressive towards bigger dogs. My dachshund/beagle mix absolutely loves walking with Ken! He's always so excited to see Ken as he know's he'll be having a very loving and caring time, and a very fun outing for the day. I know the Buddy is in very good hands, and in fact, after Ken started walking him, he even lost some weight (that was very needed). Ken makes sure his dogs get exercise. I wouldn't have been able to get a puppy if it weren't for Ken. I work long hours in the south bay and I didn't want to get a puppy and then leave it home for 8-10 hours. I was able to work with Ken to have him keep Chad for both of his walks and it's been great. Chad was immediately socialized around people, big dogs and small dogs. He also got used to riding in the car which has been amazing. Also while most dog walkers go to different parks, Ken takes the dogs to beaches, forrests, and many other really interesting places. I've lived in the Bay Area my whole life and I don't think I've been to all the places Chad goes to with Ken. The long and short of it is that he's super passionate about what he does, is a professional and Chad absolutely adores him (more than me I think sometimes.. :/). Ken is absolutely amazing. I have two dogs which he has been walking and pet sitting for two years. My dogs adore him - they go bonkers when he walks in and wait by the door for him. Ken is awesome and does an excellent job taking care of my dog. He gives me full reports on behavior, sends me photos, and regularly posts photos and video on Facebook which I love seeing. My dog is 11-pounds but poses some challenges since he thinks he's 100 pounds, doesn't want people coming into the house, and likes to be in charge, but Ken got him assimilated into the walk routine and into the pack very quickly.
