Last year, one of my employees (a new guy) cashed his paycheck here, then came in Monday morning and said he lost it. I checked the bank, it hadn't gone thru so I 'Stop Paid' the check and reissued him one. That Thursday, the owner called me because I 'stop paid' a cashed check and my employee had tried to screw him. Now, I guess I could have told him he's out of luck and I know a few business owners that would have, but that's not very neighborly so I said "bring in the check, I'll pay it". Sure enough, he had a copy of my employee's ID and the check. I had him confront my employee, and I docked his pay the amount he screwed this guy for. My employee quit later that day. Now, a year or two later. This guy calls me. He had a counterfeit check written on my bank account. All the account numbers matched. The signature (was scanned) matched. Our check logo matched and the check number was within issued range. Since my employees go there, he recognized that the color and style of the check was wrong. It was a "Office Depot" special (they sell blank paycheck paper to allow people to make forgeries). He called me, that moment to alert me. THANK YOU SIR!!! He told me, he would fully cooperate with the police to help identify the person. In fact, he had her ID, cause he was holding it in his hand when he yelled at her "this is a fake check, I'm calling the police". She ran out to her car without it. He identified the gal from police mug shots. She's hit 5-6 other places... damn meth whores. I had to close my damn payroll account on a Friday 2 hours before issuing checks. I have no lesson in any of this, just a reinforcement of my core belief in karma (what comes around goes around). I'm glad I was pleasant to this guy in our first meeting. Arvada sadly closed both locations, we frequented due to new construction. We were assured all of our info was in system, so we'd be fine at another location at 72nd & Federal. NO NO NO!!!!! I went in today. Two cashiers each with one customer at that time. I waited and watched as one of the cashiers giggled, laughed and proceeded to act like a high schooler, The cashiers appeared to at least handle the customers as 1 moved away from the window to do paperwork. The 2nd customer has to jump between both windows to find out if his card was overdrawn, & then put $ on it. He left & his cashier sat down. The other cashier called me over, I explained we were from the Arvada store. Immediately she seemed unaware as what to do. She turned to the 1st cashier & again laughing, giggling & delirious seemed spaced out. The original customer came back & asked about his money-gram. Again she began laughing and flipping pages of papers all about stating she was so spaced out. REALLY? And you are handling people's money???? After flirting with the young man again, she finally came back to me, took the check and cashed it. I had numerous bills and an ace card to put money on, sitting on the counter in front of her. I explained I had bills to pay also. She responded with, "You want to pay bills too?". I asked for my bills back & told her she needed to be communicating with me, not her co-worker, about how hungry she was, how cute someone was, how exhausted and overwhelmed she was (i was the only customer). She replied, "Well, I really don't have anything to talk to you about". !!!!! Perhaps she should learn IF THE CUSTOMER IS TRYING TO MAKE A TRANSACTION, ASK THEM HOW YOU CAN HELP THEM! At this point I knew I was not trusting her with my bills, & asked about another store location. Unfortunately I needed to load a deposit on the card for a bill. She explained it was on Pecos & I did not want to drive there. I asked her if she could manage a card transaction and actually managed to do so, rather reluctantly! This gem had the name "Jennifer" on the receipt. Straight dark hair, past shoulders. Horn-rimmed glasses. Her hair hung over her name badge, so not sure that's her name for certain. She needs to find work at a day care! It's rather frightening to know she is handling your finances. BEWARE
