Sorry to say, I was quite disappointed in my return to this location. I had a screw in my sidewall of the back tire, and it could not be repaired so I was required to purchase a new tire. It was done quickly and efficiently, but as I was waiting to get the new tire installed, I was told my rear brake pads and rotors were 85 percent worn and they could replace them also. The cost would be an additional $400+, but I was offered a "deal" at $350 (red flag!) if I agreed to the additional work along with the new tire. Based on my last experience here when I purchased four new tires, I was also given a list of recommendations for other repairs. (See review below.) I took those recommendations to my trusted mechanic shop the following week and found out half of these items were not needed or could be replaced in the future at a more reasonable price. Accordingly, I set up an appointment with Riker Automotive down the street to get a second opinion on the brake pads and rotors. I was told the pads and rotors were at a "4" based on a red/yellow/green chart, which means the items should be replaced "soon" (within 3 months or so), but it was NOT critical now. Riker charged me $0 for the inspection! Not sure if this push by Action Gator Tire to get additional business is due to the Mavis company taking over Action Gate Tire. (They plan to change their outside sign to reflect Mavis' ownership I was told). Either way, this location lost my business completely and I will only take my vehicle to Riker Automotive and Tire in the future. read more

"This Action Gator location is a scam," I called weeks in advance about bridging my axle parts and was quoted $298 for labor and $79.99 for a spin test, with no warranty--which I accepted. When the parts arrived, I called and went in, but the staff was dismissive. One rude bald employee with horrible teeth told me my parts wouldn't fit (even though I confirmed they were correct) and said I had to buy theirs for $1,199.99 total. please save yourself and your car and do NOT go here. A year ago they replaced my power steering fluid, only for me to find out from another service shop two months later that it looked awful. One year later, I came back out of convenience and they tried to charge me to replace the power steering fluid again. When I pointed out they replaced it a year ago they said they would handle it. Then when I went to pick up my car, they had not bothered to do anything to it. They could not charge me so they did not do it. They have lost me as customer. I ordered tires off of Amazon and had them send to this location, I called a few days prior to my appointment to confirm and asked how much an alignment is for my car. They told me $99. They called me the day before my appointment and asked if I could come in that day instead and I said sure on my lunch break. I get there and am now told my alignment will be $149, I explained the prior phone call and they knocked it down to $129. Still annoying but cheaper than the dealership. They told me it will be an hour to an hour and a half which is very normal. An hour and 15 in to waiting the gentlemen from the counter ( who was very nice and respectful this review has nothing on him personally) let me know the alignment hasn't been started and that its going to take 30-45 minutes. 1 hour and 50 minutes into the appointment and I am approached again to let me know my alignment hasn't even started. So in all it took 2 hours for them to just stick two tires on my car- no alignment was done. If you care about your time management go anywhere else, it should never take 2 hours to put on two tires... I normally go to Discount Tire but wanted to try this place out since it's much closer to my home, I learned my lesson, I will not be returning. EDIT: I forgot to mention they didn't even air up the tires properly and I now have a dash alert for low tire pressure for the two they put on. read more

Came in the day before to see how much it would be to repaire my tire but was told it can't be fixed because of where the tire was damaged at, placed an order for a new one came in next day Daniel (store manager). Called me to let me know it was in, only $148 for the tire and installation. It was put on my car and all other tires checked to make sure I was all good. Scam scam alert. Went in for nail in tire. They say oh you need a new tire because we can't fix this. Why? Because it's in the outer wall. Lie. I saw the nail and it was in the middle of the tire. Can I please have my car back? And is the nail still In the tire? No we took it out. What? Why? So you try to force me to get a new tire. I made them pump air in tire. And I left. I took a drive to Charlie tire on 441. And they fixed my tire for $15. Gator tire was going to charge me for a new tire for $280 and they couldn't fix the flat. Big scam. read more

4 stars for a good tire replacement spot. Before driving up to Jacksonville a couple weeks ago, I decided that I needed some new tires. While I normally go to Walmart for tires since nobody can beat their prices, I had heard about Action Gator Tire and though I'd give the one down on South Orange a try. I stopped by right before 6 to see if they had my tire size in stock. The lady behind the counter (who seemed to be completely in charge of the place) looked up my tires and found the size for my car for about $85 a tire and $15 a tire for installation. While Walmart is a little bit cheaper (the lady admitted as much), this price was close enough to go with (especially since it would mean I could help a local business) and was clear that they would stand behind their products. The lady used her physical calculator to calculate my out-the-door price, sent my keys out to a tech so they could start putting on tires, and chatted with me while they were working (the waiting area isn't in great shape, so I didn't mind the chat). After about 20-30 minutes, my tires were on and ready to go. As I was getting ready to go, a man came in, looked around, and asked if a particular manager was available. The lady told him no and to have a nice day. After the guy left, she told me that people sometimes come and take the old tires and sell them at other stores. To prevent this, Action Gator stabs the old tires. While part of this was for competition, she also seemed genuinely concerned with people not getting ripped off and staying safe. Considering that most mechanics don't seem to actually care much about their customers after they leave, I did appreciate that this lady genuinely seemed to care about preventing people from getting ripped off. Overall, the Action Gator Tire down on South Orange provided good tires for a competitive price and seems to genuinely care about its customers. It may not be the best tire place in Orlando, but their prices and effort make them a good option to consider. read more

