I read the news, I don't watch it (too sensational), and the newspapers I subscribe to, The NY Times, and The Washington Post, don't cover things as mundane and theft of car parts, so I had no clue that stealing catalytic converters was a thing, and even less of a clue that we own two of the hottest vehicles they target, one of which is our humble 2003 Honda Element. Well my gap in knowledge was righted quickly when my 16 year old called home to say his car was making this crazy loud noise. Turns out thieves had targeted his car in the school parking lot! I LOVE not being a slave to his extracurriculars anymore, and set about righting this situation ASAP. I called around getting crazy quotes ranging from 2K to 4K to replace the catalytic converter AND time estimates of two weeks to fix. I even went so far as to file an insurance claim before I reached out to Aces. The guy that answered the phone (didn't grab his name) reassured me it was an easy fix. Best of all it could likely be done in 30-45 MINUTES and cost less than $350.00!!!!!!! That is 10% of some of the quotes I was given and a quick turnaround! My son had been driving my car as my husband was out of town and his car was also on the top 5 list of targeted vehicles and so he was in no rush to have his car fixed, but I was desperate (I missed my car's amenities, LOL), so I drove there early this morning to try the repair. Sure enough, I was in and out in the promised time and for the promised amount. I have to return when the rear O2 sensor the thieves cut, and I had already ordered, comes in so they can attach it, but the car is completely road safe now and with the nice converter gone, thieves should leave the car alone. Lastly, he showed me the cover I bought to protect my hubby's vehicle--we shouldn't have this problem again. It's a shame I have to be the whistle blower on this one considering they have a 5-star rating. I was in a few days ago to have my inspection done. I've been in the process of transferring from another state and it's been a very challenging process. Let's just say the good ol' state of Texas is requiring a lot of documentation (and I'm a returning resident!) I came to get my vehicle inspection, passed it, and paid 26.71 for the inspection. I then asked him for proof of inspection and he said his printer was broken and I could print it online. (I thought maybe I could but the courthouse told me that document won't work for the State of Texas.) When I was there the first time he said there's no way he could do it. He can't even email it to me. He said he would "text me a picture of the screen". He wrote down his name (Roberto) and number and said to call him if I have problems. So of course I did. I had to come back by to get the "official state document" of the inspection because of course the courthouse required it and the one I printed from the site would not work for them. Roberto insisted I could've done it online. He has been very passive, dismissive, and rude. Of course he will print out this document for me but "I'll have to wait because his printer is slow". Well, here I thought it was broken!? The printout took 18 minutes. Now I can return to the courthouse. All of which could've been avoided had he just provided me the document in the first place. This situation has cost me time and money. This is no way to run a business and you really should buy a new printer. I love to support businesses in the community instead of corporate companies but I won't come back here again. They are unprofessional. read more

I phoned Robert earlier at the beginning of the week, and he was the ONLY establishment that offered the best price for installation of a midpipe for my 2013 Scion TC. I decided to do a walk-in and we were greeted and taken cared of quickly. It was done professionally and in a timely manner. I had forgot that car inspection was due since December 2018, and he managed to squeeze that in quickly too! I vouch for quick, professional work at this mom and pop shop! Please don't hesitate to go see them. On a side not, the location could be a bit hard to miss, but if you go pass the cementary (going South on 59, er I-69) you went too far. I initially left a review for the muffler swap I had done at the Hollock St location. Since the Eastex Fwy location is closer to my house I took my truck here to get the rest of the work done. I first asked about wanting to make the truck louder, and Robert advised against removing the resonator. Thought it over for a day then went back and had them remove the resonator just to try it. OMG what a mistake! The Magnaflow muffler went from a beautiful deep rumble to a deafening cannon sound. Absolutely horrible. I called Robert and begged him to dumpster dive for my old exhaust and to salvage the stock resonator. He did and held on to it until I could get b to the shop. Took the truck in, had the resonator put back in (we had a good laugh) and got the dual exhaust put in. Robert was absolutely awesome. He never made me feel like I should have known what I was doing, and took the time to explain everything to me. The shop does quality work, and I am very pleased with the install and the way my truck sounds and drives now. Highly recommend giving Robert your business. read more
