Great massage place. Really took care of me and my wife. We both left with smiles on our face…read more Massage therapist are comfortable with both men and women and know how to do everything just right.

I went for asian massage yesterday so I could checkout the place for myself and for a lady like 95…read morelbs she messed up my back big time. She said "U want soft, medium or hard?" I said MEDIUM!! I didn't expect her to climb on top of me and stick her elbow into my spine. I feel like someone beat me up. I don't have bruises on my back but I feel like she broke a rib or two, no joke. My back, ribs and shoulder blades are killing me. I'm glad I said medium & not hard. I don't understand how it's supposed to feel good and relaxing when I can hardly move without being in pain. I think I need a chiropractor. What a waste of $40.00. As for my 1st review where I said I think its a different type of massage (for men). I still think it is. It was so dark I could hardly see where I was going. I was the only customer (that I could see and hear) when I got there but shortly into my massage I could hear the front door open several times (there's a bell on the door) & a man's voice each time. One guy called and the lady stopped massaging me to answer phone. I could hear the man's voice but couldn't make out what he was saying as she spoke to him as she returned to massage my back. She said "OK when u wanna come? Now? OK I see you 10 minute. Whats your name? OK no problem we treat you like king." WOW nice.. Im sure the guys get special treatment with the cute little ladies in the skirts and heels. Im sure they know who to send to massage who. Towards the end of my massage I could hear a man's voice coming from the other room & the asian lady giggling. I wonder if they were telling jokes :P When I left there was a couple sitting in the waiting room. Eww I hope it wasn't one of those perv swinger couples! The dark windows unable to see inside from the outside, the very dark rooms, the sexy young asian girls, the "extras" you can receive for extra $$$ still makes me believe its a place that offers "happy endings" and even more if asked. I surely hope she washed her hands before she started rubbing my back!

My friends and family have been telling me to go here for years and years, but I was never…read moreinterested. I am not body shy, and being around naked women does not bother me. I just had no desire to go until a few days ago when I booked a massage and got a day pass. I thought it would be a nice treat for myself. It was a wonderful amazing experience! All staff I met were friendly. Given a tour of the place when I checked in. Robe, towels, and cap also given at check in. My massage therapist was Alex. She is so tiny but got some real strong hands. This girl does NOT need a man to open a pickle jar. I went to the FIR rooms. I tried all 4 rooms, which have different temperature ranges. I then realized, I don't like hot rooms so I went to the cold room. The pool area which also have about 4 different pools with different temperatures ranges. I went for the cold pool, the temp says it was 60-65 degrees but I felt like it was a little colder than that. Overall, I fell in love with this place. I did not get to try their restaurant, but I will once I go back. They have water you can buy or you can bring in your own. Also, NO PHONES. Don't wait too long like I did, and give this place a try!

