I have been with Dr Unger for just over a year now. My last…read moreGaston retired I had been with him through so much for 32 years!!! It was really hard to have to look for someone that was a great dr with a really great bedside manner! And so I talked to my old dr and he gave me the recommendation for dr Unger! Thank god I got to him because I wound up in the hospital in December for 12 days! Dr Unger was great! Very concerned and it really made me feel good I felt as though I could really move on without my dr of 32 years!! I still have issue with my stomach but I know whenever I need to see dr Unger they will get to me in ASAP and everyone is very helpful at the front desk!!! I have left drs due to the staff but whoever does the hiring and the training has done a great job!! I would and do recommend him to people I know looking for a great Gastroenterologist's!!!!

Terrible place. The receptionist and "ToniAnne" (who makes the procedure appointments) are rude and…read moreincompetent. I tried for weeks to make an appointment for a colonoscopy, but ToniAnne refused to return my calls. (Left multiple messages.) The receptionist finally called her and connected me. She told me the appointment was "at the same office". When I asked her again for the address, she said "the doctor's office". So, I went to the Bridgewater office only to have the receptionist *mock* me for several minutes! The appointment was at the Watchung office. The doctors do not seem much better either. When I had seen the doctor, that meeting lasted less then 5 minutes. That was it. He did not ask many questions. The doctors and the staff are a good fit: uncaring and/or incompetent.

I an age when the medical industry gives you the choices of being rushed through the assembly line…read moreat an "urgent care" office or seeing a series of nurse practitioners who run an office rarely visited by a doctor, I was on a search for a real doctor. One that knew her stuff and was interested in the back story. One that was open minded enough to discuss the situation with the patient, but guided by her expertise. I'm glad I found Dr. Auletta. I'll spare the details of the circumstances that lead me to this doctor, but I had called over twenty other offices that day looking for a doctor who would treat my wife for something that seemed like too stable of an issue for an emergency room but too time sensitive of an issue to visit doctor after doctor looking for a decent one where we had moved. She was off duty - it was her day off, but she answered the phone and discussed the issue, calming me down and getting us in the office at the first chance. We've been seeing her for years and have both moved in different directions, much to far to visit her office, but every time I am rushed through a doctor's office who tells me their computer system is down so they don't know my medical history, but that they don't want to hear about it because they're too busy to listen to the patient, I think of how much I would love to move back to where Dr. Auletta could be counted on and had a doctor-patient relationship with us. I see a review complaining about if her secretary could understand English or was aware of some vaccination, and I can't help but think that person missed the point. How many doctors have you been to that take the time to discuss how you've been feeling and then work through the issues, step by step, rather than just writing you a script and pushing you out the door? And how many times have you talked to "the girl on the phone" and had it lead to an answer from a doctor, and not just some guessed nonsense the secretary made up to get you off the phone and in the office for another co-pay? It is true that the office isn't the pretties building in the classiest looking place, but hip decor and upscale office buildings will never cure your illness and may show that a doctor is willing to focus on those things to draw you in, rather than trying to draw you in by being a good doctor.

If you want exceptional medical care, Dr. Auletta should be your first choice. I have been a…read morepatient of Dr. Auletta's for many years, and I rarely write reviews, but here it is warranted. Dr. Auletta is one of a kind. She is truly a patient-centered physician that takes her time with each patient. She actively listening to concerns and has always treated me with exceptional kindness and respect. This kind of care, along with her skill and extensive knowledge, is a rarity. I wish more physicians practiced like she does.
