My first recommendation is to stay away from this service. I have purchased a groupon with the intention of getting a DEXA scan for body recomposition. Pretty simple, just get an accurate reading to adjust my nutrition and workout routine accurately. So if this is your main reason for this purchase don't even bother. I came in, checked in. You are expected to provide a letter of recommendation from a doctor, which I did. I brought in a note which they said is...not usable (official note from my doctor) At this point the technician and I had a phone call with a "doctor" on speaker phone. No idea who this man was or even if he is a doctor but I wanted to get scanned so whatever moving on. I was weighed(128llbs) and my height(5'5) measured and scanned. The person running the scanner would be advised to focus on data entry instead of rambling on about some irrelevant nonsense but... its all good I'm getting scanned right? After my scan I was sat down with the first technician(who I had the "doctor phone call" with) . Alright this is where the actual bullshit starts. So, looking at the readings with him, it comes up as my body fat being 35%. That's just weird considering I am in a low BMI and have maybe 5-10 pounds to my ideal weight. This man proceeds to explain to me that "its my organs" (???) and that I am in fact obese. I am standing in front of him, at 5'5, 128 pounds asking him how this is possible and he just doubles down. I leave the appointment confused and dissatisfied. On my way out, I review the paper again and notice that the data input was done wrong and actually had me at 5'1 and not 5'5, oh okay an oversight, not a problem. I turn back and return to the office. Come in, explain the issue, have a few moments of "oh yeah thats wrong" End up getting re-scanned. Proper data entry. Get the results, SAME THING. So your scan is listing you at 35% at 5'1 and at 5'5 ? I highlight how ridiculous this is. But its Friday evening and everyone is eager to go home. I schedule a follow up phone call to see if they fixed the machine. I gave them a call a couple days later, they informed me that their machine has been recalibrated and it's essentially giving the right reading but it's me that is wrong? I find it hard to believe I can be qualified as nearing obesity with a BMI of 21. The technician reviewing the readings has such a disconnect with what bodies look like that he has the confidence to tell someone with ab definition that they are 35% BF, it's honestly A JOKE. Anyways, they basically told me to get a refund off groupon knowing it cant be done so now I wasted $80 and have nothing to show for it honesty. I would stay away from these people, I'm not even sure they know what their doing. Their machine will NOT give you accurate readings and I feel soo bad for anyone who has come here and been told and inaccurate BF reading and TRUSTED THEM. Stay away, totally 0% professionalism, 0% accountability and 0% critical thinking skills. What a colossal waste of time and money. read more
