I would give them no stars if possible. absolute scam artists. they showed up to an accident that only police were requested. I refused all care and transport. 8 months later I received a bill for 1500. when I called I was told because a paramedic showed up. I explained I never asked for EMS just police. how can they charge for just showing up and not providing care. read more

The mechanics ensure the vehicles are in tiptop shape, the EMTs are trained well and are very professional, management is outstanding, the medical transport specialists are trained properly and thoroughly, and are some of the best I've ever seen. The bus drivers who drive students to school are 7D certified license holders, and are some of the kindest and caring people you'll ever meet. When I had a car accident a while ago, these good people brought me to the hospital. They were calm and professional. You got the impression that you were in good hands, because they did all this hundreds of times before. They kept the atmosphere very light by joking with eachother, and me.... I almost forgot about the gash in my head, and barely noticed when they installed the IV. If my health takes a turn for the worse again, I hope these same people show up! read more

I am writing to complain about the service my father has received with Action Ambulance. On Tuesday March 27th 2018 he was due to be collected from a nursing home and transported to a dentist for a scheduled appointment. Their vehicle did not show up. This is not acceptable as the dental work was required and will now take place on April 19th which is a delay in treatment of 3 to 4 weeks. A second and much more concerning failure to receive correct services from Action Ambulance occurred on April 4th 2018. My father was scheduled to receive his routine dialysis treatment at FMC followed by an urgent surgery at Melrose Wakefield Hospital on the same afternoon as he was in significant pain from an indwelling fistula. The plan went well until the point he left FMC Stoneham. He was collected early as agreed at 2.30 pm however he was returned to Life Care Center of Stoneham nursing home therefore he did not receive the surgery at the hospital and is still in severe pain. This situation is completely unacceptable. I have spent a significant amount of time and effort calling all of the parties involved and it is still unclear to me why this situation occurred. I want a clear and concise answer including which party was responsible for my father being returned to the nursing home instead of being taken to the hospital as intended. During my inquiries, I have established that my father was collected at an earlier time than usual from dialysis treatment however Action Ambulance dispute the actual time claiming he was collected at 3.00 pm whereas FMC Stoneham confirmed a pick up at 2.30 pm as intended. On calling Action Ambulance today (5th April), I was informed (by George) that there was never a call to arrange an early pick up to take my father to the hospital and that he (George) went back through the recorded calls to verify this point. However, this is a complete disconnect as my father was clearly collected earlier than usual irrespective of the actual time. The second part of my complaint relating to events on 4th April is with the driver of the chair car vehicle. My father clearly informed the driver that he was to go to Melrose Wakefield Hospital however the driver ignored him and chose to return my father to the nursing home. Again, this is unacceptable. If the instruction from my father was in contrast to the information that the driver had then the driver has a responsibility to check on the details. It would have taken minimal time to verify the details and I was informed that all drivers are able to communicate with the Action Ambulance controllers. The driver should have done this before driving away from FMC Stoneham. This driver has now contributed to my father suffering severe pain for more time than necessary by not taking him to the hospital as planned. Also, on TWO previous occasions, while in the care of Action Ambulance, he had fallen in his wheelchair due to poor restraints. The restraints let go and he fell and hit his head pretty hard. This is the last and final straw. We will no longer be using Action Ambulance. read more

We used Action ambulance to move my Dad today from one facility to another. It is a difficult thing, moving a parent. It's emotional and it is heart wrenching to move a parent or loved one from facility to facility. John from Action Ambulance was understanding and kind and effective. I was taken in an ambulance by this company about two or three months ago. I was torn between giving this company a 5 or a 1. One emt, a female named j-something, was attentive and comforting. EMT classes at Wilmington Action Ambulance, Don't. There are so many other places that put forth more effort and value that attending classes here is a waste of your time and money, which is all these people are interested in. If you want to take a class that cheats on your hours of instruction and doesn't cover every topic that is required and or expected, this is the place for you. 4 hours of reading: (VERBATIUM) the Power Point presentations, minimal practical practice, and almost no real ambulance orientation and or practice ensure you will not be at the minimal level expected of EMT's in the real world. The required CPR standards were not met and additionally the woman instructor was not qualified to teach at the time. This resulted in complaints to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts OEMS Office. Never mind the hubris of the instructor involved who was constantly running out of the room to check her constant texts. The other instructors were always tired and inconsistent. The class I attended lost about 10 students in the first 3 weeks. If this is the quality of teaching here, it really questions the quality of care these people are providing to the residents of the communities they serve! So many topics: like how to use and turn on the suction in an ambulance, or the use of the stair chair, as examples were not taught, practiced, or even discussed in these classes. The experience level of the instructor was constantly demonstrated at test times when the written exam answers were not known by the instructor, the textbook used in the course was outdated, it was not the latest version available nor in the constantly changing medical community were the latest changes incorporated. In fact the latest NTSHA / DOT trauma Guidelines, which are critical for many situations,...well, the instructor didn't even know the guidelines had changed,...: three years ago! And then with other critical pieces of equipment, the woman instructor taught the wrong procedure, this to me would indicate an extreme liability to the parent company? But the real question was : Why didn't the instructor/ Paramedic know the correct procedure? Be aware that they have incorporated as "STAT EMS," most likely because the Doctors that own this company are somewhat aware of the incompetence that exists and they are distancing themselves from these individuals, but again this indicates a scam of epic proportions to use the name of Action Ambulance and then bait and switch to another legal entity??? Find another place to learn, because that's not what they do here! read more

Fantastic paramedics and EMTs! No complaints whatsoever. Thank you, Action!

A few days ago I was legally parked in HP spot at 200 Unicorn Park Dr, Woburn. There is a row of HP spots available in front since this building houses Orthopedics and Rehab services. When I left my medical appointment I was very dismayed to see an unattended Action Ambulance BLOCKING my car in! I waited a good 15 minutes for them to stroll out of the building thus making me late for another medical appointment at another facility. It would be one thing if it was a medical emergency for them to block people in. It was not, it was a transport. I got a dirty look from the two ambulance employees when I said blocking people in like this is unnecessary. I was told by a fellow person in car next to mine that it happens all of the time. I feel that the judgement used by the ambulance operators to park there was poor and inconsiderate. Would they dare to block a non HP spot user in for transports? I think not. I may notify the local handicap commission on how to proceed. read more
