I usually do work on my cars myself because it can be hard to find a trustworthy auto shop. Unlike the majority of auto shops I've dealt with in the past, Rob and his team at Accurate Brake & Alignment do excellent work, use quality parts, and have never tried to upsell me on unneeded services. They've replaced broken coils on my VW Passat, replaced the brakes/rotors in my Toyota Prius, diagnosed/replaced bad TPMS sensors in my Lexus, and taken care of oil changes. When I most recently had the brake job done on my Prius, I was pleasantly surprised that they used top quality original equipment brake pads and rotors. Oftentimes, auto shops cut corners and use cheap parts to increase their margin. Rob and his team at Accurate Brake & Alignment are the only people I trust to work on my cars. read more

We've been going to AB&A for the last couple of years because our Dealer can't seem to diagnose/repair basic issues and we've been quite pleased with AB&A's attention to detail, quality of service, and attitude. We'll drop by, they take a quick a look and give us their impressions of this, that or another unusual issue based on their many years of experience. If they find it's something or their's more, they call and we discuss- no issues. I've been recently bothered by a loud sound coming from under the hood for the last couple of days. It seemed like it may be the belts. One of the guys- my bad, I'm horrible w/ names- quickly came out- did I mention, I had no appt- asked me to pop the hood and start the engine. He checked of all the potential suspects while I feared the worst. He leaves/comes back, popped open the car's power steering reservoir and poured some PS fluid. Then he poured some more....because it was (apparently) really low. I asked him if that was it. He said that was it. I thanked him. He went back to work. It worked/it works. Of course, I'm hoping the leak doesn't get too much worse so I'll be keeping an eye on it and the driveway. Whenever we need something done to the old beast or the new one we'll be back. Great little shop. I started bringing my family's cars here for service and couldn't be happier. They're honest and straight forward and aren't in the business of add-ons and up charges. Example- my other half drives a 12 year old Toyota Matrix that started making a wheel bearing noise from one of the front wheels. I couldn't tell which wheel but thought it was the passenger side. I brought it in to Accurate and the noise was still too faint to tell which wheel it was coming from. Instead of taking my money and just replacing the part I thought was bad, they asked if I could keep driving the car until it became more apparent which bearing was making noise, so that they didn't waste my money replacing the wrong bearing- after ensuring it was safe to continue driving of course. I really appreciate their honesty and the respect they have for my hard earned money. read more

Changed winter tires over to summer and found 2 of the summer tires needed replacement. I was leaving the next day and they managed to get 2 new tires AND an alignment for me before I had to leave. Not often we see service like this anymore. read more

I had a hitch installed at Accurate Brake. They did a quick job of it, which left my new car cut apart underneath. The hole they cut (on the "cover" on the underneath of the rear of the car) to accommodate the hitch is much bigger than it had to be. I wish I had gone elsewhere, honestly. The hole is unsightly, with insulation hanging out of it, and I'm sure that debris will get up into it. I'm disappointed. read more

They have never tried to add something on that wasn't necessary. There have been a few times that I thought I needed specific work done, but was reassured that I didn't. These guys are great! I live in Western MA, in Boston for the day. My car was making a lot noise as I was driving home so I pulled off the highway. It was almost 6 pm and these guys were open. They stopped what they were doing to take my car for a quick test drive. It turns out they shop that took of my snow tires did not properly tighten the lug nuts on both back tires!
