The most expensive store! I have switched to ShopRite. ShopRite the shelves are always stocked and the prices are by far the best. Also customer service and cashiers are so accommodating and pleasant. Acme I feel so rushed and a lot of times have to bag my own groceries. Unless I go through check out. The one snow storm I was checking out and this kid was so sick and blowing his nose and wiping his nose. It made me sick. Left my cart and left. Like why did management let him work when he was that sick! Very unsanitary! Acme could make prices more affordable but instead choose price gouging. If stores like ShopRite, Walmart and Aldis prices are cheaper and more affordable to struggling customers then why can't ACME! Definitely shore what ACME cares about more and that would be the bottom dollar for them verses making things better for the customers! read more

Bad service, they don't keep their promotions. I made an online purchase of more than $75. Supposedly they have a promotion: spend $75 on your first online purchase and we'll refund you $30, but they don't refund it. I wrote to ask about it. Supposedly they say they'll refund it, but it's a lie, and in the store they don't solve anything for you either! They lie about their promotions. read more

This acme is definitely a bit dated compared to a lot of other grocery stores but they have a really good selection of food, a large produce section, a good deli, and they also serve alcohol. We bought one alcoholic item and had to wait in a much larger line because only one of the lines was offering beverage purchases. Our cashier didn't ring up our produce correctly charging us for a much more expensive item - not sure why he didn't check the sticker if you don't know what the item is you're ringing up. He also just seemed to be very miserable. We then had to go to customer service to fix it and the teen working there was very nice and able to fix it for us. I don't like that a lot of deals are through online coupons online but I guess that's part of the modern world. It just is a pain to download and create an account just to get a decent price. If I'm in the area I'll stop by but this isn't my local store. Also there parking lot is terrible. read more

I've been in hospitality industry my whole life. I understand good customer service. I love to shop locally. ACME is very expensive but has great quality products and I usually go there for seafood or meats. Today I stood at the seafood counter for about 2 minutes looking for Ahi Tuna. There were three perfect ones.... Unfortunately the young man Nick looked at me then walked to the back not once but twice after making eye contact with me twice. It seemed like he wanted nothing to do with me. I said hello he stared awkwardly at me. I said hello again... he replies. " You need something?" I said hello again... He rolled his eyes at me said hello I think it almost killed him inside to say hello. I said ok thank you Nick. I'm good. Hope your day gets better. I mentioned something to front of store manager. Older lady with glasses. She wouldn't even make eye contact with me while speaking to her. I was very polite to her. She was to busy highlighting a piece of paper. She said we'll address it. That's great and all. I definitely won't be back. These two individuals need to be spoken too. Id expect this from kids. These were adults. It's the small things that make the difference. I went to wild fork down the road. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Take a page from their book. Hope you guys figure it out. I hate having to write these kind of reviews. I'm not one to complain. Fairly new to the area and decided to see how ACME compared to Giant, Wegmans and others as I used to drive past there on my daily commute..and wow...and not in a good way. The store reminded me of a throwback from 1980 at first glance, then as I wandered through there were limited choices and the prices were outrageous!! One of the worst meat selections in the area I have witnessed so far. I am talking that I was looking for a pkg of 8/20 ground beef. I finally found it behind the meat counter where I would have had to wait in line for someone to package it up for me! I left without it. There is no way that any real baked goods come out of that "bakery"..all prepackaged stuff. Last straw was I needed some light cream for a soup recipe..there was none left on the shelf..left without that as well. Obviously I will never return..will go out of my way to go elsewhere! read more

If you want a bottle of wine and really feel like waiting behind 3 people with full carts full of groceries because 1 line is for beer and wine. Then have fun. This place has no clue what costumer service is and does not care. So pay a buck extra and wait an extra 20 minutes to check out or hit the state store and be out in 1 minute. The Acme in Horsham is the worst food store in the area. The prices are high and the customer service is horrible. I've never seen so many miserable employees in one store. I've experienced this many times but stop in on occasion hoping it's improved. Nope! I was in the Horsham Acme today and had to go to the customer service desk with a question. The woman behind the counter acted like I was bothering her and was really rude. She should quit this job and work somewhere where she has no contact with people. Back to the Horsham Giant. I live right down the street from this Acme, and it says something when I drive 10 mins away to another food store. Even if I just rush in for a gallon of milk I'm often treated horrible by any staff member. Whether it be them in the way stocking, or a rude cashier I can't catch a break!! I live right around the corner from this location. While they are a bit expensive compared to other supermarkets, they always seem to have what I need when I need it. I was on a hunt for Cilantro and Acme was the last place I was going to. I had been to a few other produce joints, but they ran out. I can NOT make fresh salsa with out cilantro. No way, now how. So I ended up at Acme & they had 3 lovely bunches. Just $1.29. I also picked up some tomatillos! I don't make it a point to do my regular food shopping here, but when I need to run to the store after running out of something or need a last minute item, Acme is there to meet my needs. read more