I went to the Action Gator Tire at 2040 State Road 436. I arrived at 0715 and there was a customer service representative available to assess my needs and make a recommendation. The store didn't carry the specific make tire in the size I requested but did have another that was a suitable replacement substitute at a very good price. My SUV was taken into the service bay at promptly at 0730. The technicians changed my tires, did the balance and checked the alignment and still managed to get me out in just over an hour. A few weeks ago my low tire light came on and I quickly drove my car in to action gator tire. It was 7am, they were just getting started with their day. I ask if they would please fill my tire and they did. They were very nice and helpful. 2 weeks later my light came back on so I went back and had them finally patch it up. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! The first time I went there to change the oil, I had to go back because they didn't reset it and the "change oil button" came on. When I went in there the guy kept saying that it was time for an oil change and I had only ran 90 miles after the oil change, I had to show them my receipt to prove that I had recently changed the oil with them. Now the sscond time came for my next oil change service, I received a coupon in the mail to use on this service, when I went in and it was done, I hand the coupon over and the guy says he cannot apply that coupon to my service, when it clearly stated 19.95 for oil change service, plus the horrible attitude these people treat customers with. I visited multiple tire stores along OBT looking for the best service as much as a good deal. Called 2 places close by where we were in Orlando & all said 5+ hour wait. Got in touch with a lady at this location & she was amazing. She got us right in & out in under 30 minutes. Have bought my tires from there for many years and had always been pleased with the service. (See, e.g., my review from 2/17/2015.) Today I brought in my car to have tires replaced for which I signed a written estimate (which, it was later determined, erroneously included charges for both regular valve stems and TPMS valve stems). Diane called me after I'd dropped it off and said the left front control arm was broken and would need replacement in order for car to be aligned. She expressly told me over the phone that the part would be $80 and labor $70, which I orally authorized. I then followed up with an email regarding those charges When I showed up to pick up the car, the invoice was suddenly $220 more than the original estimate, not the $150 more she'd quoted and I'd authorized. Diane vigorously and rudely disputed that she'd told me that the part would be $80 and labor $70, saying that she'd told me $87.95 for the part and $99.00 for the labor, that she would never use such round numbers as I'd heard, that she didn't mis-speak, but that I mis-heard. Well, $80/$70 is what she told me--they're easy numbers to remember--not $87.95/$99. They'd also tacked on additional fees that raised the pricing dispute up to $70 over what I'd authorized. I had to pay the invoice to get my car back, but will not be going back--EVER. read more

I called and talked to them before coming in, they ordered 4 new tires from their warehouse that morning called me at 12 noon to tell me they were in. I've bought tires at this shop for years, and have been satisfied. However, this time when I bought new tires, they weren't balanced and I was told I didn't need a front end alignment. I took it back because I had a vibration in the tires and the alignment was off. I paid for an alignment, which worked, but the tires still weren't balanced. The manager, Daniel, said the bushings and ball joints were bad and the front end was slinging grease everywhere, and that was the cause of the vibration. He tried a road force balance and that didn't work (after his worked said they took my Land Cruiser for a drive and it was smooth. I took my LC to a local mechanic and they said the bushings, ball joints, control arms were fine and the tires were out of round. I told Action Gator that and Daniel said he had no faith in the local shop. I asked him to warranty the tires and get new ones for me. He said that there was nothing to warranty because he used a run out gage and the tires are ok. He tried adding glass beads to the tires and after my 4th trip to pick it up, was assured there was no vibration. there was and also a shimmy. He once again said the ball joints, etc, were the cause and needed replacing. I asked what that would cost and he said $1700-1800 which I thought sounded right. So I asked if I replaced the ball joints, etc and there was still a problem, would he replace the tires. He said yes. I almost had the work done, but decided to go to a Toyota dealership and have them check the front end. After a $35 Uber ride home, they texted me and said the ball joints and control arms and bushings were fine and the tires are defective because it would take a massive amount of weight to balance them. They charged $55 and the balance was a little better. They also gave me Cooper tires customer service line and said that Cooper has a 45 day ride and try guaranteee, which I confirmed with Cooper they do. Action Gator never told me that. I got new Cooper tires through Toyota and the helpful Cooper tire people. My LC ride is smooth! I would've wasted money with Action Gator and they would've replaced the tires under warranty and I would've been out $1700 at least. NEVER USE ACTION GATOR ON S. ORANGE AVE, ORLANDO. They knew there was a warranty but they just wanted to sell me something I didn't need ...or else they don't know anything about control arms, bushings, ball joints. 1 STAR RATING FROM ME. read more

I went to Gator Tires on 4698 S Orange Ave in Orlando to do a regular oil change. After a supposedly checkup they said the brakes need to be changed, the shocks need to be changed, my car needs alignment. The total was around 1200$. I did not want to do it that day because I had to work in 4 hours, they insisted they could do the work in 4 hours and insisted on doing it that day because the brakes could get worse and it would tear smth in my car. Two men insisted and kept telling me how badly it needs changed right away, lots of pressure. I am a female, with an accent too, not much knowledge in cars. So, I agreed I had a bad feeling even after I left. Right after that day my wheel was shaking when hitting the brakes. I called and they said it's normal and could come back, which I didn't. I went months later to a different shop to check it all. To my not so big surprise but still in a shock, they told me my shocks weren't new at all, my brake pads either and needed changed. They showed me all under the car. They said whoever worked on my car either did not change anything, either used old parts. So I don't know what I paid over 1000$ for. Either way, it was a lie and a fraud. I was advised by the other people to sue them or report it to a news channel. Didn't do it yet but at least I will post this first. read more
