She then proceeded to ask what an IED was as well and what happens to you when you are blown up. Absolutely ridiculous "care" and a completely shameful show of medical professionalism. She also had less equipment to test me than I had already previously been tested and she was not able to test for the hearing loss which I have already been diagnosed with. I was referred to Andersen by my P.CP. after I had voiced concerns about my hearing. I had to call…read morethe office numerous times and days to actually talk to a live person. The recording says that due to high call volume it may take 48 hours to get a callback. I waited 2 months for my appointment once I was able to talk to a live person. It's a tiny office off of 21st Street. It was not busy when I arrived. There was one receptionist working. I filled out my paperwork and was called back within five minutes. Mr. Andersen didn't ask me any background questions or try to understand what kind of trouble I was having. He didn't do a physical exam of my ears. He just told me to step into the booth which was not soundproof. I could hear the secretary in the other room. Even after he had closed the door. He placed some very old looking headphones on me. He stepped out of the booth and instructed me to signal to him through the glass window when I heard a sound. He tested different sounds and tones at various frequencies. He then assessed my word recognition and that was the end of the test~ 5 minutes total. He came into the booth and said my hearing was in normal range. I took a brief glance at the paperwork that he held up and then he walked away. He said he would forward the results to my P.C.P. I even googled "what to expect during an audiogram" and what I experienced definitely wasn't thorough, informative, or helpful.

My mom's appt was at 8:30 . It was 80 degrees outside I knocked on the door at 8:40. The lady looked at us and went in the back I knocked again. She comes and opens the door telling me in a condescending tone i did not have to break the door. I said my mom's appt is at 830 it is 845am now its hot and she is 86 and does not need to standing in the heat. She said we'll she had things to do before she opened the door. I said then you should not have made an appt for my mom until later. I expect my mom to be able to walk in and at least sit down at her appt time. She continued being rude . She never took care of the hearing aides .I could not stand the way she treated my mom any longer. I told her my mom would never come here again . Recall these are hearing technicians, not a doctor among the staff. I made and kept a hearing appointment for my IHSS recipients all the way back in March. We recieved the hearing aid in May and on our follow up appointment 2 weeks later these technicians realized the discomfort being created by a grossly oversized hearing aid. We were told that we would have the correct size hearing aid two weeks later. My recipients had me call 2 and a half weeks later to find out where the hearing aid was. I am obviously the worst person for wanting to have a tracking number because I am done hearing 2 more weeks from these professional technicians. These professionals have told this elderly woman, on her 79th birthday that they are now canceling her order lol. Because they will not work with her ihss provider. I beg all your pardons. You folks have to do a much better job. I just want you all to know that now we have to report this to medi-cal and make sure this place refunds all the monies charged by their complete lack of professionalism. These technicians, are not doctors and have a very high opinion of themselves and their repeated short comings are not to be addressed or highlighted. After 11 weeks this smells at least completely unprofessional if not fraudulent. Now that my recipients have had the pleasure of seeing and using their aids they have finally come to terms with the fact that amazon has hearing aids for 50 to 100 bucks for a set that work just as poorly as the hearing aids being offered here but never actually delivered. LOL.... can anyone explain how a plastic hearing aid can be stocked by the likes of walmart and amazon and a center called hear for life some how don't have a single unit on hand lol.... Wouldn't having the various hearing aids available during the appointments help these technicians to make the correct recommendations for their clients? I really don't understand this at all.

Matuk gave me a colonoscopy without ever a follow up. So Mary or Mark; hope I didn't get the gender wrong, the office manager, refused me because they said I saw another VA doctor. Why would the VA make an appointment with Matuk if I saw another doctor? That didn't make sense or wasn't a logical reason refuse to see me OR it's because of my service to this country. Dr. Matuk's office refused me because of my veterans service or because of my ethnic background as a Native American! I have 2 excellent insurances both Blue Cross/Blue Shield and the VA insurance but was refused service. As a proud member of the VA and the American Legion of California, I will be informing ALL veterans of this horrible group of medical "professionals" and Matuk's office! Horrible people!!!
