I've been here before, and even when I don't find what I need I like wandering the rows; sometimes you see cool things. Needed some stuff for Sweetie's car, so I came by. Hers is new enough (2005) that there's not many of them here, but I found an older one of the same body style which had most of what we need. Beautiful day, dry ground even after a storm, and no more frustration than usual getting stuff off. They have wheelbarrows for your heavy stuff; I should have grabbed one for my toolbox at least. $1 to get in, friendly staff, decent selection. I'll be back, I'm sure.

It's time for UNIVERSAL AUTO PARTS & SALVAGE. I gotta say that when it comes to some good guys at the counter, Universal does well. My interaction was with JOE who either was an owner or one heckuva manager. I'll cut to the chase. I wanted some $$$ out of my car, Joe played fair and suggested I go down the street. Upon saying that would work, he asked if he could see my car before I went. Bingo! He understood I wasn't banging about town for too much cash,... just wanting a good handshake and something to cover my UBER ride home and extra to pay my next car payment. The entire staff there was cordial, fun/interesting, went out of their way to listen and interact. If you're not going in with a PRI**CK attitude and feel you've got something to hock, Universal would be my suggestion. Joe - well done, sir. Well done!

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We were in search of a tire rim to fit a Pontiac Sunfire. There were quite a few customers shopping, so we had to wait about 10-15 minutes in line before we were helped. The lady was doing all the directing; also was the go-between for the workers in the yard and what customers were looking for. She was polite, had a good sense of humor, but she was also direct with her customers - a no bullshit type of gal :) Since one must sign a waiver, and all that jazz, to go out and find your part, Richy our friend did all the searching. Found a rim, unfortunately it still had an obvious-gashed tire still sealed to it. The gentleman behind the counter gave us the rim without charging for the tire (since it wasn't in good condition, and that's not what we were looking for anyway). For $7 we were able to walk out happy!
