During the…read moreCOVID pandemic, we visited often while I was working remotely because they had implemented appropriate measures early on. Today (June 2024), that's obviously is not an issue, but it meant a lot that they would work so hard to stay open during such a challenging time for community recreation centers. I have only spent time at the leisure pool, so I can't speak directly to the rest of the facilities. The leisure pool is excellent. Both the water and the pool deck are warm, which is a great feature for young ones. The family locker rooms are clean and there are 3 private shower rooms for young children. The leisure pool has a small slide for children under 4, water cannons, waterfall buckets, a lazy river, a water slide, and a hot tub. We have been able to visit both as guests of a local resident and as non-residents. Obviously the non-resident day pass is more expensive, but I would say it's reasonable, especially for a place where kids can easily spend 2-4 hours and get a nice warm shower.

First thing after they opened on a Monday, I came in to PAY for a shower and was greeted by a…read more"resting bitch face" front-desk person. After PAYING and given directions to the men's locker room, the following brief exchange occurred. M = me; RBF = "resting bitch face" front-desk person M: "Do you have family showers as well?" RBF: "Ugh... There are shower stalls with curtains in there [the men's locker room] for privacy. Family showers are only for our guests." (replied with an annoyance and attitude; the built-in "resting bitch face" didn't help) M: "So you do have them [family showers]?" RBF: "Yes..." (a reluctant response, again with attitude) OK, a few points on that, and I'm about to apply some "logic" so it may not be comprehendible to these numbskulls: 1. Apparently, the policy here is that a single person entering the facility is strictly forbidden from inquiring about any family-related offerings, because the individual is automatically assumed to not have a family who can be brought in the next time. Kind of judgy, no? I thought Colorado fervently supported a little something called "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion"--in which no one should be at first classified or treated based on how they looked. 2. It was probably just an unfortunate/unintentional slip that RBF affirmed the family showers for true "guests" (implying I wasn't one). However, the following rebuttal would be to teach RBF that she should really learn to STFU first and think carefully, then speaking. So, if it was acceptable for you to degrade people paying for showers not as guests, then correspondingly it would also be acceptable for me to personally consider you, RBF, as deserving to be harshly slapped every time you blurbed out something idiotic. With MY BELIEF in mind, everyone, you could come in and confront this moron on early Monday mornings. 3. I didn't pay $1, $2 (like at the Windsor Community Recreation Center) or even $4. I paid 6 damn dollars just to take a shower, so I'd be choosing whichever fucking shower I wanted, as long as I didn't start using any other features of the facility. Also, no families were there at that time (and, in fact, at many other centers around the country I'd visited, even when families were present I could just use the family rooms without the staff getting their panties in a bunch like RBF here). And what if somebody actually needed even more privacy? It could be that guest was inflicted with some kind of extreme "social anxiety disorder" (or something similar as how those lazy, victim-mindset bullshitters claimed nowadays). 4. Who kept hiring these entitled, disrespectful turds and never training them on proper customer service? Remember that I, A PAYING CUSTOMER, was THE REASON YOU HAD A JOB. In this case, it also meant I was a "guest," stupid. It wasn't like I randomly walked in off of the street and begged to use your showers for free. 5. And a final point: did these pompous Estes Valley Community Center retards think that theirs was the only, unique one in all of America? Because if that was the case, you could be standing right there, hurling insults and making fun of my penis while I showered, and I'd simply accept it. But you're not--I know because it's not like (as stated) I haven't taken showed at numerous community centers across the country or anything. Now, all that gracious smart knowledge and reasoning wouldn't have needed if the brief exchange had gone like this: FF = friendly face front desk person M: "Do you have family showers as well?" A few years ago, I would regularly go to classes and it was enjoyable. There were a couple experiences where it gave me a uncomfortable feeling about her. We did a hiking session together. Nobody showed up but me, so she and I went. I thought it was nice, but noticed that when she wanted to take a picture with me, it was just for her socials so her image would look good. Then not too long after that, there was a art event at the studio which I paid and went to. I figured it was just an art show but there was more to it. At the time, I struggled a lot more when it came to crowds. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, have fun, and to see what it was all about. I brought my sketch book to draw and I also joined in the audience to watch the aerial show (I think it was) even though I thought it was an art show. I got intense anxiety and overwhelm (probably from the energy from being in a crowd or certain people), so I left and cried in the car. I had texted Kate and told her what happened, but she didn't care. Kept my money too. Was only there for 15 or 20 minutes. So overall, these experiences showed me how greedy and fake she was. I start going back in November because I'm getting back into shape and I wanted to try the aerial classes again, but I can't afford very much, so I go with the 5 class plan for $59. My mom is the one that even helped me and I told her that. I completed the classes (except for one which I was not feeling that day, but I already showed up, so no sense in trying to get another class). I was not planning on going again (a couple of people including an instructor found that out by asking me questions) because I wanted to continue at a gym since my main focus ended up being working out/exercising. The gym is what is beneficial for me. I felt aerial yoga wasn't. Besides this reason, I didn't feel fully welcome and the instructors were not patient (my coordination is poor) except for one, but I forgot her name, I'm sorry. I came to find this past Tuesday night that my account was charged by the studio and my account was at 97 cents. I texted Kate personally. You can see the whole conversation plus more in the screenshot photos for yourselves. Which includes her trying to offer a partial refund through Venmo which is outside of her business. If she can offer that, then she could've just given me my refund. Acted fake by throwing in "we've enjoyed having you here" to again be careful as a business owner and her reputation. I emailed her because I kept checking my account on the studio website, since it kept saying my plan wasn't canceled yet and it had already been a whole day. So I told her to close my account and to refund me, or I'm going to report her and THEN she finally decided to cancel it. She also told me she would refund my original payment, but she only did a partial refund of $38 out of $59. She lied and is clearly greedy. Making it into a whole complex mess, when it couldve just been played out smoothly. She blocked me after I told her to not respond back to my text or she did after my email, I'm not sure, but I'll be spreading all this information around everywhere. I made a post about it on my Facebook and someone mentioned that they've heard of this situation happening a lot at this studio and what happened to one of their clients, so that didn't surprise me.

This individual's profile states that they are a current employee of this company. When I called to speak with presumably the owner, he denied that this individual works for him. Fair enough, if he doesn't work for you that's fine. However, when I then told him that this means someone is impersonating an employee of his company and spreading hate speech, he did not seem to care. I asked him simply yes or no, do you think this is wrong? Do you even care? The man refused to answer my question. This leads me to believe he is lying about the individuals employment. This owner is presumably allowing one of his SENIOR firearm instructors to tell people that killing indiscriminately is okay. And if that's not the case, he doesn't care about the potential damage this could do to his brand? I let him know that I would be letting local news stations know about our conversation and he kept calling me back trying to backtrack. The forward tees were about 5200 yds which is pretty normal. There is not a ton of variation in the holes. Most are fairly flat and straight. The holes are a lot of back and fourth so forgiving if you slice or hook one. The course was in decent shape. Greens were fair. Some elk tried to join our group but we let them play through instead. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We golfed with a twosome from OK who were extremely nice. On about the 16th hole, the gentleman behind us was golfing alone for the back nine so he just joined our foursome. He was helpful as he could direct us where to hit. Cost was reasonable. We took a cart but this would be a good course to walk and many were. We played in about 4 hours so not too much waiting. Glad we got to play here.
