I believe in supporting local businesses whenever possible. I called over to see if they could cut some glass for me and I was told as long as it was under 36", yes. When I got there, they found that the particular thickness I asked for was one they didn't have. I was disappointed, but realized it was an honest mistake. I went ahead and purchased glaziers points and putty while I was there, knowing I would need that no matter what. Without asking, I was given a huge discount on the purchase. I appreciate this store and staff! read more

They are worthless. Very rude. Don't matter if you have receipts or not. They basically told us that the package couldn't be opened to return even tho there new policy is no receipt you can't return it. Won't be back in that store and as far as I'm concerned they can shut it down. Higher than going to Glasgow and getting same product cheaper then just going there to begin with. read more

This store was everything and nothing like I expected. They seemed to have odd hours. With odds and ends tucked in every corner, and rooms that look like you shouldn't go in but can and are filled with antiques of all different varieties. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the chaos that is The Olde General Store. It was neat to look around though and see all the offerings. I loved some of the old farm tools and wished I was more artsy to create some neat repurposed projects but alas walked out with my bank account still intact.

Horse Cave, KY is a surprising little destination on our trip to Mammoth Caves and we were delighted with our finds while visiting this little town. Most everything is located in a pretty small quadrant, so you can make your rounds to all the different shopping locations pretty easily. This book store was surprisingly big, and had something from every genre. Prices are reasonable and they even have some items that would be considered more collectable and had prices that acknowledged that. Staff was really nice and helpful and they had some really great prices. We would stop in here again if we made our way back to Horse Cave.
