This is by father most marked up place I've been too but what I was most disappointed by is that for a premium grocery store they only had a crappy selection of beef and I also bought a common thing that nobody screws up and their brand of sesame sticks and sesame stick snack mix is gross..your using bran for the demand sticks which everyone else labels it as such and some people prefer that but my entire family hated it on Easter bc u don't label it like everyone else as bran instead of regular ...so gross ..I'm not sure why anyone goes here they don't offer anything different or better it's just a huge price hike..never again read more

After moving to the area we have made several visits to the store. Each time the cashiers have come to provide crappy level of service. I asked to purchase 2 bags. Then made payment. I asked each time about bagging the order. This time the girl ignored me. The prior visit the young man remarked after I requested, " you expect me to do that " I have no problem going elsewhere. There's a Shop Rite a mile away. Maybe your store employees should visit a GIANT or Publix store to learn how customer service works. read more

There are many reasons why the parking lot is always empty here. From poor seafood, mostly unhelpful staff, digital coupons that you can't download when you're in the store, better selection and prices of products at ShopRite (everyone shops there for a good reason). I hardly ever go here, and when I do, it just reinforces my poor opinion of this store. It's clean, and some of the staff are friendly, but that's about the only good thing I can say. read more

When it comes to this Acme, please avoid the Seafood department, if you plan on buying Crab legs or Lobster. They purchase this merchandise frozen and it's packed in ice. When you attempt to order seafood by the pound, it's full of ice and this extra cost is passed to the customer. I have asked them several times to rinse off the ice, before it's weighed and they will not. They are fully aware they are overcharging you for ice and they advise "It's company policy", to overcharge customers. One way to tell- If your getting your food steamed on-site, is to ask for them to weigh the seafood, before and after they steam. You will see the weight is off by pounds not just a couple of ounces.*** Most of the time they will be very resistant or advise that management will not allow them to re-weigh cooked food. Now, I've tried to address this for years but they just like to rob their customers. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, because this is "Company Policy", and this robbery has to stop. I want back last Saturday for the 1st time in over a year. The same isles have the exact same problem. Frost inside all over the products. Now there are more wet floor signs and more cases sweating, dripping water on the floor. I asked the cashier what Amce is doing about it and she said, the humidity in the store is very high. Obviously Acme's refrigeration company is incompetent. WHY? Cause it's a fairly easy fix if you know what to look for. I guess ten thouand dollor settlements are far cheaper then a 100 dollar part. read more

Staff is super helpful; this location has almost everything I ever want or need. They've rearranged all the shelves again which is troublesome until you get used to it. I do wish they would bring back the bottled Japanese Ito En and Teas Tea tea, St Dalfour jams and jellies, Numi tea, and the Finnish rye crackers. Aside from that, I'm just glad this store is still operating and I have the opportunity to shop someplace convenient. read more

It pains me to write this review but this is something that I have to share with the public and Yelp community. There is an issue that has been problematic as someone who frequents and lives in the same township where this Acme is located. Acme's seafood department (with the blessing of the store manager) for some reason will not fulfill or listen to a simple request that I have made previously. If you order crab legs (which I've done often for years....they have just made it where they wont fulfill the request at all) and simply ask for excess ice to be rinsed off before it is weighed...regardless if they are on sale or not, they will refuse to do it. I went into Acme today, July 4th. The patrons ahead of me were getting crab legs and shrimp steamed and seasoned. It's nothing wrong at all with asking them to do it and it comes at no extra cost to the customer. But, for someone like myself and my spouse in my household, it is totally unnecessary. With only one person manning the seafood department, taking orders, prepping, steaming, and bagging up orders, it can be time consuming and was a very long wait. Realizing this and by the time the Acme employee got to me, she was already bewildered, tired, and obviously in need of a moment since she was the only one running the seafood department. I said I could wait briefly before giving her my order because she was the only one there for seafood. As I began to place my order, right off the bat I inform her that my order would not require steaming or seasoning but I would have small request regarding my order, which she was overjoyed based on her reaction with her hands going into a praying motion. My order was for 3lbs of crab legs on sale but my request was for the crab legs to be rinsed of excess ice before weighing it. Within a second, the seafood manager replies "Im not allowed to do that." I quickly respond and ask for a manager and not only do they send the front desk rep to come to the seafood department but the manager of the store was not in the store on a holiday. Leaving excess ice on frozen crab legs jacks up the price on the lbs im ordering and I have no doubt that this store is aware of it. I AM NOT AND NEVER WILL BE INTERESTED IN PAYING FOR ICE. Crab legs yes, but ice not rinsed off adds to the price of the crabs and that isn't fair or right. I will definitely be in contact with corporate bc this policy is not doing anything but leaving me with the lasting impression of profit over patron. SMH@ Acme.... read more

Look its Acme. It costs more then Shop Rite, but you don't have to deal with the herds of people. They do have some good sales if you pay attention. The store was clean, products looked fresh and organized. They could take better care of the restrooms and also hire some cashiers.. Why have ten or twelve registers if you are only ever going to open two? Many retail stores I see going under all have one problem, not enough people to check you out. Better yet, come up with an App where we can scan our groceries with our phone and pay on our way out the door.. Sams does this, So it can be done.. read more

You know when you know that cashier at this store line that you don't want to go in... well I went in that line today. Only had a few items it couldn't be that bad?!!?!? I would have gone to self check out but loaded free coupons and wanted to make sure that they came off. Put in phone number and coupons did not come off. My response was did it take my phone number? Nothing said and walking away she said this has been happening all day. Walked to her manager and brought her back. The manager asked if I clicked and I showed her that I did. She then clicked to ask if I put in that phone number ? And I said no I tried to ask the cashier before she walked away. I told the manger that the cashier did not answer my question before walking away. Then in a condensing voice she said yes you are right. Again this was not a small fifty sent coupon. This changed my price by $11 or her bring home pay for the hour. If it was her money she would have done the same thing. Haven't been to this Acme in 54 weeks and don't want to go again. read more

