I'm 57 and never had to replace a screen. I dropped my phone, screen broke...had to do it. Such is life. They fixed it, more expensive than the franchise place but it was my choice...all good. 11 days later my screen is cracked...I didn't drop it, didn't put the phone in any condition or environment that was in any way out of the ordinary....genuinely...on my kids...no lie. Just as it was before being fixed, my phone resides on an Otter box. I am at a friend's house...I set my phone down...pick it up an hour or so later and it's cracked. Does something rub up against it? Probably...maybe. Can't be sure. But there was zero stress put on the back or front of the phone. It was in my pocket, in the car and in this person's house. When I came back and explained my situation, the best they could do was instead of paying the $188 I paid originally, I paid $150. On the one hand, I get it. The warranty not covering physical damage makes sense. People are nuts, people are irresponsible, etc. But I got zero vibe, feeling, sense that my take mattered. I didn't ask for it but was thinking...if I'm the business owner, maybe I throw in a scree protector at not charge. A minimal...coupla bucks investment in a customer that says on some small way...we get it...you just paid $188 for a replacement and 10 days later...inexplicably you're paying another $150....so...as a basic gesture of goodwill...here's the bare fu***ing minimum we can do to display some level of service...and nope. Just a transaction. Gimme a GD reason to pay more to shop local next time. Your shortsightedness cost you not just a customer but probably 8-10 customers if basic marketing principles hold. Shop local - please...for everything you can. Your dollar, when spent locally serves the business and your community 10x vs what comes from shopping at a chain. However...if you need a mobile phone repaired...there is no benefit to shopping local. Why? Because they know they have you. They know you are captive to your phone. Really. They're right. We are. No argument. Go to the behemoth. Go to the chain if you need your phone fixed. These guys are no better. They know you will do whatever to get your phone back. They clearly use inferior quality product. And I feel for them on some level...they are competing against massive volume that prices them out for many folks. Well, this is the rare occasion where the local place lost me. I won't say "don't shop here", etc...cause maybe my experience is just a one-off. And...also...F them. They had a shot at being decent and failed.

Checked in to ensure an appointment date was good. Let us know ahead they were coming. They reviewed the entire exterior of the house and could have sold me a ton of work. They could have tried to talk me into anything. Instead they said "You don't need us now. Your gutters are in good shape and you can get a handyman to repair the lower parts of the downspouts". Amazing. I TRIED to give them work and they weren't having it. They even gave me the name of a handyman service to rely on. I'll need a new roof in a couple of years and these are the guys who will assess, supply, install, and maintain our gutters. Really reliable, professional, honest, communicative and a pleasure to work with. If you need gutters, you can trust these guys to treat you well.

We had a great experience with David from the first phone call to his arrival. He was extremely kind, efficient, and professional. He went above and beyond to help my father get back into his house when the doorknob stopped working, and he handled everything quickly and smoothly. I had a very mixed experience with Precision Garage Door Service of Jacksonville…read more On the service side, this was absolutely 5-star. My garage door would not close because one of the cables had come off the pulley, and they responded very quickly late on a Friday evening when I really needed help. The technician was extremely friendly, professional, communicative, and took the time to explain everything clearly. At no point did I feel pressured into making a decision, and I want to be very fair about that. He showed me that the grooves in my pulleys were almost gone, which made sense since they are more than 20 years old, and he also pointed out that the cables were starting to wear. He recommended replacing both pulleys and cables rather than simply putting the cable back on, especially since the same issue could easily happen again soon. He also noted that my rollers were wearing out, and when I asked about replacing those too, he even contacted his manager and got that price reduced. So to be clear, I was not forced into any of these repairs. I agreed to them because, given the age of the parts and the fact that my garage door would not close, it seemed like the most practical decision at the time. My frustration is with the total cost. I understand that emergency evening service comes at a premium, and I also understand that I made the final decision to approve the work. But after everything was done, I looked up the cost of the parts themselves -- the rollers, cables, and pulleys -- and found that they can be purchased for under $100 total. That was incredibly disappointing to discover after paying more than $1,200 for the work. I do not work on garage doors myself because I am very cautious about the springs and the tension involved, which is why I chose to call a professional. Since it was late on a Friday and my garage door would not close, I decided to move forward with the repairs rather than spend time researching costs. Afterward, when I looked up the price of the parts and saw how low they were, I was extremely disappointed and came away feeling like I had been charged far more than was reasonable, especially since technician completed the work was done in about 90 minutes. Our garage door works but it wasn't up to code, outdated, appeared to be DIY'd, and downright…read morenoisy. You know those money pages you get in the mail sometimes? That's how we found Precision. They always called 20-30 mins before their arrival window and sent a text with the photo of the person coming. A tech came out and examined our door and gave us some options that were reasonably priced. He was very professional and polite. On the day we scheduled the guy parked outside of the garage, introduced him then walked around the garage checking out what he'd need to do to install our new door and opener. He thanked us for clearing out the space so he could work and told us that it would take about 3.5 to 4 hours to complete everything. He stated he does two of these a day and ours was the second. Ok. Then he got to work. We offered water and a fan since it was a very hot day but he said he was prepared and thanked us. He was done in exactly the amount of time he said he would. I was amazed. A week out and the door and opener is so much quieter. Thanks Precision!
