The highest level of service that can only be found in Texas by people that care! They took care of my elderly mother's hardware problem efficiently and economically. If you have an elderly parent or anyone who is not knowledgeable about computers living in Granbuy, call this business! They are friendly, professional, and you will be thrilled with the experience! That being said, here's the story: My elderly mother had a problem with her computer that I suspected (I live in Virginia) was a problem with the fan/heatsink on her CPU. Not being aware of a Granbury-based computer repair shop, I agreed with her when she said she needed to take it Best Buy in Weatherford, which is hard for her to do since it's 25 miles away. She had to wait for a few days until her weekly housekeeper could load the computer into her car for her. I had called the Geek Squad at Best Buy, and, while unimpressed with the person I spoke to, described to them what to look for, and they assured me they could fix it. My mother took it to Best Buy, only to have the computer languish there for five days. When she called to see if it was ready, they told her yes. She drove back to Weatherford, again, at great effort for her, only to find that it was not fixed, and they would have to send it to Kentucky. She called to ask me what to do, and I told her she could send it to me, and I would fix it. Then she remembered seeing Action Computers in Granbury, so I told her to take it there and have them call me. When she took it there, they took it out of her car for her, listened to what she described, and told her it probably would be a quick fix, but they had to evaluate the computer first. When I spoke to them, they again agreed it would probably be a simple fix. They were able to get it on the bench later that day. They diagnosed that the compound between the heatsink and the CPU had deteriorated and a bracket had broken, and they were able to fix it right then with a $10 part they had in the shop. I asked if they could deliver it to my mother's house and hook it back up because I didn't want her to have to go through the same trial of waiting for someone to put it back into her house and then her having to figure out, with me helping over the phone, how to hook it back up. I thought the $35 home service fee was more than reasonable. They made an appointment the next day, and now she's back in business with a perfectly working computer. Important to note that she needed the computer repaired instead of buying a new one because she didn't want to have to learn a new operating system and didn't want the expense of transferring her old files to a new system. She has a Windows 7 system that works extremely well. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Action Computers! I am extremely disappointed with the service I received. After picking up my computer, it immediately began crashing and freezing. The Windows event logs contained over 4,000 critical errors generated AFTER the repair, including Side‑by‑Side failures, DCOM 1089 errors, TPM service failures, and repeated update failures. These issues indicate a severely corrupted or improperly installed operating system. A repair install even crashed midway, which should never happen on a properly serviced machine. I expected a functioning system after paying for a repair, not a machine in worse condition than before. I would strongly caution others to verify the quality of work before trusting this shop with their devices. read more

Windows 11 had become corrupted but wanted to save my personal files. Was told they would "look" at the laptop and they had very good techs. Several days later was told they could not save any files but could re-load windows. I picked up the laptop and had to pay the $120 fee for nothing. Went it to a differnt place, where the laptop had windows re-loaded and all but one of my picture files had been saved. Lession learned, stay away from Action Computer and find a place with only ceritifed Microsoft Techs. read more

Let me start by saying customer service from the lady at the front was great, she was kind and probably felt guilty about my experience and if she reads this she should know this is not directed at her at all. Now, to start this business tried to charge me 200 for a factory reset, absolutely insane by itself. They run a business model that takes advantage of older individuals with little to no IT skills. Luckily most people today grow up understand the basics of computers so they wont be able to do this for long. YouTube your problem first, I was able to fix my issue within 2 videos after learning how simple of a fix it was and save hundreds of dollars. If you do have to go to a shop pick any other one. Unfortunately they still got 190 bucks from me in exchange for a 30 min call back saying "idk what's wrong" on a system 32 error which only needed a /restore /scan. read more

Another business erased all of my business files and word documents. There was nothing on my desktop when I received this computer back. It was a horror. Action Computer, again, saved me. Chris cloned my business computer. He is not only an exceptional professional, but he is patient and kind. He stayed to make certain that I had everything on this computer that I needed. If I could I wouldn't have even given this place one star. I would like those that read this to understand that I am not angry about the amount that they changed me (I believe that good service is worth the price) I am furious about the subpar work that was done. I had asked them to transfer my hardware into a new case as well as instal a new SSD and install windows 10 on that SSD. After a week of waiting I had to call about the progress because they did now call or text to say that the work was done. When I arrived to pick up my computer the employee were confused as to what box had my old case in it. For context I purchased the same exact case as my old one. I had tried to explain to the employee that the case in the box next to my PC was not mine as it was much smaller then the case I had purchased. After hearing the ridiculous amount of money they were charging me, $515 to be exact. Mind you, they never told me the price of their services before I agreed to them working on my PC. I ended up just sucking it up and paid for it in full. When I arrived home, I decided that I would open my case to inspect the work that had been done (see pictures below) I was frustrated to see that the work that was done was NOT up the the standards that I had received from my previous time there. I thought that I would still be worth it if they had done a good job with the software. They ended up doing a subpar job in that department. When I went back to receive a refund (or at least an explanation) I was met with poor excuses and worse attitudes. I explained that I was unsatisfied and what was wrong. The "office manager" proceeded to explain that this was a business and that they cannot simply give refunds and offered to have their technician try again when he came back in a few days. At this point I was not going to trust these people with my PC for another second let alone however long it would take them to get around to doing the job correctly. At the end of the day I left without a refund, but I did leave with something arguably more valuable. When discussing what they had done incorrectly I had stated that even someone that doesn't know much about computers like me could have done a better job, I was then met with the classic line "when why didn't you?" When I had these guys work on my PC a few summers ago I was incredibly satisfied with the work that they had done, but that was a few summers (and a few deferent employees ago) now I am sad to say that I will not be coming back to this shop again. And I would not recommend anyone else to do so either. At the end of the day I really would have been better off doing the work myself, now that I'm 515 dollars out of pocket and have to do it myself anyway. read more

THIS ENTIRE TEAM OF COMPUTER TECHIES AND GENIUS TALENT are everything you need and want when your computer has a virus or seems tired and lifeless. My laptop, had.....in my opinion DIED...............could open it, but there were all sorts of pop ups and weird things happening. I couldn't get into my e-mail at all...............my mouse had suddenly gone crazy, and it would turn on and off on its own. The craziest behavior I had seen since purchasing it 8 years ago. I went here because my laptop screen was messing up and case was broken. The man who helped us (it's been about a month, so I'm sorry to say I don't remember his name now) obviously knew what he was talking about. He took his time looking at it while I was there to determine if it could be fixed. By the time I arrived at his shop, my laptop wouldn't turn on, which was a big surprise to me. Very disappointing. He recommended getting a new computer rather than paying to have my laptop fixed. Then he took the time to give me advice about some good computers in my price range. I highly recommend this company.
