I'm in the unique position of having been to two hearing centers within a month. My experience with Accurate Hearing Centers was not good. When I went in for my hearing test, the exam seemed thorough and Todd seemed like a nice enough guy.
However, he began putting a big push on the "aural rehabilitation" program and made it seem like it was not an option, at a cost of $1,000.
Conceptually, the program seemed reasonable and valid. So I went ahead and purchased hearing aids. However, something just didn't feel right so, I contacted my insurance company and learned that all the "advantages" of this "aural rehabilitation" were already included in my coverage (60-day trial, programming of hearing devices, free adjustments for a year, 3-year warranty, etc.).
So, I made arrangements to return my hearing aids so I could go to another hearing center. After a bit of haggling, my money was refunded and I went to HearUSA where I was re-tested, much more thoroughly than at Accurate Hearing Centers. There was never any push to try and upsell me at HearUSA. If you're reading this, you know that hearing aids are already very expensive. Why take advantage of people by selling them on services which are unnecessary?
I purchased new hearing aids from HearUSA which I received yesterday. The experience was completely different. Renata was very thorough in explaining to me the functioning of the hearing aids and took time to adjust them to make sure they fit properly and were set correctly. This had not been my experience at Accurate Hearing Centers.
After dealing with Accurate Hearing Centers, I felt like what they're doing is a scam and I would not refer anyone to them. read more
