When I got home I found cracks and voids on more than one inside corner, proud and sunken screw holes, and joint mesh exposed and not feathered out. They sent someone to fix it and again said everything was all set. I found more proud screw holes and more exposed mesh. They came back again and seemed like they did everything so I paid in full. My first coat of paint exposed tons of "fish eyes ", small round voids in all the joints. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend using this company.

We need a contractor here for a very long list of projects and we wanted Payless to be the one. But. It took 8 weeks and now we have a basic shed, wooden entrance steps and a back door. See pics. I didn't want to hire him because when we first met him, he was three hours late without contacting us, but my partner wanted to give him a chance. I contacted him after two hours and some errands and he showed up an hour after THAT. NEVER HIRE SOMEONE THIS DISRESPECTFUL. I think my partner learned a lesson. Derek said he had 29 men working for him and that we would have a shed in a day. The men worked two at a time for FIVE HOURS PER WEEK for six weeks. On three separate occasions he had four or more men here, but not even for full work days. That accounts for the other two weeks. He would say they were coming and they didn't. He would say they would be here in the morning and they would arrive two and a half hours dark. Once he told us they were in our driveway. WE were in our driveway. They weren't in sight. Even though I told him I wanted steps, he was somehow stuck on a ramp and wouldn't listen until I yelled. His guys don't speak English, either, so how could I possibly get a good result? We always had to call him to translate from miles away. I did not have 8 weeks to waste on this guy. The floor should have been done by now, insulation, tree damage . . . I had time to do all of that before it got cold but he took 8 weeks on three small projects and I couldn't schedule anything else because he was never truthful about when his men would be here. It's possible that his men lie to him about where they are. I can't think of any other reason why someone would lie like that. Last Saturday, I told him not to come back. Then like a bully, out of the blue, his guys came on Tuesday, as if he's so belligerent that he had to show a DYING woman who's boss. That's right, I have stage 5 cancer and people in my condition live for about 20 months and he knew that I was trying to fix this place for my bf to live in after I'm dead. He set me back by an entire winter. I'm thinking about haunting him after death if I'm allowed. Hopefully there will be better things to do. Below are the photos of the "finished" work that I have to pay someone else to fix. If he were a good person, he would read this and learn where to improve, but all he wants to do is argue.

Three days later I had to kick them off my property after realizing they literally had no clue what they were doing. I paid $1000 plus bought all materials including a sanding block, should have been a huge red flag that a professional contractor didn't even have something to sand with, his other company is a drywall company. Everything they touched they either broke or left in worst condition than found. On top of what I gave them and the need to pay a "real contractor" to come in and redo/fix their shoddy "work" I also had to pay for things they broke while they were attempting to do the work they said they could do. NO refund or compensation was offered even after admitting to not doing anything properly. The pictures do not even show all the damage they left behind. A complete and total mess that I had to continue to ask the workers to clean up after themselves. All in I was quoted $1500 and will end up paying almost $4000!!! Very expensive life lesson

Marc Carrier the owner of Drywall Concepts was recommended to me by an electrician that was working on another job in my house. I called Marc. He responded in a short period of time. He came to the house and provided an estimate. We agreed to have the work performed. He and his son made two visits to do the work within the agreed upon time frame. The work was performed very well. The paint they used after the drywall repair was done matched the shade of white of the rest of the ceiling so well that we have delayed painting the entire ceiling which we had previously considered. Marc and his son were both very professional. They removed their shoes before coming into the house. They cleaned up after the job was completed. The invoice came in at less than the estimated cost which is always a welcome event. I will call on them for future drywall or painting projects. I recommend them to others in need of drywall or painting services.

He didn't actually come to my house to see the doors so he thought they needed to be sanded and restained. When the handyman arrived he told me the doors were not wood but metal and would need to be painted. Then the price went up $400 for painting instead of staining. He bought paint, which we had requested black, and he painted the first door. While the door was wet, it looked black. But the next day when he came back, the door was actually very dark brown. So we asked him to get the right paint. Which I got charged for again. He redid the threshold. He took the iron bars off the doors and sprayed them with black rustoleum. I asked him if he could putty some large cracks on two big columns on our front porch. He said he could patch the cracks with putty and then would paint. He ended up putting some kind of weird bonding material all the way around the base of the column and you could see some kind of fiber in the bonding and then he painted it. He did this without asking me first. I was not happy at all with the way it looked. They called me after the job was done and said they would come back and see what they could do to fix the patch job. It's been over a week now and I haven't heard a word from them. I wouldn't recommend for these reasons. They said if anything were to change as far as their quote to me went, it wouldn't be more than 10% of the estimate. They gave me a price of $2400 for the doors and then wanted $400 more for painting instead of staining. What's the big difference? The paint they charged me for, which was the wrong color, was only $6.00. Why the $400 up charge? They should've come out in the first place to see what the doors were actually made of instead of requesting pictures. You live and learn. I will not use them again. Very disappointed. I will say they eventually came down on the price after it went up, and it was about $2500 instead of $2900 which they were going to charge me. The doors look good. The threshold was left the dark brown color though and I had to repaint it myself with the black paint. The columns look terrible.