Great first impression. As big as Giant, super clean, huge variety, fresh produce, nice selection of meats & seafood, so far I'm loving it. Then reality hits, the prices! Compared to other food stores in the area they are the most expensive. Example, the deli. Everything is $9.98 to $10.98 a pound. ShopRite and BJ's is $6.98. Stoffer's frozen food is $2.00 more each. Everything that I looked at was marked up and cheaper at other stores. Conclusion. This is a really nice store but too expensive to shop for a full food order. Shop there for sale items and get out. I rarely shop at any ACME market due to the outrageously high pricing. I can't imagine how they're even still in business. I only shop when there's a great sale on something. I never buy seafood, deli or much meat here. Sometimes, the produce here is old and rotten and, again, prices are so high. It pains me to see how much higher they are across the board on everything. Other stores are not only much more reasonable but the selection is so much better than any ACME. And, ACME employees (not all) aren't so friendly in any of the stores I've been to. read more

Went to the deli and stood there waiting (I was the only customer waiting) while associate after associate behind the counter glanced at me and then went back to whatever they were doing. The only reason I gave three stars was because of Walter, who looked up, saw that no one else was moving, dropped what he was doing to help me...putting the customer first. read more

I started shopping here about a month ago when I began comparing their ads with Giant's. They have some pretty good deals and now you can get gas rewards there too. I guess they are trying to compete with Giant. I like that you can go to any Sunoco to redeem your gas rewards and you're not limited to going to the few locations where Giant lets you redeem points. While some items are occasionally higher than I would pay at Giant, the selections and overall quality of the food, especially the meats, makes it worth it. They seem to be better staffed as well. Staff members are friendlier and more helpful here. Whenever I needed assistance at Giant, the staff there acted like I was bothering them. read more

I've been loyal to Acme my entire life, which is over 50 years. But, I gotta tell you my loyalty is being challenged because shopping at Acme - and maybe it's THIS Acme - is really wearing me down. I used to admire Acme for their meats, their signature Lancaster Brand. I am no longer a loyal meat-buyer at Acme, as I find their products to be sub-par. The chicken is virtually tastless and when it does impart taste, it's not good. The beef is also flavorless and often tough. I now purchase my meat elsewhere, but continue to buy grocery items at Acme. Their 10-for-10 values are sometimes good (and you don't have to buy 10 to get that price), but they're often out of those products. The prepared food selections are a joke. And, who doesn't love standing at a deli counter where there are 5 people behind the counter, not working mind you but talking to one another, while only one is waiting on customers, regardless of how many customers are standing their with their "number" waiting to be called. There isn't even an acknowledgement that you're standing there. There is never enough shopping carts inside the store, and I now know that I have to grab one in the parking lot before entering. I do like the fact they now have a Liquor Store inside the store (even if the choices are meager), and they do a pretty nice job of opening additional check out lanes when the store gets crowded, which these days is rare. I've afraid by beloved Acme is going down the tubes, as many of my friends and neighbors are now Giant and Wegman devotees. Acme, get your act together before you lose me too! read more

I live right around the corner and stop here often to pick odds and ends up. But I am careful what I buy. They often have unannounced produce sales with items marked down to $1 for a day or two. I get some great deals, Fresh rolls are always good. Seafood is fresh and reasonably priced. Meat - it can be waaaay too expensive, same with lunch meat and cheese at the deli counter. Who wants to pay $8/pound for domestic generic boiled ham? Who wants to pay $5 -6/pound for regular American cheese? So, be careful what you buy, but you can also get some good deals. read more

This afternoon I was waiting at the Deli counter at the Horsham market. No one in sight, I waited for five minutes when two women came out in conversation, looked at me,turned around and went back. Still chatting, they returned still studiously ignoring me. A young man named David came out with food to be roasted, stopped what he was doing and courteously waited on me. News flash if you want too be miserable stay home. 3 people I spoke to today while checking out were so miserable, probably because I asked if it was possible to open more than 1 check out. 7 people in 1 line ridiculous to not open another check out. Christy was so miserable she should have gone home, Mare was ignorant when anyone spoke too her because "she was already to busy doing too many other things". The person in charge had to check out and she was not happy having to do that. PEOPLE if your that miserable because you have to work retail get another job.