I'll be honest, this is one of the only day spas I've been able to find in the Tacoma/Puyallup…read morearea. My friend and I did go in on a Saturday and as expected it was extremely busy. The cons: I do not think I received the quality customer service that should be expected when being a first timer. When I checked in, I paid, did not receive any towels, bathrobe, or hair cap, so I had to go back to the front desk to get this because I didn't realize everything was needed when you get into the locker room. I also wasn't given a short tour or any kind of knowledge about what's available in the spa. There was a lot more options than I was aware of until another patron was kind enough to give us a tour and (shout out) Suzie let me know about the different options available after my scrub. The body scrub is a little in your face if you get the body scrub done in the pool area. If I were to get another body scrub, I would specifically ask to do it in the second room because there's a less traffic. As a first timer, it was definitely not something I expected, and I did not mean to stare, but holy crap what an experience. The services are a little pricey. I love getting facials but $90 for a 30 minute facial seems a little too pricey for myself when I currently already go to different spa to get my facials and it's about $120 for an hour facial. Might just be a preference, but, I will probably give Olympic Spa at least a chance to get experience their products and see if there's anything I really enjoy. Pros: You can literally stay all day. There is a restaurant that you can have lunch at and there are a lot of great options for you to do for the time that you were staying at the spa. I did the body scrub and was actually able to move my 6 o'clock appointment to 315 due to a last-minute opening. Suzie was amazing and tried to make me feel a little better about all the dead skin that was coming off of my body. The water options at the front have some great selections, however, they are $20 each. I bought one for each of us and I will be bringing that back with fruit inclusions for the future. Or DIY it and add some cucumber, strawberries, pineapple to your water to give it a real good relaxing vibe. And finally, it is a little strange when you are not used to seeing naked people, like ever, and seeing a room full of naked members. After 10 minutes though, you're used to it and it's pretty normal. I think the whole setting is set up for you to be your most comfortable self. And if you aren't comfortable with being butt, naked nasty your first time there, the quiet room, rooms, and cold room give you an option to keep your robot and still experience some of the amenities. Since there are obviously no photos/phones allowed in any of the spa areas, the only pictures I will be able to provide will be the food. Which is super convenient because it's in the spa and you just go in in your robe. I will definitely be returning. And I'm looking forward to my future adventures. Due to the customer service, which is one of the main things I look for in this type of service, I'll be giving it a three star review. However, when I go back, I will be reevaluating this review based on the customer service I experience at that time.

I bought my sister a gift certificate of $180.00 for her birthday to enjoy a massage at Rapture…read more When she was filling out the form they asked her to provider her pronoun. This was not an optional question however it should be since its personal. She declined to answer the question online and by doing so could not complete the form. She went to Rapture in person on her appointment date to fill out any forms needed for the massage. She's been to spas before so she knows the routine is pretty straight forward when you're there. In this case however, it was not. While there she was told by a Rapture employee that she would have to answer the question and disclose her pronoun that she prefers. She explained to them that this is not necessary and that she doesn't feel comfortable disclosing this information to them or to anyone else for that matter. Rapture declined service due to this unnecessary, and what should be optional question to answer. They literally told her that they can't provide a massage service that has already been paid for through a gift certificate because she wouldn't disclose her pronoun preference. The employee also said this was required in case of an emergency. What emergency service would actually care or even ask what someones pronoun is? They don't. Furthermore, Rapture didn't even offer to refund the GC even though they weren't providing the service. The least they can do is provide a refund. That would be the descent thing to do. Not decline service and keep the money. Rapture, I have issued a charge back on to my credit card for services not provided.

Like many others, I have been overwhelmed by our current social context, work, and trying to assist my kids with schooling at home. Time for self-care, right? (Insert sadness). I started work earlier today, moved meetings, and left early, so that I could make this appointment. Needless to say, I was looking forward to some compassionate, skillful care. (Insert more sadness). I arrived five minutes early as instructed. Knocked and waited. Knocked and waited. An individual come to the door and explained that she was part of another business and asked me to wait while she checked with Carol downstairs. She came back shortly and explained that my appointment had been cancelled? Pardon me? "Yeah, your email didn't work, so your appointment was cancelled." "My email?," I asked incredulously. "Yes," she confirmed. Stunned, I went back to my car to check my email. After all, I may have missed the cancellation email. After searching my email, there was no cancellation email. Instead, there were THREE emails, including one from yesterday, affirming my appointment (photo below). This is advertised as a woman owned, minority business, and it's on the Hilltop! I was looking forward to supporting this business. Miscommunication happens, client error happens, we all miss the mark sometimes. I get it. Those things do not and should not define this business--but the mark was missed today. You could have helped to correct some of this by: (1) ensuring you cancel appointments, to be considerate of other's time. (2) It would have been a small, but kind gesture to come to the door, meet me yourself, and explain. The lack of the aforementioned has left me even more weary and feeling unvalued as a potential client. (Super sad). Yelp fam, have any suggestions for therapeutic massage in the Tacoma/Lakewood/Steilacoom/University Place/Fircrest area? Please send me a private message.
