After ten years of service, I canceled. My alarm went off several times and they never responded or contacted me. Luckily I was home and was able to stop it myself. Barbara's attitude is stink and she was the deciding factor of canceling. She refused to give me the manager's name. Even if I had decided to stay with them, she made me cancel because I could not deal with her rude attitude. Now they lost a loyal customer. If you want your alarm protected, do not use them. If you want good customer service, do not use them. Barbara needs to learn how to speak to people. read more

This company is run on a shoestring, mostly in collecting money ! I had them for about 5 years, did not use for the last 15 months because of a blinking light on panel following a Hurricane. Gave them 5 months notice to terminate as I was MOVING to a Retirement Community. They claimed I did not give sufficient notice to cancel and I had to pay $122 cancel fee. I explained that I could not pay that and the house had been sold. After 5 months of back and forth, Joan, the Manager said they would get a collection agency ! Well they did and now for $122 I'm dealing with a collection agency, at my young 75 years old. Stay away from this company. I never used the alarm so don't know if they'd properly respond or not. Company seems legit at first until it's time to cancel. As other reviewers have explained, they will continue to charge you even after you jump through their hoops to formally cancel the service in writing. In my case my contract had expired and I received a letter from them stating I didn't need to do anything if I did *not* wish to continue my service with them. So I did nothing. 3 months later I was autobilled for the next quarter billing. I called to explain I did not wish to continue service and referenced the letter they denied having sent. They informed me that per my contract (expired) I could not cancel without written notification. I explained how the terms of an expired contract cannot be applied to continue to bill me for service I had not approved past my contract date. I read the contract with the office manager on the phone. Contract clearly references services under the agreement of the contract. Nevertheless, I emailed as directed with all the details requested in writing to cancel my account. Email was sent immediately following my conversations and email correspondence with the office manager. 3 months later I receive yet another billing. In spite of email record to coincide with verbal communications 3 months prior, the office manager claims she had not received written request from me to cancel the account. Hard to believe she didn't see my email on that day given the intensive nature of our communications 3 months ago. I have no doubt she actively ignored my request to cancel because of her displeasure with our interaction and my vocal complaint of her company actions towards what had been a loyal customer prior to this occasion. read more

Loved that they showed up with a mask on. They were very prompt, friendly even wiped their feet off before coming inside. The completed work was beyond my expectations. High quality equipment installed by very knowledgeable workers who love their job. It was very hot the day they installed the equipment and for the workers it was even hotter in the attic. read more

They were very mindful in crafting a security solution that worked for me and addressed my concerns about trying to ensure most of the equipment was hidden away. They also did a great job of installing some wifi infrastructure and running a number of different cables in my home as well. read more

I never needed ACS help with my system over 18 years. I was unable to set my alarm a couple of weeks ago and called them for instructions. They said that I needed to have the system "reset" and that it required a secret code. They would send someone out with the code for $76. I am no longer a customer of ACS. read more

Tis is not a company I could recommend under any circumstances. They came out to repair my local alarm system and the repair man asked if I would like to be monitored by them. I told him I would try it for a while and he said I had to do it for a minimum of 3 months, which I did. Three months later I noticed they had deducted another 3 months from my account. After speaking with them I was told the paperwork I had signed was for a 3 year contract. After talking with them they told me tough, I should have known they were crooks and read all the paperwork I signed. read more

i am writing to confirm that we will not be renewing any monitoring with ACS Security. It is disappointing that the contract clearly states a , "Two year Contract" though the company did not intend this to be the case, and is purposefully attempting to collect revenues not agreed to. Based on numerous phone conversations with my with and myself (two with my wife and one with myself via phone -Jan through March 2013) and correspondence there was no mention of non renewal, "only in writing" until my discussion w/ Tim (Supervisor/Receptionist?) on 4-4-13. The only mention of this in the contract is in small print that is barely legible and clearly meant to be overlooked. Tim stated that there is a legal requirement to continue service without payment or ASC could be held liable for a burglary when the contract clearly states that they cannot be held liable for any damages or loss (Terms Section 9). It seems unclear as to the legal standing to provide, "overdraft protection" when it was verbally stated on three occasions that we would not be renewing. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (last week) and will be filing a complaint with the Fl Department of Business and Regulation (next week) if there is not adequate/swift resolution of this matter. It has been recommended to let your company remove the wireless transmitter (at our convenience and your expense) and have the deposit for the transmitter ($160) returned at this time. We did not ask for continued service and will not be held liable for any charges that we did not agree to; justified by fine print legalese (by Tim 4-4-13). It is interesting that all other contract information is in normal sized text. Based on the Federal Fair Debt Collection practices Act; if any further unauthorized billing occurs, any attempt at collection of non approved charges/late fees, or any placement of negative information on our credit report, the appropriate Stat/Federal governing body will be contacted and you can explain your business practices with them. I have all correspondence prior to the renewal date and none state anything about non-renewal only in writing- assumingly, nonpayment or verbal non-renewal would suffice (as with most other businesses). I would recommend a more honest approach to business and hope that you work to improve your business practices. Dear Herbert Morris; I am writing a second letter to ask that my account be closed and all, "fraudulent" fees be removed from my account. We did not ask to continue service after the Two Year contract (ending 1-21-2013) and feel the repeated attempts to collect fees for services not requested or rendered are extremely unprofessional/fraudulent. We have asked to discontinue service with the repeated phone calls to our home and have spoken and sent a letter to Tim (early April). He reminded us of the fine/deceptive print on the bottom of the contract specifying how the company would like our request to discontinue service in writing. This was never spoken of in the numerous phone calls or any of the letters sent prior to renewal and is viewed as deceptive in nature., We have sent all of this information to the NE Fl BBB to which Tim disregarded and did not reply (hence the current negative rating). We are currently finalizing a complaint to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation claiming deceptive practices and an attempt to collect fraudulent fees. We request the programmers (all necessary) codes for the alarm so that we may acquire service from another alarm service. The alarm was placed in the home when we bought the home (in 2009) and is our property. I/We request that our account be closed and all unauthorized fees removed. When our account shows a zero balance, we will set up an appointment to have the Long Range radio receiver (your property) removed (while leaving our alarm system functional) and request a check for the return of our $160 deposit for the receiver at that time. We have not had issues with the alarm serve itself, though are highly disappointed in your companies customer care (Primarily regarding our conversations/letter to Tim). I believe your company can/should do much better then provide the poor/unprofessional customer care that has even provided by Tim. I had hoped to conclude this without the help of government agencies though I feel that your management team has not been receptive to our reasonable requests and has let you down. If you have been the driving force behind this company for many years, I'm sure you understand the meaning of customer care.