I'm a frequent shopper at this ACME because it's conveniently close to work. I purchased a pack of chicken thighs yesterday. You can see on the label that they are not yet past the sell by date but as I was getting ready to prepare dinner I noticed a nauseating rotting egg smell coming from the chicken. I googled " chicken that smells like rotten eggs" because I've never experienced this before. Turns out salmonella infected chickens will release a rotting egg smell. Thankfully I researched before eating the chicken. Buyers beware. read more

Overpriced and poor quality! This acme never fails to disappoint. It's more convenient for me to stop here on my way home than the shoprite, so occasionally I will and am reminded every time why i don't consistently shop here. Everything is always so over priced, even the "sale" items. Produce- expensive. Meat- expensive. Everything else- expensive. The final straw was last week i bought an overpriced pack of Boneless chicken breasts. I opened them up the following night and then smelled awful! They were definitely rancid so i tossed them. The one thing i do enjoy fron there is the store-made tortilla chips. Sometimes I'll stop in just for them. read more

Acme interior setup reminded me wildly of Super Stop & Shops that I have frequented back up in North Jersey. The prices are more expensive than other chains I am accustomed to, but they have all the necessities. Conveniently located in the middle of a sprawling plaza where you will find just about everything (frozen yogurt, Applebee's, Afghani food, banks, Chinese, Thai). You can get a lot done in this plaza. read more

Not a fan of this location. Asked the self check out worker about a price, and she didn't seem to like that. She told me to ask the department where I got the product. However there was no one in that department. I also notice, that the sale price sign is put on the wrong product. So when I went to checkout, the items that I thought were on sale, were not. This Acme has really gone down hill...or is it that the surrounding area has so many more options now? Years ago when I first moved here this store was it aside from what was then a more expensive Genuardis across the street. Well then Target hit the street between the two. Not long after Genuardis closed. With a Shoprite just around the corner and Walmart now about 8 mins away - Acme is barely holding on. All this and Acme still seems to be oblivious. Their pricing is still high with items priced $1 to 2$ more all the time. Sales are not enough when the store across the parking lot has an everyday lower price. The store feels overly cluttered for the lack of anyone actually being here no matter when I have gone by. And at times is does not seem that clean. They have all but given up in the bakery many times midday I go by there and no one seems to be there. The breads and cakes are over priced and look sad All in all I will go in there only when I am pressed for time on my way home and the traffic makes Acme the best option. No one is hardly there unlike the never ending crush at Target or Shoprite. I don't know how they stay open. read more

I normally do not shop at acme, I rather go to Shoprite. After today's trip to acme I will never go back to acme again! I was at the check out counter , and the cashier Eileen was very nasty. She was looking at me with disgust . Then I handed her a few coupons that I printed on coupons.com and she said because they all had the same code she could t accept them , I said that's not a problem. She then said with an attitude I'll go find out. I had already said it's fine but I feel she wanted to make a seen that she was right and I'm wrong. I said to the manager that walked over I already said it's fine I guess it's just different here because shoprite allows it, but no problem. Now at this point there is a line and everyone is looking at me like I am some trash bag , even though I said from the beginning NO PROBLEM ! I didn't question it , I didn't disagree. BUT THIS WOMAN WANTED TO MAKE ME LOOK BAD SO MAKE A SEEN. She was discriminating against a young tattooed mother of two from the moment she laid eyes on me, the tension could have been cut with a knife. I like this store very much...the staff is friendly and attentive. . The seafood dept. well stocked... a good shopper will find many bargains if one just follows the sales.. i have been shopping this store for over 20 years.. and can count the miscues over that time on one hand.. all cheerfully rectified by responsive management. . Sometimes there aren't enough check out lanes open.. but thst would be my biggest issue.. the quality is very good in produce too.. all in all.. this is my favorite grocery store.. and I shop them all.. Target, ShopRite, Walmarr.. even Aldi..it isn't a Wegmans.. or WholeFoods.. but they do have prepared offerings and a decent salad bar... read more

Yelp has this store in Clementon NJ zip code, it should be Voorhees. OK place to go solid staff. My big issue along with every other Supermarket is they never stock enough regular diet ice tea. Acme is overpriced in comparison to all of their local competitors. Why would anyone shop there to pay more for the same products. They offer zero for the increase in prices. Often, even their advertised prices are more than the regular prices of other grocery markets. I have seen this Acme go down hill over the years losing most of their customers. It is a wonder they can afford to keep the doors open. Anyway I figured I would go in to pick up a few items today and went to the self checkout. Two of the four self checkout kiosks were broken and apparently the one that I used wasn't working either. Every time I scanned something and put it in the bagging area the machine told me to put the item in the bagging area even though it was already there and wouldn't allow me to scan the next item until I did so. Finally an employee walked over and asked me if everything was OK to which I told her no and explained the situation. She said "oh yeah that happens and walked away." I scanned yet another item and it happened again; however the employee was nowhere to be found. I waited for a short time before another associate finally walked over and in fustration left my 30 dollars worth of groceries as I said. "I'll go spend my money somewhere where they will appreciate it." The smart a**, ill trained in customer service employee sarcastically replied "Thanks for your patience." Wow! That will be the last time I ever go to this store. Hopefully, this store will fold and a new store with reasonable prices and customer service oriented employees will take its place. read more
