I was willing to give it a whirl, especially since the alternative was popping pills like a human Pez dispenser. First, I chatted with Nichole, the Business Manager/receptionist, who was as nice as pie and well-versed in the labyrinthine world of insurance. Lindsey was my therapist, and she immediately put me at ease by outlining the game plan for the next few sessions. She presented treatment options with the finesse of a game show host--always giving me the chance to pass on the prizes if they made me uncomfortable. Keep in mind certain PT methods can be a tad painful, but keep going, it will get better!!! After weekly sessions and a mix of in-office wizardry, home exercises, and some diet tweaks (goodbye, junk food; hello, hydration!), my pain has dramatically improved. I'm still a work in progress, but I'm feeling like I'm getting pretty close to that elusive 100%. Lindsey is not just friendly and well-informed; she's the ultimate cheerleader. She even tossed in a book recommendation, "The Way Out" by Alan Gordon, which was the icing on my "cure cake." She's been a constant source of encouragement and support, making me feel like I'm part of a winning team on the road to recovery! So this place changed my life for the better. Lindsay did more in 6 weeks of me working with her than numerous specialists did in years, if not decades. She helped, if not completely corrected, bladder and GI issues. Which by the way wasn't even the reason I started PT but she worked backwards and found the root causes of some of my issues. If you're looking for someone who GENUINELY cares about improving your pelvic health and more, Ashley and her practice are the way to go. It's hard to find a provider (especially in this kind of field) who prioritizes educating their patients and truly wants to provide a high level of care in this day and age, however, I never once had to worry about those things with Ashley. I was referred by my Urologist to see a Pelvic Physical Therapist for treatment of frequent urination. I never knew that pelvic floor therapy existed but was willing to give it a try! I had been taking medication at the time and stopped when I started therapy. Nichole, the Business Manager, made it really easy to get started by contacting my insurance re: coverage and scheduling visits for the month. They have two locations and it was easy to schedule sessions. Alex was my Therapist and right away she made me feel comfortable by explaining what would be happening over the next few sessions. She presented treatment options and always gave me the opportunity to opt out if it didn't make me comfortable. I filled out a survey about my current urination activity and what I wanted to achieve. I had weekly sessions for about three months. Through a combination of in-office, home exercises and food/liquid changes, my frequency has dramatically improved! I'm still a work in progress but have the tools to make better decisions that impact my frequency. On the last day of graduation, I took the same survey and Alex compared the results with the first survey. I couldn't believe how much I'd improved! Absolute yes! I needed to treat pelvic pain and dysfunction (quasi diagnosis of endometriosis) - bladder, bowel, abdomen, period pain, etc. I had switched from another larger PT group (little progress over a couple of months) and I decided to try Action Therapeutics - and wow! You can really notice the emphasis on the overall level of care, service, attention, education, knowledge, and expertise. Lindsay is the best! She was always professional, kind, authentic, and caring. She really took the time to understand the issues I was having and thoroughly explained and educated me on certain topics/questions I had related to my body and treatment. For someone who is new to physical therapy, let alone dealing with areas that are a bit more sensitive, it was such a relief to find a professional I could trust and also really get results to improve my living and body. Sessions were comfortable, effective, and efficient and there was always open communication. I was also provided with a manageable home program that supported the healing and it was easy to learn how I could help myself even outside of the sessions. I didn't decide to move forward on any other types of unique treatments as I didn't think I needed them, but they have several options and new technology available that I'm sure can help many pending their case. Everyone here is so nice and the office is very clean. Lindsay is very knowledgeable with pelvic floor therapy and instantly makes you feel comfortable. I learned a lot about which muscles were tight and/or weak and she gave me a great program to help strengthen and stretch these muscles. She is knowledgeable with dry needling as well. If I weren't being treated here, is come in just to hang out! These folks are amazing!!!! I came in with an unusual ailment and unsure how physical therapy could help me. I was blown away by the breadth of knowledge Ashley has of the body as a whole! She was the first medical professional to actually figure out that several of my pain issues were potentially linked to one issue. I left our first session nearly in tears, feeling like I was heard for the first time after having seen many specializing doctors! Christy picked up where Ashley left off and I am greatly benefitting from her many years of expertise and her vibrant personality! It's a unique case and I feel so fortunate to have had two caring, brilliant professionals who are so committed to researching and finding a long term solution for me. Where do I even begin. I've never been a fan of the whole physical therapy process but I took a chance on Action Therapeutics and my experience changed my whole mindset about physical therapy. The entire staff is so kind they make you feel so comfortable. When I began the process the ladies I met were therapist and staff to me but by the end of my therapy I had gained some great friends. Christy was amazing she gave me a full exam to pin point exactly what the probably was and what was causing it (She's really knowledgeably about the body) then she patiently guided me through the process of fixing. She never pushed me to the point where I was in pain. Everyday I left I felt better then what I did coming in. She and the ladies motivated me to attend therapy on the days I wasn't really feeling it. Christy did a great job of keeping my session fun and exciting. Two weeks ago I sprained a muscle in my left shoulder. I was in so much that I couldn't go to work for a week. I appreciate Ashley at Action Therapeutics for doing dry needling to relieve me of the pain. Dry needling was the best procedure that I could have done.
