I dont know how many poor reviews this place needs before any improvment is done. Monday night, 4:15, 25 minutes at the deli counter, only 3 people ahead of me i think, the ticket counter is there but not used, i pulled tix #95, the board said 43, I asked the employee behind the counter. How do we know who's next? And she said," you will figure it out." 2 elderly employees there and i am NOT age bashing,.but he asked me 5 times what i wanted and the amount and still got the amount wrong. Checkouts at a busy time 2 registers open forcing u to do self checkout,.the produce is sub par as always. This store is a" Oops, I forgot something.Stop and get store". This store is very clean. I would give the store more stars, but the prices are pretty high. Honestly though, the only reason I frequent this store is because of a very cute worker. I haven't seen him in quite some time. I hope he still works there. He's very helpful, and he seems like a sweet guy. Yesterday I visited ACME with a Rain Check for six 6 packs of diet Peach Snapple. Couldn't find any on the shelf. Went to Customer Service and spoke with Mandy. She automatically put her brain into common sense and went into the back and came out with three 12 packs. Used the Rain Check and all was well. Glad ACME has people like Mandy that can be creative. I'm tired of this store. I'm tired of the 1/4 thick pre sliced deli meats, I'm tired of the attitudes of the employees. Employees too busy talking than paying attention to customers and making mistakes. Mistakes are fine and no big deal when you are paying attention to your job. Humans make mistakes it's not a big deal. But when your too busy talking to a co workers about your personal life and you make mistakes that's Infuriating. Has happened too many times. Management does not care. I'll drive the extra distance to Waretown to go to Shop rite. Not worth my time or money to patronize this store anymore. read more

NEVER as crowded as Shoprite on route 72 but prices are not very competitive but you do find the items that you need. Always well stocked.

Although it may be true that people around here think Shoprite is always cheaper than any other grocery store, I think those people are loyal to Shoprite and don't know what lower prices really are. I think Acme is cheaper on many items. For instance, I drink coffee a lot, and a half gallon of H&H at Acme is $4.79 currently. It's $5.29 at Shoprite in Manahawkin. This store is Goldilocks in size: not too big and not too small. It's easy in, easy out. Forget that at the Shoprite in Manahawkin...which is a madhouse in the summer, and the parking lot is even worse. Additionally, they just put in a Starbucks there, and the store has a clean, upscale feel. I really like the Lancaster brand meats. read more

I went to the Acme yesterday to buy some hot soup. I put the soup in the cups but there was no tops. So I asked a worker and she looked around and could not find any. So she asked around. Couldn't find any. So she called customer service. So 2 workers come and looks says they don't have anymore. So the girl leaves the guy tells me just to take it without the cover. Or go to the deli and see if they have something. I said it's your store why don't you look. He says I'm not even on the clock. So I just went to the deli and asked for 2 containers. If I didn't have oral surgery I would of just left it. Manager there could care less. I told her not to leave the soup out. If you can't cover it. I guess they were just to lazy to go to their stock to get them. Customer service are usually nice. I don't know where they got that crew from. read more

I love this Acme. It's convenient, clean, and there's a Starbucks for people that need caffeine to shop. (Like me, I personally HATE grocery shopping), but I love this store! It's never over crowded and I've never had any problems. read more

I love this Acme. Lots of choice and always getting new inventory. Unfortunately they leave carts all over the parking lot and I've recently seen 2 by cars, I ran and stopped the third. The bakery also completely messed up my sons birthday cake but I fixed it at home. All in all I'm sill pretty happy with this store. read more

Store nice and clean..selection of items a lot less than Shop Rite. Deli counter for cold cuts is a joke..takes longer to get your meats than it does to shop. Speaking with several employees all state they are understaffed and management dont seem to care/, employees have been due promised raises and never received. Visited this location on 05/18/19 and omg this place is an embarrassment . The staff is super rude - i constantly bring home expired goods every time never fails sorry I don't think I should have to check expiration as part of my food shopping experience and the Starbucks inside can't seem to make a drink with consistency - going to see who I contact about cleanliness and expired foods and veggies because returning groceries is not really something I feel I should have to do and hold on to a grocery receipt that's crazy so basically I am giving free money to an establishment with already high prices . I am going to stick to shoprite May be a longer drive but hey it's quality food and service in one - will keep leaving reviews till management turns or staff gets proper training . read more

I am up from North Carolina visiting my family. I have never ever experienced such rudeness and disregard for their customers. They were too busy talking to each other to even acknowledge us. I was excited about the Acme untill I shopped there. No it's not the prices nor the people. It's the dark, dreary, dingy, look of the store that disapoints me. Dark Green ceiling all the lighting doesn't change that. It was an UGLY, dark,dreary, dingy Genuardi's now the only thing that changed was the name. Acme. It really looks like an old dirty building. I would like to first state that I normally don't write reviews. However, due to the manner in which I was treated this morning in Acme, Barnegat, I felt a review deserved to be written. I have been to this location multiple times prior and always felt welcomed as a patron shopping for my family unlike any other person walking through the door. On Easter Sunday, 04/16, in the Year 2017 - I have to put this here to remind everyone what time era we live in- I went into Acme to make a quick purchase for dinner and was greeted with total disrespect. After picking up my items I headed to the 10 items or less line where the cashier I was met with name was Vincent. As I approach, the first thing I noticed was Vincent's approachability and politeness to the lady ahead of me. I felt, in that moment, that Vincent was a good employee happy to be doing his part for his corporation. Sadly, this was not my experience. I approached Vincent, directly after this woman and greeted him with the festive greeting of "GoodMorning, Happy Easter". To this my response I received wasn't even a word, just a grunt and suck of teeth. During this I still remained polite with a smile, all the while receiving a look of disdain. At the end of the transaction I proceeded to hand Vincent my money, to which he snatched out of my hands, proceeded to collect my 13.00 in change, and threw it on the counter. The shear disregard that came from that I thought would be distasteful enough but oh no, this "Employee" decided to look at me, smirk, and rudely ask was I going to pick that up. Now to some this may not be seen as a problem- I'm not one of you, I apologize if this hurts the "passive of heart". I work as a retail branch manager and was shocked at this unprofessional behavior, but more than that I was saddened to see that in this time period there is still "bias" treatment still being attached to ones race. NO ONE-NO ONE SHOULD BE TREATED WITH SUCH DISRESPECT!!! My money is from hard work like many others which,as a consumer, I can spend anywhere and yet I show my loyalty toward my community and spent it there. I feel that Vincent should be reminded that with consumers-ALL CONSUMERS- of all colors, creed, and religion deserve to be treated with the same level of respect. If he isn't capable, he should no longer be employed, but I will say this is my last time visiting this location. read more

Love the location of this Acme...1 1/2 miles door to door. Prices are getting better and/or equal to Shoprite...Employees are friendly, however, could use more check-out registers open during peak periods. Produce and Deli Departments are my favorites with bakery running a close third. Meat Dept. runs Pork specials and best is the Hatfield Brand. yummy! .Find myself humming along to the store music while I shop which is enjoyable...Overall, very pleased. read more
