Luckily there was a branch a brisk 15 minute walk from where I was staying. I went there around mid-morning on a Tuesday and had no trouble finding it in a covered arcade. There were a few people in line, but it moved very quickly. The tellers were very quick in handling each person's request. I've seen banks in other countries where they would spend a good 30 minutes with each person, counting and recounting the cash, putting it through a counting machine, and then manually counting again. Thank goodness they didn't do this here or else I'd be waiting for half a day. Best of all the exchange rate was great, only off the market value by a few pennies. I'm writing this Yelp review to point others in the direction of Thomas Exchange, but also so that I can remember to come here next time I'm in London!

When I pointed it out he said no refunds and pointed to a tiny sign at the corner of the counter that said there was a 15% commission but while I was in line I overheard him telling customers that they were not charging commission. I even found a receipt on the counter to point it out to him. The exchange rate was horrible too but I needed money. I emailed the company but no response.
