DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ACE PEST CONTROL. I reached out to Ace Pest Control because they are local, and I wanted to offer the business to a local vendor. I wanted to remove a bald faced hornet nest the diameter of 1.5 basketballs that appeared in the 2nd floor eaves of one of our buildings within a two week period. Owner/operator Michael Kuttner seemed personable and responsive in our first phone conversation. He quoted me a price of $200.00 to remove the nest. We agreed that he would come out and take a look later in the week. He didn't show up, and left a message that he was experiencing transmission trouble. OK-these things happen. We spoke again a week or so later and set a second date/time. He suggested a window from 11:00-1:00 on a weekday. I reluctantly agreed, although I had to cancel other commitments to be there when he arrived. On the designated day, I arrived at 10:50 in the morning to find a business card tucked into the door jamb. There was no note on it. I assumed this was because he had done the job earlier and left, but this was not the case. I called and reached his voice mail; and expressed my concern that the work had not been done, and that I had cancelled other commitments for nothing. He left voice mail 'trying to reach me' later that afternoon with no explanation whatsoever for his failure to follow through. I decided to try a final time and reached out to him this afternoon, asking if he could do the work today. He asked what kind of bees we had (this was not the first time I told him that they were not bees, but hornets). He responded "I'm not looking forward to it but I'll do it". He asked if I could meet him at the site in one hour and I agreed-I was 30 minutes away and rushed to meet him, glad that the problem would finally be addressed. I was there at the designated time-and again, he never showed. I called his business phone twice and the message indicated that the 'voice mailbox was full'. I waited an hour and then drove to his place of business to express my dissatisfaction with his lack of professionalism. I had to search the Internet to find an actual physical address (there is only a P.O. Box on Mr. Kuttner's business card). No sign of life. I gave up and left only to find that he had left a voice mail on my home phone indicating that the nest was 'too high' and he could 'explain better if I wanted to call him'. Interesting-the nest was 25' in front of him when he left his business card behind on the first visit-and I had indicated the height of the nest during our first phone conversation. Run, don't walk, to a reputable pest control service. Ace isn't it. What a joke. read more
