My husband and I reported to him that our daughter suffered from bloating and constipation. Dr Lee said to give her laxatives. We questioned this because she was so little. He never followed up to see if her condition was getting better or worse. Not even sure if he requested records from her previous pediatrician, in which we reported that she had not had a bowel movement within the first 48 hours after her birth. Being new parents, we trusted his opinion, him being a pediatrician in practice for many many decades. Over 9 years later, after enduring chronic constipation with our child, she has been recently diagnosed with Hirschsprung Disease. A disease that one of the symptoms is no bowel movement within the first 48 hours after birth. A red flag indicator that Doctor Lee failed to take further necessary action to look into this concern. Even after this was brought to his attention by the baby's parents. Beware of this doctor!!!

Nowadays everything's run through large medical groups, like optum and Kaiser, which I feel results in the lost of the personal touch of patient treatment, not to mention that with these large medical groups it's impossible to get a same day appointment should someone fall ill unexpectedly. I experienced that exact same situation a while ago when my two year old developed a fever and I had to scramble to find him a pediatrician last minute, his normal pediatrician told me the soonest appointment would be the next day and all other large medical groups I called told me the couldn't squeeze us in for weeks. I explained my two year old had a fever of 101 but that didn't accomplish a thing. Thankfully when I called Dr. Kim's office his staff told me they could see us same day, during the visit Dr. Kim was courteous and straightforward. He calmed me down when I seemed worried and he gave good sound advice on how to care for a sick toddler.
