The food is A FLAVOR BOMB! Everything I've tried here has been really good. The downside is parking since it is on a busy street but I don't mind just to get my hands on this food . SO GOOD!

Oxtail

This was my first time trying this place and it's now my new Jamaican spot. First of all the portions were very generous, especially for it to be oxtail! It was flavored to perfection and falling off the bone. It also was a good cut of oxtail too, not fatty at all and actually meaty. I love that they gave the option to put the gravy on the rice which I did. The cabbage tastes just like when I make mine, the plantains were sweet and cooked to perfection. The beef patty was huge and tasty! And the meal came with festival bread which was a nice touch. I will DEFINITELY be back! Next time I'll go in person (ordered from DoorDash). I also am a Caribbean woman so my opinion here means something.

So happy Ackee Bamboo Jamaican Cuisine is back, and now in a beautiful new home on Robertson. This has always been one of my staple spots for Jamaican food, and the new location delivers the same great flavor with an even better setup. I called my order in ahead of time, and they told me it'd be about 15 minutes. Perfect, since I live about that far. When I arrived, I only waited about five minutes in the lobby before my food came out piping hot. I ordered two large oxtail plates, and they were everything they needed to be: tender, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. Each plate came with rice and peas, plantain, and veggies, all cooked perfectly. I also grabbed a side of jerk chicken, which came with three pieces and had great heat and seasoning. Everything tasted amazing. The new space is clean, bright, and thoughtfully set up. There's a lobby area for waiting and a seated area on the left if you want to dine in. I went on a rainy Saturday night, so it wasn't busy, but the hospitality and quality were still on point. After being closed for a while, it's so good to have Ackee Bamboo back, and with the same recipes we love. Ten out of ten.

Just received my DoorDash order. Curry jackfruit and Veggie Curry Soup!!! Omg it was extremely amazing! It got to me super hot and tasted soooo fresh. I am soooo satisfied. I haven't had a meal this wonderful in a long time via delivery. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to this meal. Please know it is very much appreciated. Thank you

Curry Goat, Jerk Chicken

We're lucky to have an abundance of Jamaican spots in LA. I've never been to a Jamaican restaurant where the food was disappointing. But Ackee Bamboo's jerk chicken and curry goat are next level. The meats. It's all about the meats. They are so tender and flavorful. We're talking slow-cooked, fall-off-the-bone, juicy deliciousness. It's a good idea to call ahead if you're hungry. We called about 15 minutes ahead and waited another 15 minutes when we arrived. The woman up front was nothing but friendly. It's an easy-to-miss, small, hole-in-the-wall joint with a few tables inside and outside. But we couldn't care less about the atmosphere. It's all about how good the food is. And my wife and I loved and devoured our meal. We'll be back!

A friend said that Ackee Bamboo has the best Jamaican food in LA so I pulled up to find out. When I took my first bite of jerk chicken I was absolutely blown away by the flavor. My friend didn't lie, Ackee Bamboo has the best Jamaican food in LA. My beef patty was super fresh and crispy. I can't wait to return to try more dishes! Customer service was on point too! Thanks for the delicious Sunday dinner!

Jamaican Patty

Always friendly customer service. Good food. Love the patties. Anytime I'm in the neighborhood, I make it a point to stop by.

Large oxtail plate was so good. Delicious, fresh food. Very flavorful. Meaty oxtail and not a bunch of bones. I only took off a star because my festival was a tad undercooked but I'm sure they were just doing their best to get my order out quickly. If i hadn't ordered takeout and noticed once I had already left, I would have mentioned it and I'm positive they would have replaced it. It was so good tho, best festival I've had minus the little rawness in the middle. The coconut crunch cake (I think that's what she called it?) really sealed the deal for me. It was delicious!!!! Very happy to see an La staple like this on the west side. I will be back!!

I started ordering from Ackee Bamboo about a month ago, and I can't stop! The oxtails are seriously so good they're incredibly tender, fall right off the bone, and are so juicy. Everything is seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor. I keep telling myself I'm going to try something different, but the oxtails are just too addictive to pass up. I can't wait to work my way through the rest of the menu because if it's anything like the oxtails, I'm sure it'll be amazing.

This place is such a gem! The menu is on point. From the octopus salad to what might be the best Peruvian ceviche I've had since actually being in Peru, and the best part, it's all incredibly fresh and sourced from New Zealand; this place is a must-try. And considering LA prices and the quality and freshness of seafood coming all the way from New Zealand, the price point is actually really great. The service is also amazing. Clark is incredibly knowledgeable about the menu (and just great in general). You can also order platters to go ...they'll prep and shuck everything for you, or provide everything you need to do it yourself, which is my preferred route since I actually love shucking my own. Net-net: an LA gem and an absolute must-try. And then probably try again...and again. Enjoy!

I walked in at 2 and it was empty but it was open so I opted to sit outside where there was a breeze. I ordered the lobster reef SVB and it was decent. I also ordered the tuna crispy rice, I wasn't expecting that much tuna on top of it. Also it wasn't like the many other crispy rice I had. If you're not completely comfortable with eating this amount of raw tuna, with zero sauce on it...I would skip it. But it was a generous portion. Ordered the mussels with extra garlic bread ($4.95) I knew I wasn't going to finish it but I love garlic bread for my curry sauce. The mussles itself was pretty big. Bigger than some places I have ordered at. The curry sauce was underwhelming for me. I seek out places that offers mussles without the traditional garlic white wine sauce. Curry is usually the 2nd option in most places. Although it had curry flavor. Something was missing. Maybe some spice or something. But I also love bolder flavors, so it might be perfect for everyone else. Overall, I got to try this place since it's been on my list. My bill was about $95 before tip. Street parking only, it would be difficult during dinner rush since there are several hot spots aceoss the street.

The oysters and salmon were especially memorable--about as fresh as seafood gets. We ended up ordering far more than we probably should have, but it gave us a chance to sample a good cross-section of the menu. We started with a half dozen oysters and the mussels before moving on to the branzino, cioppino, and Yukon potatoes. Everything was excellent, and the portions were generous enough that we brought more than half of our entrées home for another meal. I'd only been to the seafood market once before, but this dinner reminded me that there's much more to this place than buying fresh fish. Since I work nearby, I've already decided to make Friday stops part of my routine so I can pick up fresh seafood for dinner on the way home. Would we come back? Absolutely. We ordered Ms. Kim's seafood soup, the clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, and the catch of the day (Mahi Mahi). The soup was bland and lacked what I assumed was the Korean inspired flavor of Jampong. The chowder was good but was on the more savory side and the shrimp cocktail was fresh, thick and juicy. The downer for me was the catch of the day. The vegetables and salad were tasty but the fish was very bland and on the tougher side. It came with a mango salsa but I didn't get any of the flavor of salsa. Everything was pretty pricey as well. Overall costed us $100. Originally I wanted the grilled lobster or fresh crab but it didn't seem worth $70 for me. Overall it was a good experience, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way for this restaurant.
