Master-level window installers and repairers. Ask for a visit from the "older Dave" lol. Whatever they are paying him, and whatever you end up paying, trust me, he's worth every penny and it'll be many times less than the cost of a brand new window installation. Dave took the time to fix our condo building's 15-year old window frame that had become "warped" over the years due to the building shifting. It just needed some shims between the jam and building to help it adjust.and be re-squared. It took a 90 minutes or so... but saved us THOUSANDS of dollars rather than replacing the entire window which is what two other local window businesses tried to tell us/sell us without even thoroughly investigating the cause of the problem. I work in property management, understand the mechanics of the issue... and can't recommend Dave and Acme enough for a repair job like this. read more

I am updating this review - my impression for this company changed. My first contact with them happened during ownership transition hence the initial problems. I was contacted by the new owner and received explanation that made sense to me. What's more - all further communications were prompt and solid - we ordered windows! Today the windows were installed on time. There is a manufacturing flaw which will be corrected (the owner personally checked it and by his call all windows will be replaced. This suggests a very solid business really worth of recommendations. I will update the review when all is complete but expect it to be five stars. Highly recommend! read more

This company has been hired to do work for me twice in a little over a year. The first time it was to make new window screens for the whole house-12 windows in all. The second time was today to replace a lower window sash that had cracked. On both occasions an Acme employee came out to my house and measured the windows. On both occasions all the measurements were wrong (the first time all 12 window screens and today the pane of glass) and I had to wait for them to completely remake the screens, and this time the pane of glass. I am not sure how a company that has been in business this long gets measurements on the same windows wrong twice in the space of just shortly over a year, but when all the company has to say to a customer who has had this situation twice is, "It happens," there's a problem. read more

I hate to be the one the leave a not so great review, but I didn't have a wonderful experience with them. We used ACME glass to replace our sliding glass door to our condo. Let me just say first off that the quality of the door and their work on installation was not bad at all, it was quite acceptable. Our problems arose from communication and delivery issues. We had called to have them come out and do a measurement for the door on a certain day. I rearranged my schedule so that I could be there. They did not show up. I called again to reschedule for the next day and they did come that day, telling me that the office would call and let me know when the door had been ordered. I never got a call. I called them a week later to check the status of the order. They had already ordered the door and it was en route. Kind of annoying, but whatever, things fall through the cracks. Said they would call when the door came in to set up an installation time. Never called. I called them 2-3 weeks later and the office manager said "oh yeah, thats definitely here" and proceeded to set up an installation time. I can't help but wonder if they were ever going to let me know that the doors were there. As someone who has worked in retail, I understand things get misplaced and orders go missing occasionally. That being said, this wasn't a great experience and I would be hesitant to try them again. read more

I had them out to replace a few windows with the plan to do a few a year until all of my windows are replaced. I started this project last fall. Acme Glass had the best quote all things considered. They did a nice job and were very professional. Overall, I was very happy with Acme glass. My only complaint would be the windows (I think they were ecoshield) seemed a little cheap and I didn't like that they came with a half screen instead of the full. They have completely worked out, though, and have proven to be decent windows over the past year. Truthfully, I think they were a good match for my home and budget. In the end, I will very likely be calling them very soon to take care of a few more windows this year. read more

When I purchased my home, the cabinets came without glass (lazy, previous homeowners). I chose ACME as they're right down the street from my house and I've always heard good things from friends. I was extremely happy with the service. I dropped my cabinet doors off around 7:45 am on Friday and had my cabinets back on Saturday around 11 am. We only needed the extended period to have the silicone holding the windows in dry overnight. The price was very reasonable and the glass actually unwarped the small bend in one of the cabinet doors. read more

I needed a piece of frosted glass to replace the one in my medicine cabinet. I thought I'd have the best luck at one of the big box home improvement stores, but neither could accommodate me. In fact, I went out to Home Depot and the customer service people were swamped and overwhelmed. After standing in line for 20 minutes, all I got was a "nope!" when I finally got to the counter. So I googled "glass shops" and Acme popped up. Acme Glass is on my walking route to and from work. I pass it every day. They didn't come to mind right away because it's such a small job.
