My lock broke when a strong gust of wind slammed the door shut. I saw the great reviews Ace Lock & Security owner Richard Rebori was receiving and called him. He answered immediately, while driving his wife for a checkup, and said he'd be by my Johnson Village house within 40 minutes. He showed up as promised and quickly won my trust with his good-humored, straightforward manner. It was already getting dark but this 74-year-old man got down on one knee, twisted out the broken latch with a pair of pliers, went back to his van, and returned with exactly the model of lock needed to replace the broken one. After 5 minutes of expertly jiggling, twisting and screwing in, he had the new lock securely in place--fixed! The price he charged was almost ridiculously low ($125)--this after going out of his way to find my house after a long drive. I was so moved by his generosity that I said, "Please, name your price!" But he had named it. He went on to say he was retired, and doing this only to help people! Five stars are totally inadequate to rate Mr. Rebori, as a locksmith and a human being. read more

If i believed in such things, I'd say we live in an old haunted house. Richard, from Ace Lock and Security, has been out to save us from our mysteriously self-locking doors numerous times. He is extremely quick to respond, very competent/experienced, and very fair in his pricing. We would not call anyone else when we need a locksmith. read more

I locked my keys in my car when I was in Charlottesville for work. Of the four locksmiths I called, this was the only one that was available. Quick, friendly service. $55.00 service fee for getting me back in my car. I didn't get a chance to price compare. Cheaper than breaking a window, I suppose! read more

I called Ace to have a new (to me) house rekeyed. Richard showed up on time, was pleasant and suggested that instead of getting new keys that I go to Lowe's to purchase new locks as the ones I had were POS. Clearly the cheapest door handle and deadlock on the market were installed before I purchased the house. I appreciated his honesty regarding the type of locks I had, but told him to go ahead with a complete over-haul as I had no time to do this myself. He installed a high quality deadbolt and door handle in about 1 hour. Done and done. Thanks Richard!! read more