My property company hired Ace Handyman Services for some light paint work in an apartment and I was impressed with the amount of communication I received through text message/answering my questions prior to the appointment. The morning of the appointment I even received a courtesy text with a picture of the Handyman that was scheduled to do the work. We hired him to paint the house, fix siding, and replace windows. Come to find out, the majority of the homes in our neighborhood all had the same structural rot issues as ours. Christer knew all about the rot issues that plagued the neighborhood. I became aware of the issues when the workers mentioned it to me. An honest human being would have warned us about the issues prior to starting the project. I agree with reviewer Paul C. that Christer's sales skills are effective but duplicitous. As with others, this was a "lesson learned" moment for me and my wife. 1) The paint job is terrible. Roughly, after two years, you can see the old paint job through the "new" paint job. A couple of spots were missed, which is totally understandable. However, I requested a "walk through" 3 times. Never got one. 2) The craftsmanship is inconsistent--some spots are good, whereas other are mediocre and sloppy. 3) Unprofessional: precautions were not taken to avoid dirt and such being tracked into the house. Moreover, work done in a bedroom involving dry wall never included covering up the bedroom furniture! It never occurred to them that dry wall dust was all over a child's bedding, clothing, and toys!! The effort to clean-up the work done in and around the house was terrible and sloppy. After talking to many in our neighborhood, their experiences with other contractors were far more positive and successful than ours with Mattsson.

I made sure I sent pictures ahead of time and also confirmed twice ahead of time that they had the ability to clean the ceilings. They showed up with a small ladder a bit bigger than a step stool. The ceilings were not cleaned and still have lots of cobwebs. We paid $550 for a deep clean- the bedrooms were left with all beds unmade- windows and floors were not done. My poor mother in law trusted me to pick a good company and we were left to clean after paying a high price for cleaners. Others in the area quoted around $330!! I give two stars because they did a great job in the downstairs bathroom. That being said- that's the room they started in so I think the mojo was lost after that. They barely looked at it, didn't mention all the things that Bill pointed out, told me they couldn't do it until 3 weeks later, then said it would cost twice as much as Bill's quote. Needless to say, we went with Bill. He started the job quickly and wrapped it up even quicker. When he was done he even quoted us on painting the entire deck, which we took him up on because painting a deck is a major pain in the ass. He completed the painting in about 2 weeks (due to weather and holidays) and it came out great. The deck required 3 coats due to the dark stain that was originally on it, but Bill didn't change the cost of the job or complain. I'll call him again if we have another big project that we need a hand with. He's a good dude.

After it was done...the roof leaked worse than before...they were notified and eventually came back and said...oh...they forgot to use the silicon deal on the seams...they came back and supposedly did the silicon sealing... Next rain...still leaking...and continues to leak... definitely worse than before their attempt to fix it. Here's the main problem...I contacted them...told them I needed them to return and fix the problem as I wanted to paint the deck...and now...the water is much worse and I can't paint it until the leaks are properly repaired.....no callback after a bit of time.callex again...no answers...left messages several times......nothing. Finally wrote them s letter which I still have a copy of....nothing...no response...ever...called once more...nothing. Weather turned to winter and I left it go...now out 500.00 dollars and my roof is leaking horribly. I just experienced another rainy day ...horrible leaking going on still but am totally fearful of hiring someone again for fear of being ripped off once again. These guys are aweful..im retired woman alone and I trusted them to take my money and do the job. I don't like complaining but my daughter's are angry now that I've told them why we can't sit on the deck when it rains as we did before these people made a small leak turn into a huge disaster...then totally refuse to get back to me when I tried to contact them over and over again....I lost 500.00...
