L O C A T I O N Although no glaring huge signs saying conference center, I wish there was cause I was confused as to the signage on the posts as it would point me in two different directions. Apparently the conference center is the large orange building that also houses the fitness center and a coffee spot called The Pub. There are a few rooms that they use as conference areas on the second floor of the building. I was able to get to it on a nice less than a mile walk from the CalTrain 4th street station. P A R K I N G There are a fair amount of parking lots that you can use but for any stay longer than 7 hours it costs $30. There's a lot of useful parking information on their website. There are a few lots that aren't open until 8 so if you have an 8am conference...you may want to stick to public transportation. S E R V I C E The catering was fine. Your typical coffee, danish, tea, bagel, fruit spread for breakfast. Then for lunch it was sandwiches and a veggie wrap with chips and fruit oh and a chocolate chip cookie. I do appreciate the to go boxes as I don't typically eat a lot and it was nice to have a little box to put all my extra food in. We had a little break for a snack at around 3 which consisted of brownies and cookies. O V E R A L L As I'm not a huge conference buff, for what I was here for it was good. They have a lot of seats, though wish they had tables to put my laptop on but that's ok. Lighting could be a little better in terms of screen readability but I sat close up which helped.

Expensive because the tall glasses are little on the small side - but that is relatively minor since we needed to meet the minimum bar. :D I would highly recommend this space for a venue. Eshleman is comprised of 5 floors & a basement. 1) The first floor has generic seating with tables and chairs similar to MLK for studying. There is also a TeaOne that serves boba and egg puffs. The front desk is also located on the first floor. 2) The second floor has performing arts spaces and some offices. The bridge to MLK is also located on the 2nd floor with entrance to the stairs located on the Eshleman side of the bridge. 3) The 3rd floor is mainly for student orgs that have designated cubicle space to study or hang around. Key card access is needed to get into 312 Esh. 4) The fourth floor is where the main elected officials have their offices and the lead center along with the GA is located. 5) The 5th floor is where senate chambers and the senate lounge is located.

Advice to all visitors: It may be worth calling ahead to confirm there is no yard or gardening maintenance scheduled during the 1- hour tour (only 2 tours per day). The leaf blower running during our visit was loud enough that made it difficult to hear the soft-spoken docent throughout the tour. Removing 1 star only for this reason.

I asked them to serve water or drinks, but then they served the appetizers instead. Guests got thirsty, while they were serving the food. They cut my cake into blocks of 4x5 inches.. which is way too big for one person. I caught them or one of them just sitting around instead of finding something to do which there was a lot such as gathering the dirty dishes, doing the garbage, etc. Lastly, our arrangement is at $14 an hour. At the last minute, they told me it was $15. Also, we arranged them to be there at 5pm-11pm. They were there at 4:30pm which I don't mind, but then they were trying to leave at 10:30pm (to cut the 6 hour shift) when I needed them until 11pm, so I guess I needed to ask them a favor to stay an extra 30 minutes when our arrangement is a little bit different.

Vintage clothing, jewelry and even a few pastry & bread & alcohol makers! I loved the Sonoma Bakery's pear marscapone pastry! The marscapone complemented the pear. The pastry had buckwheat flour giving a slight sour tinge. Not sweet and just right for breakfast or snack. Also, some Bay Area artisans in the show who rarely attend these events! Fun. Free! Supporting artisans making wares and doing the crafts we may treasure.. This October there was the SF Fall Show, home decor and interior design. 4 days of design bliss with vendors from around the globe. Go to Fort Mason and check out the shows at the Festival Pavillon.

I know almost everybody who works at the dining room, and they're always really cheerful and friendly. It makes for a pleasant lunch. They have reduced the service a bit over the years, not offering Friday meals, and cutting out breakfast. The meal selections are also fewer. I just wish they still had breakfast. Oh well.

The outside seating was great especially on a nice day like we had. The staff was on their game and more than helpful. The parking situation was surprisingly bad. When I got there 2 hours before the event started there was no parking. It made me wonder how our guests were going to enjoy the parking? They provide their own food and don't allow outside catering. At first I was like booo, because I wanted Mexican food but the food was pretty good. It was a spread of finger food. Little flaky pouches with creamed broccoli in them, small ham & turkey sandwiches, Jalapeno Poppers, and egg rolls. Everything was light and fresh and not greasy at all. They cook everything in house with staff chefs. Very delightful. At the end there was a spread of dessert options, cookies, brownies, Raspberry bars, Pecan bars and M&M's. I only had the brownie and it was almost the devil making me want to go back and have another. They served Starbucks coffee too. Made my very own iced Decaf. I was pleased. We enjoyed it and the price was actually very good for what we were offered. We will probably have some more events here. Considering the ease of getting off the freeway to get there our customers probably liked it too.
