My guess is that he needed some additional access into the ceiling, but there's no way it needed to be a six inch hole. I was also charged $175 for traveling (the office is two blocks away and their storage is less than half a mile away). This charge was not communicated to me on the front end. I was also charged quite a bit for taking the track lighting down. This charge makes sense, but it should have been told to me on the front end.

Chris went above and beyond, helping me find a company that could quickly clean up the debris from the tree and showing me how to open my garage door manually. His colleague did a great job explaining the work that was done and letting me know what to expect next with the inspector. I will gladly call these guys again the next time I need an electrician.

This has just been a mess since the beginning. Best was contracted by the people we used to replace…read morethe siding. He showed up sporadically, and was awkward and unprofessional. The first time was okay, I let him inside (during COVID) even though he was doing outdoor work so he could see the space. He never wore a mask, didn't even have one, and no shoe covers either. The next time I asked him to wear a mask and I had to provide one to him. The next time (yes, this has been almost two months and the project still isn't complete) he showed up to the job with a dead drill? He needed to plug it into my house to charge, and then just sat in his van half an hour letting it juice up. We wanted two over-door lights and two outdoor outlets put in. He would leave siding open on the house showing the insulation and then leave for days at a time, even during rain storms. The last time he came over he slammed so hard that the plaster wall cracked INSIDE the house! We had two switches to be fixed inside, he did one then sat down and said he was too tired for the day and needed to go home. So he just.... left? Still hasn't been fixed. Now it's been three and a half weeks since he "finished" the project and guess what? The switches for the outdoor lights are swapped. One side of the duplex controls the other side's outdoor lights and vice versa. We've been calling this whole time to get him to return and fix the work, but no one has showed up.

We recently had KWK install an extra switch box in our basement…read moreso that we could add two dedicated outlets in my workshop for my table saw, miter saw, and other big tools. Ken, one of the owners came for the estimate and was enjoyable to work with. He explained things very well and made excellent suggestions. The estimate was very reasonable and clear. Patrick, the electrician, arrived at the agreed upon time and got right to work. He paid close attention to detail and worked quietly and efficiently. He was also enjoyable to work with and explained thing very well. Ultimately, Ken and Patrick were able to save us approximately $400 because their tests indicated that we did not need a power upgrade as we first thought. Partick finished on time and the work was excellent. As a little added bonus, Ken dropped by about half way through the process to inspect Patrick's work and dropped off some chocolates because he said it would help relieve some of the stress of having the work done. Overall our experience with KWK was very positive and I highly recommend this company. Thank you KWK!

They were great about getting it resolved especially as it took me a while to find an electrician that could come to the house and work with our schedule. Since part of the issue with contractors such as this is the service call piece, I decided to take advantage of the situation and have them replace the ceiling fan in our office as the fan part seemed to have died an early death. Scheduling with their website was relatively easy though I did have to have the obligatory call with them to essentially repeat what I said in my online message. A key thing for me was that I needed a separate invoice for the post light and the ceiling fan as the roofing company wouldn't be reimbursing me for that expense, obviously, but I also didn't want to pay two trip charges. Drake, the electrician that came out was quite friendly and personable. I have no complaints with the work that was done, though he did dispose of the user manuals for both the ceiling fan and the post light without asking me. I am sure I could get them online but it's always easier to have the book handy as model numbers change and I won't likely remember the name of the manufacturer of these items years later. Where I am a little leery of Over the Moon is that the cost of the two jobs--each took almost an identical amount of time, about two hours per--were wildly different in price. The post light installation was four times the cost of the ceiling fan. I'm not sure if that's because their service call rate is astronomical or if they felt that they could gauge my roofing company, but it seemed a bit off to me. Lastly, getting invoices for each item took a bit of doing as the first email I received was really just a couple lines of text on a plain PDF. Thankfully after I asked for something more did I get separate invoices for the two jobs.

The guy said he needed to take some measurements, and before I had a chance to respond, he went down the hallway and looked in all the bedrooms. He then asked if there was anyone else in the house. As a woman alone in a house, this is a very unsettling question. He then quoted me over $5000 for the 4 can lights in the kitchen plus 4 more in the living room. He said I also needed to replace old outlets in the bedroom. (Now I know why he wanted to look in the bedrooms.) He said I also needed to install a dimmer switch, a second switch for the lights, and a whole house surge protector. I said I only wanted the can lights and one dimmer. He then quoted me $4600 for the kitchen lights, 2 dimmer switches, and the surge protector. I again said I only wanted the kitchen lights. He then got a "manager" on the phone who stated that it would be "foolish to pass up such a good deal". He asked me which package I wanted to sign up for. I said I would need to think about it. A year later, I am still getting texts to set up appointments with them. I went with a different company that charged me $1100 for a master electrician to install 5 can lights and a dimmer switch. The other electrician said that I did not need those other things, and even if I did, $4600 was a ridiculously high quote. I would not recommend this company.

Because the numbers of our house were written incorrectly on the invoice, it did take the electrician a little longer to find us. The work was done correctly and well. I wore a mask, but the electrician did not. I did need to sign paperwork etc, so it might have been a good idea if they would wear masks while in a customers home.
