Whether you are looking for an acoustic or electric guitar The Guitar Shop in Anderson SC is THE…read moreplace you should look and buy. They have the most knowledgeable staff and have the best selection by far of any music store in the Upstate. Major brands such as Gretsch, Fender, EVH, PRS, Squier, Jackson, and Charvel are all in stock and the selection is impressive for a small shop. There are actually two shops in separate buildings, but no more than 20 feet apart. One building houses the best selection of acoustic guitars, acoustic amps, and keyboards I have found in SC. The other building contains an amazing selection of electric guitars ranging from teles, strats, baritone, hollow body, semi-hollow body, and solid body guitars of every brand, shape, size, and finish imaginable. You can also find a great selection of amps such as Paul Reed Smith, Fender, Marshall, etc. There is a wall full of strings in any size and brand you could ever need. There are a couple of walls filled with cables in every possible configuration. In front of the wall of strings is a display case filled with an insane collection of foot pedals that can make you sound like your favorite country or rock superstar. There is another filled with everything you'll need to maintain and keep your guitar in great condition for years to come. They also have a brilliant in-house guitar technician for all your set up, maintenance, and repair needs. I discovered The Guitar Shop about 5 months ago and since then have purchased a lot of products from them including guitars, amps, strings, pedals, maintenance supplies, cables, etc. I have never had a problem with any item and have learned that these guys will not simply try to sell you something you don't need. They are not pushy and are very helpful. They will even tell you when a less expensive product will suit your needs better than a more expensive one. So I have grown to trust and respect their expertise and advice. I have one of my most valuable guitars being serviced by their technician right now. That guitar has great sentimental value to me and I would not trust it with anyone else. It is a one of kind and irreplaceable. I know it is in good and capable hands and when it is returned to me it will play better than ever. For me, more important than the great inventory is great customer service. I walk in the door now and one of the employees usually greets me with a heavy sigh and the owner's father greets me with an insult or two, or three. Okay, maybe that sounds like terrible customer service, but it's not. They don't treat me like a dollar sign, or a stranger. No, I am treated more like family. The sighs and insults are all in fun and makes each visit more fun. You may walk in the store the first time as a potential customer, but soon you will become part of the family. It's a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere with no pressure put on you to buy anything. Every time I'm in town I drop in for a visit, which is quite frequently. I'm always glad to see everyone again, except for maybe the owner's father. Hey, he's not the only one that can throw out a good insult in fun. Don't worry, he can dish it out and he can take it. That's what makes it so much fun when I visit the shop. As you can probably tell I love The Guitar Shop and consider the staff and owner to be my friends, except for the owner's father. Just kidding. I'm sure he'll have a few new insults ready for me if he ever reads this review. I hope he can read since he was born before the alphabet was invented. Anyway, I know you'll love The Guitar Shop too when you drop in for a visit. My wife says The Guitar Shop has become my home away from home. It may soon become your new favorite place to go when you are in Anderson. Whether a newbie just learning to play, maybe wanting to take lessons, or even if you are a seasoned professional performer, you will find everything you want and need at The Guitar Shop. Sit down and play, or ask one of their talented staff members to play for you. Try out any guitar before you buy it. I have learned the hard way that guitars are not a one size fits all kind of instrument. Be sure to get the perfect guitar for your needs. Make sure it feels good in your hands and makes you want to play it before you spend your money. The staff will help you choose the best guitar for you. One more thing before I end this review. Don't be embarrassed to ask questions, even if you know nothing about guitars. You'll never learn if you don't ask questions. If a staff member can't answer your question they will work together to find the answer for you. In time, you will know as much about guitars as they do. Heck, you may already know more than the old man does. Sorry, I just had to get in one more jab at him. Trust me, if I didn't he would think I was mad at him. Besides, I know he really loves me. How could he not, right? Drop in soon and tell them Charles sent you.

They had a good selection (including the cutest pink .380 but alas, just a little outside my price range) and they were very knowledgeable. I ended up with a Taurus 9mm for what I felt was a very good price. One of the gentlemen even gave me an extra storage case that he had for free. I was very happy with the service and with my purchase. (I don't know why this says I'm from California, good Lord, I'm not, I'm from Georgia)
