He does not rush you and wants to have all of your questions answered prior to him leaving. He even took the time to climb under the cottage to survey as much of the underside as possible. Good thing he is a skinny guy as that's the only way someone can get under the house. The inspector also came back for a follow-up inspection after work was completed but only wanted cash as it wasn't an official inspection. He checked every wall, gap, crevice, behind furniture, pipe, appliance, sink, tub and even took off the electrical panel to review the panel. After inspecting an area, he would give me an explanation of what he checked, any concerns he had including why it was a concern and what would be required to resolve the issue. I chose Frank (Owner of HearthStone Home Inspections) since his reviews online were excellent and my realtor also agreed that Frank is very good and detailed which made my decision even easier. The whole home inspection (About 2300 sqft) took 2 hrs (It's a young house). He completed the inspection around 5:30 pm and had the online report available for my realtor and myself the next morning. I HIGHLY recommend HearthStone Inspections!!!

Our Inspector was thorough and detailed he was, personable, competent, helpful and pleasant. He went to great length to explain things, the level of severity of issues and things to focus when we buy the home. This was probably the best experience I have had with a Home Inspection and the report that I received will be a document that I will use to update the various aspects of the home. It was forty pages with a ton of reference pictures and was well worth the money. I have had inspections in the past from "franchise" type companies and they have missed a ton of stuff and taken shortcuts, you won't see that with Walsh, great outfit and refreshing to be able to recommend a small business with such consistency.

I cannot thank MKC Associates--and specifically Tom Berthiaume--enough for the extraordinarily…read morethorough home inspection they conducted on a condo I intended to purchase. Their work quite literally saved me from making a huge mistake. The unit, located in a high‑end Boston property, turned out to be severely neglected and in need of major repairs. Without MKC's thoroughness, I might have ended up purchasing a property requiring immediate and expensive major electrical, plumbing, appliance, and fixture (windows and doors) repairs. Tom arrived early for the appointment, which took place over Labor Day weekend. That level of dedication matters, and I greatly appreciated being able to secure an expert inspection so quickly (literally a few days). The review lasted about 1.5 hours and covered not only the unit's interior but also the building's common areas, the roof, and the exterior envelope. I learned a lot--not just about the unit and its owner, but also about the HOA and the building's overall condition. The report was available the next day, both online as an interactive document and as a downloadable PDF. It was exceptionally detailed, well‑organized, and easy to navigate. MKC posts sample reports on their website, and I can confirm the real report you receive is just as comprehensive and descriptive as the examples. The photos show the actual appliances, fixtures, and features in the property, which makes reviewing deficiencies straightforward. MKC also provides helpful YouTube videos explaining how to access and interpret the report, including a powerful feature that allows buyers to communicate deficiencies and estimated repair or replacement costs directly to sellers. This tool is invaluable for anyone negotiating repairs or credits. The inspection cost--$860.25 in my case--was worth every penny. The unit I was considering would have required major expenditures to make it livable, and MKC's work prevented me from walking into a financial disaster. In summary, MKC is the real deal. Whether you're purchasing a condo or a single‑family home, I strongly encourage you to hire MKC for your inspection. You will not regret it.
