We went in for salt blocks but managed to spend an hour just browsing the aisles. They sell a little bit of everything in Ace, which is why I love them so much. Whether you need a Big Green Egg, a Yeti, or canning jars, you can find it at Ace. They had 5 or 6 varieties of apples for sale that you could buy by the pound. I had never seen that in an Ace but they smelled great and so we had to buy some. There is a black cat named Baby that wanders around the store that also adds charm to a small-town hardware plus misc. store. We found it asleep on the deer corn on our visit.

Why? Because you get one on one help even when its with the littlest of things such as the needing the right screws. This is important to me especially when I'm in a hurry. Chevy Chase came through for me. There is plenty of off street parking in the back plus a back door for customers. The inside of the store seems huge but its hard to tell since the aisles are narrow and it looks like its two buildings put together inside. The rows of aisles is endless it seems. I got there just before closing and did not have time to browse the whole store. Staff was super friendly and extra helpful. I highly recommend this store for your home maintenance needs.

Paint, nails, cookware, cleaning supplies, tools, keys, and many odd and end items. The guys that work here are great. They strive to assist people any way they can and do it with a huge smile. They also still wear the old school True Value Aprons like they did back in the old days. Entering this specific store is like you went back into time when things were more simpler. I love it. They write everything down on a carbon copy receipt and tally it all up on a hand calculator. This kind of store don't seem to exist any more. Lowes says that they have delivery installers that are trained. I don't believe that's true. They…read moresent two installers out last week neither of which spoke English. They had no idea what to do and told me to hire a plumber to come out and disconnect the refrigerator and washing machine and then they would come back and reconnect my new appliances. So I was forced to pay $79 for a five minute service call to ask a professional plumber to disconnect my two appliances. That was ridiculous. I asked Lowes to reimburse me for $79 and they finally agreed to a $40 gift card to be used at Lowe's. if they're just gonna give their store gift cards they should reimburse the entire $79. I would never purchase any other appliance from Lowe's that needs to be installed by their installers. I will say that the second time they came out I did request different installers and they were much better. Lowes told me their policy was at least one person would speak English when they send out installers so Lowes violated their own policy last week by sending out two people who did not speak one word of English. They just kept talking into their phone and then pointing the phone in my direction via a translation app. The guy kept saying he was afraid to disconnect the appliances because he was afraid my house would flood. The professional plumbers that came out to disconnect said that there were no problems with disconnecting either and he should've been able to easily do it. I still want Lowes to pay me the other $40 that I'm due because they sent an untrained incompetent installer, which was a service that I paid for.
